Opis:
In this study, cobalt-nickel (Co-Ni) alloys were deposited electrochemically onto aluminum substrates under applied current densities of 103.8, 138.4, 173 and 207.6 A m¯². Influence of the applied current density on the structural and magnetic properties of the Co-Ni alloys was investigated. The bath for Co-Ni alloys deposition was composed of 0.08 mol l¯¹ CoSO₄·7H₂O, 0.2 mol l¯¹ NiCl₂·6H₂O, 0.1 mol l¯¹ NiSO₄·6H₂O and 0.25 mol l¯¹ H₃BO₃. The electrochemical investigation of Co-Ni alloys was completed using cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic studies. Inductively coupled plasma analysis has shown that the amount of the cobalt in the deposited alloy has decreased from 73.61% to 67.01% with the increase of the applied current density from 103.8 to 207.6 A m¯². According to the magnetic analysis results, the values of coercivity coefficient of the deposited Co-Ni alloys range between 115 and 150 Oe, confirming ferromagnetic behavior of the alloys. Experiment results indicate that magnetic and structural properties of the Co-Ni alloy deposits are greatly influenced by the applied current density in the electrodeposition system.

Opis:
Cobalt-Nickel alloys have been widely used for decoration, in magnetic recording devices and corrosion resistance applications, etc. In this study, the influences of cobalt amount in electrolyte on the magnetic and structural properties of the electrodeposited Co-Ni alloys were investigated. An electrolyte solution, consisting of cobalt sulfate, nickel sulfate, nickel chloride and boric acid, was used in electrodeposition. The electrochemical investigation of Co-Ni alloys was completed using cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic studies. The morphological and structural analyses of the alloys were performed using inductively coupled plasma, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and vibrating sample magnetometer techniques. The effect of cobalt concentration on the magnetic properties, phase structure and grain size of the alloys was investigated. Magnetic hysteresis results indicate that the amount of the cobalt content in the electrolyte has a strong influence on the ferromagnetic behavior of fabricated alloys. Results of the study show that changing the electrodeposition parameters, such as composition of electrolyte solution, allows to fabricate alloys with different properties.

The paper is focused on the results of Xe ions irradiation of nanocomposite FeCoZr-CaF₂ films synthesized in the oxygen-containing atmosphere. Combined influence of nanoparticles partial oxidation and ion irradiation with different fluences on the crystalline structure, phase composition and magnetic anisotropy is analysed by X-ray diffraction, the Mössbauer spectroscopy and vibrating sample magnetometry. The origin of the detected progressive enhancement of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy as the result of films oxidation and irradiation is discussed in the context of formation of nanoparticles oxide shells and ion tracks along the films normal.

Opis:
The goal of the present work is to compare progressive technology - rolling at cryogenic temperature and classical rolling at ambient temperature followed by an investigation of their impact on the final microstructure and the magnetic properties of non-oriented electrical steel. Non-oriented electrical steel is characterized by high magnetic induction, low magnetic losses, and low coercivity. The best magnetic properties are achieved using preferable texture and optimal grain size. In this paper there is analyzed the percentage of different textural components after cryo-rolling and after rolling at ambient temperature. To obtain maps of inverse pole figures, the electron backscatter diffraction method was used. The main contribution of this study was that the samples rolled at cryo conditions and after final annealing reached better magnetic properties than at ambient temperature, which was reflected by low magnetic losses and coercivity.

Opis:
Fiber laser scribing of Fe-3.2Si grain-oriented electrical steel was carried out using three different laser pulse regimes, namely a single pulse laser regime, multipulse laser regime and multipulse laser regime with modulation of laser pulses. The samples were tested for coercivity and nanohardness before and after laser processing. Clear improvements in soft magnetic characteristics were observed for all the regimes using the lowest single pulse energy of 0.6 mJ. The best improvement i.e. the most significant decrease in coercivity was obtained after the regime with 5 pulses. Further increasing in both pulse energy and pulse number resulted only in detrimental effects on both magnetic and mechanical characteristics. Introduction of 50 kHz pulse modulation within 100-pulse laser regimes resulted in lower coercivity values in comparison with the same regimes without modulation. The major effects responsible for the observed improvement are related to optimal refinement and rearrangement of magnetic domains determined by the balance of laser-induced residual stresses and plastic deformation at the surface of the treated material. Thus the fiber laser pulse processing has been recognised as a useful and energy efficient tool in obtaining electrical steels for power transformers with lower core losses.

The results of the microstructure investigations of the pure Al and AlMg5 alloy and pure Cu and CuFe2 alloy after the application of severe plastic deformation implemented by rolling with the cyclic movement of the rolls are presented in this paper. The rolling with the cyclic movement of the rolls was carried out at values: the rolling rate v=1 rpm, the frequency of rolls movement f=1 Hz, the amplitude of rolls movement A=1.6 mm. Maximal values of rolling reduction at 6 passes was ε_{h}=80%. The structure of the these materials was analyzed using scanning transmission electron microscope. The quantitative studies of the substructure was performed with MET-ILO software, on the basis of images acquired on scanning transmission electron microscope. Performed substructure investigations showed that using the rolling with the cyclic movement of the rolls method can refine the microstructure of these materials to the ultrafine scale.

Opis:
A novel severe plastic deformation method entitled rolling with cyclic movement of rolls was proposed to fabricate ultrafine grained CuCr0.6 copper alloy. The alloy in the solution treated conditions was processed by rolling with cyclic movement of rolls method by using process parameters as amplitude of rolls movement (A = 0.9 mm), frequency of rolls movement (f = 1 Hz), rolling reduction (ε_{h} = 50%) and rolling rate (v = 1, v = 2, v = 3 rpm). Light microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and a electron backscattering diffraction detector, and scanning transmission electron microscopy were used for microstructural characterization, and hardness tests for a preliminary assessment of mechanical properties. Quantitative studies of the average diameter of the subgrains d (μm) and the average diameter of the grains D (μm) were performed using the scanning electron microscopy/electron backscattering diffraction method. Misorientation angles were analyzed by the Kikuchi-line technique using TSL-OIM software. The results show that the samples underwent very high strain at the lateral areas and smaller at the central areas. As a result, the microstructure became heterogeneous and remained unchanged with change in compression rate. The transverse movement of rolls causes in the material significant effect of refining structure in peripheral areas of sample.

The aim of the paper was to study the features of measurement of the magnetic Barkhausen noise by the new two-stage method in the high excitation frequency region (power line frequency). The magnetic Barkhausen noise was investigated on grain oriented Fe-3%Si steel subjected to different heat treatment. By application of an air coil on the output of the power amplifier we were able to linearize the excitation field. At the same time, the air coil suppressed the unwanted noise from the output of the power amplifier. We have found that the two-stage method is able to reveal a peak of the power spectrum even if it is located at low frequency, in contrast to the classical one-stage method. Further, we successfully applied a model of the power spectrum to the real magnetic Barkhausen noise obtained from the two-stage measurement.

In this paper we propose a method of intercalation of layered single crystals with atoms of 3d-metals in a magnetic-field gradient. We report on structure properties of Co_{x}InSe and Co_{x}In₂Se₃ layered crystals intercalated by cobalt. It was established that ferromagnetic ordering at room temperature is observed in the intercalated crystals. The crystals are a nanocomposite material that consists of a layered matrix and arrays of Co nanoformations on the van der Waals surfaces of InSe and In₂Se₃ layers.

The solid solutions ($BiFeO_{3})_{1-x}(BaTiO_{3})_{x}$ (x=0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5) have been synthesized adopting a solid state sintering route. Well crystalline phase of ($BiFeO_{3})_{1-x}(BaTiO_{3})_{x}$ ceramics at different level of x has been optimized at sintering temperature of 950°C for 2 h. Dielectric, polarization and magnetocapacitance properties were investigated for different content level of $BaTiO_{3}$. Dielectric constant increased with increasing concentration of $BaTiO_{3}$ up to x=0.3 for all the frequencies of 10, 100, and 1000 kHz. Dielectric loss in the material is attributed to space charges, interfacial and dipolar polarizations. Measurements of P-E loop indicated evident ferroelectricity in all samples. Well formed grain with varying grain sizes and nearly uniform shape was found for ceramics samples.

The purpose of present investigation was to study the effects of phase decomposition of the $Cu_{0.4}Mn_{0.3}Ni_{0.3}$ alloy on its magnetic ordering. The single-crystal sample was examined by elastic neutron scattering before and after five subsequent annealing runs. The results indicate that in small fraction of the quenched sample volume there are two types of antiferromagnetic order: one of them AF1 of the long range, the other one of the short range. Ageing induces phase decomposition which yields disappearance of AF1 long range order and increase of the volume of new ordered phase. The results of the investigations of the aged sample indicate that regions of new tetragonal phase exhibit antiferromagnetic ordering with magnetic moments of Mn atoms arranged as in the pure compound MnNi but with unequal domain distribution. The intensity of magnetic component of super-structure reflections increases with the duration of ageing at lower rate than component due to atomic order.

The $Cu-Fe_3$ and $Cu-Cr_3C_2$ bulk nanocomposites are prepared by consolidation of the mechanically alloyed powders. The structure and properties (density, Vickers microhardness and electrical conductivity) of them have been studied. It is shown that microhardness is equal to 236 HV and 470 HV for a Cu-5 vol.% carbide phase and for a Cu-30 vol.% carbide phase, respectively. The microhardness which can be influenced by the heat treatment temperature depends on the grain size of the Cu matrix. The electrical conductivity values of 38-44% IACS (International Annealing Copper Standard) at room temperature have been found.
