Autor analizuje Pawłowe wypowiedzi na temat homoseksualizmu zawarte w 1 Kor 6,9-10 oraz 1 Tm 1,8-10. Teksty te zostają najpierw umieszczone we właściwym im kontekście argumentacyjnym ze wskazaniem na inspirujące je tradycje starotestamentowe (Rdz 1,27-28; Wj 20,1-17 i Pwt 5,6-21; Kpł 18,22 i 20,13). Następnie w krytyczny sposób zaprezentowane zostają pozycje autorów, zawężających Pawłowe rozumienie homoseksualizmu w 1 Kor 6,9-10 oraz 1 Tm 1,8-10 do pederastii i prostytucji. Argumenty filologiczne oraz kontekstualne przytaczane przez zdecydowaną większość komentatorów wskazują, że użyte przez apostoła pojęcia μαλακός i ἀρσενοκοίτης należy czytać jako szeroką krytykę wszelkiego rodzaju aktów homoseksualnych. W ostatnim paragrafie autor podsumowuje toczącą się współcześnie dyskusję nad homoseksualizmem i jego interpretacją u Pawła, wskazując na nieadekwatną metodologię, język i nową hermeneutykę tkwiące u podstaw prób obalenia Pawłowej krytyki postaw homoseksualnych.
The author analyzes the Pauline statements on homosexuality in 1 Cor 6:9-10 and 1 Tim 1:8-10. The examined texts are first placed in their argumentative context, with a hint at the Old Testament traditions standing behind them (Gen 1: 27-28; Exod 20:1-17; Deut 5:6-21; Lev 18:22 and 20:13). Next, the author critically presents the positions of the scholars who limit Paul’s understanding of homosexuality in 1 Cor 6:9-10 and 1 Tim 1:8-10 to pederasty and prostitution. Philological and contextual arguments of the vast majority of researchers indicate that the terms μαλακός and ἀρσενοκοίτης used by the apostle should be read as a broad critique of all kinds of homosexual acts. In the last paragraph, the author sums up the contemporary discussion on homosexuality and its interpretation in Paul, pointing to inadequate methodology, language and new hermeneutics underlying the attempts to refute the Pauline critique of homosexual acts.

Celem artykułu jest analiza występowania słownictwa misteryjnego obecnego w tłumaczeniu Septuaginty. W czasie, kiedy to tłumaczenie powstawało, greckie kulty misteryjne były bardzo popularne. Pewna ich część pozostawała tajemnicą, ale słownictwo, symbolika i część ich ideologii były szeroko znane, także izraelskiej wspólnocie żyjącej w diasporze aleksandryjskiej. Nie jest zatem niczym dziwnym, że w tekście LXX spotykamy słowa związane z kultami misteryjnymi. Tym, co jest zaskakujące i co zachęca do podjęcia badań nad tym zagadnieniem jest to, że w LXX są miejsca, gdzie greckie słowa związane z kultami misteryjnymi tłumaczą słowa hebrajskie w sposób niewłaściwy oraz zmieniają znaczenie i wymowę tłumaczonego tekstu. Z taką sytuacją mamy do czynienia np. w księdze Ozeasza, gdzie spotykamy misteryjne słowa „światło” i „wiedza”, podczas gdy tekst hebrajski przedstawia obrazy rolnicze, oraz w księdze Zachariasza, gdzie hebrajskie słowo „mirt” jest tłumaczone jako „góra”, a słowo „bocian” jako „dudek”. Artykuł podejmuje analizę takiego postępowania tłumaczy LXX oraz motywów ich działania. Możemy tu zaobserwować polemikę z kultami misteryjnymi, prowadzona na dwa sposoby: 1) przez prezentowanie kultów misteryjnych i ich uczestników w złym świetle; 2) przez unikanie możliwych skojarzeń kultu prawdziwego Boga z symboliką misteryjną.
The article provides an analysis concerning the occurrence of some mysteric terms present in the translation of the Septuagint. Greek mystery cults were widely popular at the time when the translation was made. Some parts of the cult were kept undercover. However, the vocabulary, some of the symbols or ideas were widely known to the people, including the Jewish community living in the diaspora of Alexandria. No wonder one can find the words linked to the mystery cults in the Septuagint. What calls one to consider the theme is that some Greek terms linked to the mystery cults in LXX translated the original Hebrew text improperly and thus changed its meaning. Such a situation occurs, e.g., in the book of Hosea where the words light and knowledge appear, whereas the Hebrew text speaks about agriculture, and in the book of Zecharia where the Hebrew word myrtle is translated to mountain and stork to hoopoe. The article provides an analysis of the work of the translators of LXX and the motives of their actions. What can be seen is the polemic with the mysteric cults that is conducted in two ways: firstly, by presenting the mysteric cults and their participants in a negative light; secondly, by avoiding any possible positive associations of the faith of God of Israel with the mystery symbolism.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę czasową wydajności systemów Windows 10 oraz Windows 8.1. Przeprowadzone badania skupiały się na porównaniu wydajności elementów systemu urządzenia mobilnego, które są ważne z punktu widzenia użytkownika a mianowicie na szybkości procesora, przepustowości RAM i pamięci masowej, szybkości generowania obrazu przez procesor graficzny oraz czasie dostępu do urządzeń. Na potrzeby analizy została stworzona aplikacja mobilna do pomiaru wyżej wymienionych elementów. Postawione w artykule hipotezy badawcze zostały zweryfikowane i częściowo udowodnione.
This article presents time analysis of performance of Windows 10 and Windows 8.1. Presented research was mainly focused on performance comparison of mobile device system elements which are relevant from end user point of view like main processor, RAM and mass storage throughput, image generation speed by the graphics processor and access time to devices. In order to measure the performance of the above elements a mobile benchmark application was created. The hypotheses set in the article have been verified and partially confirmed.

Opis:
This article deals with the fatigue properties of newly used AlZn10Si8Mg aluminium alloy where the main aim was to determine the fatigue strength and compare it with the fatigue strength of AlSi7Mg0.3 secondary aluminium alloys which is used in the automotive industry for cyclically loaded components. AlZn10Si8Mg aluminium alloy, also called UNIFONT 90, is self-hardening (without heat treatments), which contributes to economic efficiency. This is one of the main reasons why is compared, and may be an alternative replacement for AlSi7Mg0.3 alloy which is heat treated to achieve required mechanical properties. The experiment results show that the fatigue properties of AlZn10Si8Mg alloy are comparable, if not better, than AlSi7Mg0.3 alloy. Fatigue properties of AlZn10Si8Mg alloy are achieved after seven days of natural ageing, immediately after casting and achieving value of fatigue strength is caused by structural components formed during solidification of the melt.

W sposób dosłowny tekst Pnp 8,10 powinien zostać przetłumaczony: „I stałam się w jego oczach jako ta, która znajduje pokój”. Główne problemy translatorskie i interpretacyjne dotyczą idiomatycznego wyrażenia hebrajskiego: „znaleźć łaskę w czyichś oczach” oraz znaczenia hebrajskiego terminu shalom. Artykuł analizuje różne sugestie translatorskie w Biblii wydanej w języku angielskim, portugalskim, francuskim, niemieckim i polskim oraz prezentuje własną propozycję: „znalazłam szczęście w jego oczach”.
From a purely literal standpoint, Song 8:10 is properly translated as: „I became in his eyes as one finding peace”. However, the main problems of translation and interpretation here have to do with the similarity between the Hebrew idiomatic formula „to find favor in someones eyes” and the meaning of the Hebrew word „shalom”. We analyze different suggestions for translation of the passage as found in published Bibles in English, Portuguese, French, German and Polish. Finally, we present our own proposal for a truer rendering: „I found happiness in his eyes”.

Opis:
Cyclodextrin (CD) is a cyclic compound with a spatial structure in the shape of a toroid. It is characterized by specific properties. The outer portion of the structure has hydrophilic properties, while the cavity of the toroid is hydrophobic. This enables cyclodextrin to form inclusion complexes with the enclosure of lipophilic molecules in the interior. This paper presents the results of attempts to form a complex of γ-CD/CL-20. This study determined unambiguously that a γ-CD with CL-20 complex in a mole ratio 1:1 is formed as a result of mixing of solutions of γ-CD and CL-20. This conclusion was corroborated by FTIR, 1H NMR, UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques and by measurement of the density of the complex obtained. The resulting complex of γ-CD/CL-20 is characterized by much lower sensitivity to friction and impact than CL-20 itself.

The study presents the results of research into the impact of strain in cold drawing and surface modification treatment on corrosion properties of wires made of X10CrNi 18-8 steel used in maxillofacial surgery. Scanning microscopy enabled to make images of the surface of wires after drawing process as well as after surface modification treatment. Resistance to electrochemical corrosion was evaluated on the ground of registered anodic polarisation curves in artificial saliva. In order to evaluate physical and chemical properties of the surface, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was performed. Test results show deterioration of corrosion properties of wires along with strain taking place in drawing process. It was proved that electrochemical polishing and chemical passivation caused sudden increase of resistance of wires made of stainless steel to pitting corrosion in artificial saliva.
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań nad wpływem odkształcenia w procesie ciągnienia na zimno oraz zabiegów modyfikacji powierzchni na właściwości korozyjne drutów wykonanych ze stali X10CrNi 18-8 przeznaczonych do zabiegów chirurgii twarzowo - szczękowej. Przy pomocy mikroskopii skaningowej zobrazowano powierzchnię drutów zarówno po procesie ciągnienia, jak i po zabiegach obróbki powierzchniowej. Odporność na korozję elektrochemiczną oceniano na podstawie rejestracji krzywych polaryzacji anodowej w roztworze sztucznej śliny. W celu oceny właściwości fizykochemicznych powierzchni przeprowadzono elektrochemiczną spektroskopię impedancyjną. Wyniki badań wskazują na pogorszenie właściwości korozyjnych drutów wraz z zachodzącym w procesie ciągnienia umocnieniem odkształceniowym. Stwierdzono, że zabiegi elektrochemicznego polerowania i chemicznej pasywacji spowodowały wzrost odporności drutów wykonanych ze stali nierdzewnej na korozję wżerową w roztworze sztucznej śliny.

The present study was carried out with the aim to evaluate the relation of the content of proinflammatory and antiinflammatory cytokines with the sperm quality indicators. The study involved 45 patients with a pathological spermogram and 15 practically healthy men. A positive correlation (r = 0.45) between the content of IL-6 and the sperm concentration in the ejaculate and a negative correlation (r = -0.42) of this cytokine with the number of live sperm were revealed. The concentration of IL-8 was positively correlated with sperm density (r = 0.52) and it was negatively correlated with the number of live sperm (r = -0.55). A positive correlation between the content of IL-10 and the sperm concentration as well as the number of active forms was observed (r = 0.45 and 0.5, respectively), and a negative correlation (r = -0.7) was observed between the ejaculate volume and the concentration of IL-10. In the obtained ejaculates, a close positive correlation between the content of IL-8 and IL-6 (r = 0.74) and between the concentration of IL-10 and IL-6 (r = 0.72) was observed. Based on the completed study, a conclusion was made that the increased level of IL-6 and IL-8 may result in the reduction of the sperm quality, and, possibly, infertility, and that IL-10 plays an important role in improving sperm parameters.

Two types of plastic bonded explosives (PBXs) based on ε-2,4,6,8,10,12hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazaisowurtzitane (ε-HNIW, CL-20), and PBXs based on 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazinane (RDX), β-1,3,4,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocane (β-HMX) and cis-1,3,4,6-tetranitro-octahydroimidazo-[4,5-d]imidazole (bicycloHMX, BCHMX) were prepared using a polyisobutylene binder with dioctylsebacate (DOS) as plasticizer, i.e. a C4 matrix. One version of the ε-HNIW PBX is a product with reduced sensitivity (RS-ε-HNIW). All these PBXs, referenced respectively as RS-ε-HNIW-C4, ε-HNIW-C4, RDX-C4, HMX-C4 and BCHMX-C4, were tested using the Small Scale Gap Test according to STANAG 4488. The results of the gap test on the PBXs with RDX, β-HMX and BCHMX correspond to the impact sensitivities of the original crystalline nitramines. This is not entirely valid for ε-HNIW. In other words, PBXs with RS-ε-HNIW cannot achieve as low a shock sensitivity as would be expected from the differences obtained from the impact sensitivities between RDX, β-HMX and BCHMX, on the one hand, and RS-εHNIW on the other. It is shown that the morphological stability of RS-ε-HNIW in the C4 matrix is insufficient. However, further development and use of RS-ε-HNIW as a filler of PBXs would seem to be both desirable and beneficial. Despite the relatively high impact sensitivity of crystalline BCHMX, the shock sensitivity of its analogous C4 PBX is already good, and comparable with that of RS-ε-HNIW.

The noun heḇel is the most characteristic term in the whole Book of Ecclesiastes. Because of this word, many people perceive the book as the one which deals primarily with vanity and which posits that everything is futile (cf. 1:2 and 12:8). The present article aims to answer the question posed in its title: Does Qoheleth really claim human life to be futile? The first part of the article comprises the analysis of the noun heḇel in the Old Testament. Subsequently, the word’s usage and meaning in the Book of Ecclesiastes are explored. The final part of the article analyzes the texts that make use of the word heḇel to speak about human life (namely, 3:19; 6:4-12; 7:15; 9:9; 11:8-10). The interpretation of these texts and the supporting arguments resulting from the analyses conducted by other scholars (e.g. C.L. Seow, L. Mazzinghi, K. Bardski, G. Ravasi, A. Bonora, T. Krüger i L . Schwienhorst-Schönberger) lead to the conclusion that Qoheleth does not judge human life as futile. What he claims instead is that human life is brief, transient and passes quickly.

The influence of the reaction conditions on 4,10-dinitro-2,6,8,12-tetraoxa- 4,10-diazatetracyclo[5.5.0.05,903,11]dodecane (TEX) yield was studied. TEX was prepared by the reaction of 1,4-diformyl-2,3,5,6-tetrahydroxypiperazine with glyoxal in nitric acid. The influence of the acidity of reaction mixture and ratios of starting materials on the yield of TEX was examined and synthesis was optimised. The highest yield (37%) was obtained at 1,4-diformyl-2,3,5,6-tetrahydroxypiperazine/nitric acid molar ratio 67 and sulfuric acid/nitric acid molar ratio around 0.15. Starting material 1,4-diformyl-2,3,5,6-tetrahydroxypiperazine was prepared from formamide and glyoxal using triethylamine or other tertiary amines to adjust suitable basicity. The best yield (84%) of 1,4-diformyl-2,3,5,6-tetrahydroxypiperazine was reached at molar ratio triethylamine/formamide equal to 0.1.

Opis:
This paper shows possibility of utilization ether derivatives of (8E,10Z)-tetradeca-8,10-dienal [2-((7E,9Z)-trideca-7,9-dienyl)-1,3-dioxan (2) and 2-((7E,9Z)-trideca-7,9-dienyl)-4-hydroxy-6-heptyl-5-hexyl-1,3-dioxan (3)] as potential lures for monitoring of horse-chestnut leafminer population. The both propheromones were synthesized at the Institute of Industrial Organic Chemistry (IPO) and then tested in 2006/07 on field trials at several different sites on terrain of Mazovian province. Within the scope of these investigations, acetal 2 was checked at different doses (10, 100, 500 μg) by the pheromone trapping technique, and aldoxane 3 was used both in pheromone trapping (at the dose 50 μg) and mating disruption technique. The good attractiveness properties were obtained for both tested compounds. However, the dose of 2-((7E,9Z)-trideca-7,9-dienyl)-1,3-dioxan had to be a 10 times higher than dose of aldoxane for the same good activity.
