The nucleation and movement of the 180° domain walls in (CH$\text{}_{3}$NH$\text{}_{3}$)$\text{}_{5}$Bi$\text{}_{2}$Br$\text{}_{11}$ crystals has been investigated by means of liquid crystals. The various shapes of domains during the polarization reversal has been observed and discussed, considering that the type of nucleation is the controlling factor in the propagation of the walls.

The domain nucleation and growth during switching process in telluric acid ammonium phosphate crystals has been investigated by nematic liquid crystal decoration technique. The domain configuration arising during polarization reversal has been discussed, considering that the type of nucleation is the controlling factor in the propagation of the domain walls.

Growth and shrinkage of domains in sodium nitrite crystals are investigated in a wide range of electric fields using the liquid crystal method. The rhombic shape of domains in the growing process and the lenticular shape of domains in the shrinking process are observed and discussed.

Dielectric properties of [N(CH$\text{}_{3}$)$\text{}_{4}$]$\text{}_{3}$Bi$\text{}_{2}$X$\text{}_{9}$ (X = Cl, Br) single crystals were measured in the frequency range 1 kHz - 1 MHz in the vicinity of structural phase transitions of first-order type at 152 K (Cl) and 183 K (Br). The pyroelectric effect was observed in [N(CH$\text{}_{3}$)$\text{}_{4}$]$\text{}_{3}$Bi$\text{}_{2}$[N(CH$\text{}_{3}$)$\text{}_{4}$]$\text{}_{3}$Bi$\text{}_{2}$Cl$\text{}_{9}$ at structural phase transition (T$\text{}_{c}$ = 152 K) with the ΔP$\text{}_{s}$ of the order of 10$\text{}^{-5}$ C m$\text{}^{-2}$. Polarized microscope observations show appearance of ferroelectric domain structure in [N(CH$\text{}_{3}$)$\text{}_{4}$]$\text{}_{3}$Bi$\text{}_{2}$Br$\text{}_{9}$ within the low temperature phase.

Opis:
Different optical energy gaps in ferroelectric and paraelectric phases as well as light scattering on domain walls allow to observe ferroelectric domains in antimony sulfoiodide (SbSI) near the Curie temperature. Mobility 8.11(44)× $10^{-8}$ $m^2$/(Vs) of ferroelectric domain walls under external electric field has been determined along c-axis of SbSI single crystals using optical transmittance microscopy.

Recently, a precession X-ray study has discovered that ferroelectric $BaTiO_3$ single crystals have a coherent hybrid structure that consists of tetragonal and monoclinic lattices that share the (101) face of the tetragonal [11, 12]. Microscopic observations attest that the single crystal has two kinds of stripes (dark and white regions). Raman spectra of all sides of the cubic crystal have been collected at several scattering configurations. Two kinds of domains have been observed by the Raman measurements within the stripes, which are identified as light and dark spots under the optical microscope. The spectra structures and line widths are strongly affected when the laser direction is parallel to the b-axes and the polarization parallel to the a- or c-axes of the 90° domain (ac-side). It appears that there is a symmetry reduction and disorder, which affects the Raman active phonons. The results are in agreement with the coexistence of the two (tetragonal and monoclinic) lattices.

The present work investigates the influence of laser scribing of grain-oriented silicon steel on the improvement of its soft magnetic properties via magnetic domains modification. The experimental material was represented by conventional Fe-3%Si grain-oriented electrical steel that was taken directly from industrial line after the final box annealing. The laser scribing treatments were applied onto the material surface in order to induce thermal stresses having crucial influence on the magnetic domains refinement. The laser scribing conditions have been optimized by introducing thermal stresses onto the experimental material surface leading to optimal refinement of final domains structures and desired magnetic softness minimization. A semiquantitative relationship has been found between the domain patterns and the used fiber laser treating method. The obtained modified domain structure led to a significant decrease in coercivity measured in DC magnetic field from 20 A/m to 12 A/m.

Interactions of domain walls are analyzed with relevance to formation of stationary bubbles (bound state of two domain walls) and bound states of many domains in one-dimensional systems. We investigate the domain structures in ferromagnets which are described with the Landau-Lifshitz equation as well as the domains in critical systems described with the Ginzburg-Landau equation. Supplementing previous author studies on the creation of hard bubbles [formed by one Bloch domain wall and one Néel (Ising) domain wall] in the presence of an external (magnetic) field, the soft bubbles consisting of two Bloch domain walls or two Néel (Ising) domain walls are studied in detail. The interactions of two domain walls of the same kind are studied in the framework of a perturbation calculus.
