Proton and fluorine spin-lattice relaxation times as well as second moments were measured in guanidinium hexafluorogallate over a wide range of temperature. The analysis of all cross-relaxation effects occurring in the four unlike spin system revealed two cation motions and yielded their activation parameters. It was found that the anion size did not influence C$\text{}_{3}$ reorientation of cation nor isotropic reorientation of anion.

High power proton relaxometry was applied to investigate the liquid phase contained in porous rock. Proton free induction decays and spin-lattice relaxation times allowed us to investigate the pore distribution and the contribution of mobile and of immobilized liquid. The differences in pore distributions in oil-containing limestone and in Węglowicki sandstone were found. The fractal exponent for pore distribution in Węglowicki sandstone was fitted using both stretched exponential and modified stretched exponential models. The results of both approaches are compared.

A set of stretched isotactic polypropylene fibres prepared with the draw ratio λ = 2.5 at different temperatures was investigated by $\text{}^1H$ pulsed relaxation NMR method and continuous wave spectroscopy. Both, drawing and temperature of drawing influence physical properties of isotactic polypropylene fibres. NMR technique is shown to be advantageous for the study of these changes on molecular level since the shape of broad-line NMR spectra and processes of the NMR relaxation depend on the spatial configuration and motions of the resonating nuclei.

Opis:
We present the study of spin dynamics of KEr(MoO₄)₂ in the magnetic field applied along the hard axis c. The temperature dependence of AC susceptibility in zero magnetic field studied at frequencies f=10, 100, and 1000 Hz indicated the absence of relaxation in the temperature range from 2 to 20 K. Application of magnetic field induced a slow magnetic relaxation, which was investigated in detail in the field 0.5 T. The highest intensity of the relaxation process, reflected by the values of imaginary susceptibility was observed at 2 K. With increasing temperature, the relaxation process is weaker and vanishes completely above 3.5 K. Corresponding Cole-Cole diagrams were constructed and analyzed within a single relaxation process which can be associated with a direct relaxation process with a bottleneck effect, τ ≈1/T^b, and b=1.4. The slow relaxation at 2 K intensifies with increasing magnetic field at least up to 1 T.

The present work is devoted to the magnetic relaxation study of the single crystal CsNd(MoO₄)₂ a layered rare-earth dimolybdate. AC susceptibility measurements performed in magnetic fields up to B=5 T applied along the easy and hard axis with frequency f ≈1 kHz revealed rather complex field-induced slow magnetic relaxation. Two relaxation regimes in different magnetic field intervals connected with magnetic interactions and possible single-ion relaxation mechanism were observed.

In the framework of the matrix product state representation the effect of a sudden turning on of the uniaxial anisotropy on the time evolution of the Haldane state has been investigated. Depending on the value of the uniaxial anisotropy parameter, the calculations were derived within (or outside) the region where the Haldane gap survives. An exact expression for the time evolution of the Loschmidt echo has been derived and, moreover, its collapse and revival behaviour was captured. In addition, the non-local order parameter of a time evolving state was tracked, revealing two types of relaxations.

Opis:
The role of anisotropic rotation for electron spin resonance lineshape and nuclear magnetic relaxation dispersion profiles for paramagnetic molecules with electron spin quantum number S ≥ 1 is discussed. The ESR spectra and nuclear magnetic relaxation dispersion profiles are calculated by means of an approach based on the stochastic Liouville equation and referred to in the literature as "Swedish slow motion theory". This description is valid for arbitrary motional conditions and interaction strengths. Molecular tumbling influences the ESR spectra by modulating zero field splitting interactions. The nuclear spin relaxation is affected by the rotational motion in a twofold way: via the electron spin dynamics and as a direct source of modulations of the electron-nuclear dipole-dipole interactions. For coinciding principal axes systems of the permanent (residual, static) zero field splitting and rotational tensors the ESR lineshape is not affected by rotational anisotropy. Rotational anisotropy is important for nuclear relaxation as it is influenced by molecular rotation not only via the electron spin dynamics, but also directly by modulations of the electron spin-nuclear spin dipole-dipole interaction (when the dipole-dipole and zero field splitting frames do not coincide). The anisotropy effects depend strongly on the relative orientation of the dipole-dipole and permanent zero field splitting axes. Nevertheless, a different scenario is also possible. When the diffusion axis coincides with the dipole-dipole axis (but not with the principal axis system of the permanent zero field splitting), the nuclear spin relaxation as well as the ESR lineshape, become sensitive to the rotational anisotropy. The possible dependence of the ESR lineshape and nuclear spin relaxation on the rotational anisotropy should be carefully considered when attempting a joint analysis of ESR and nuclear magnetic relaxation dispersion results for paramagnetic molecules.

Opis:
The paper complements our earlier NMR investigation of molecular dynamics of tert-butyl chloride restricted by geometries of the type MCM-41 and CPG by the new sizes of CPG and by differential scanning calorimetry method. We report proton and deuteron NMR lineshapes and the spin-lattice relaxation results of tert-butyl chloride in CPG of the 15.6 nm and 7.4 nm pore diameter in the temperature range 70 K≤ T≤ 292 K. The bulk-like component of the confined tert-butyl chloride, in temperatures corresponding to phase III, is interpreted as a composition of two dynamically different subphases. The parameters of motions of both subphases are derived. The tert-butyl group motion in both subphases is more restricted than in the bulk tert-butyl chloride, although the activation energies are lower. Differential scanning calorimetry was used to determine temperatures of the phase transitions (140 K≤T≤292 K). The results show that the depression of the phase transition temperature is pore size dependent and that the confinement has less influence on transition to the plastic phase than on the freezing and on the solid II - solid III transition.

Opis:
In this paper, the effect of the post-annealing on the dielectric properties of SrTiO₃ thin films (200 nm) grown by ion beam sputtering has been investigated. The measured dielectric constant dramatically increased after the post-annealing which is a consequence of the formation of the perovskite phase. A low frequency relaxation mechanism is clearly identified in the amorphous state of this material. Once crystallized, a second relaxation mechanism of lower amplitude is detected at high frequencies and for high measuring temperature. It is assumed that this second relaxation process is related to the space charges bound at the grain boundaries, whereas the first one was assigned to the thermally activated motions of the ionized oxygen vacancies and interfacial polarization under alternating field.
