Opis:: Each subsequent generation of wireless standards imposes stricter spectral and energy eﬃciency demands. So far, layered wireless transceiver architectures have been used, allowing for instance to separate channel decoding algorithms from the front-end design. Such an approach may need to be reconsidered in the upcoming 6G era. Especially hardware-originated distortions have to be taken into account while designing other layer algorithms, as high throughput and energy eﬃciency requirements will push these devices to their limits, revealing their non-linear characteristics. In such a context, this paper will shed some light on the new degrees of freedom enjoyed while cross-layer designing as well as controlling multicarrier and multiantenna transceivers in 6G systems.

Opis:: Study aim: The aim of the study was to show changes in the activity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) in winter swimmers between the end (April) and beginning of the consecutive winter swimming season (November). Material and methodology: The study group consisted of 16 winter swimmers (non-training males) from the Krakow “Kaloryfer” [Radiators] Winter Swimming Club, regularly undergoing submersion in cold water at a temperature of 2-7.2ºC for a maximum of three minutes during the winter swimming season. The tests were carried out at the end and before the beginning of the following winter season using the method of spectrophotometry. Results: Analysing the average values of enzymes after (April) and before the next (November) winter bathing season, there was a decrease in the activity of AChE [U/gHb] by 18.26% and G-6-PD [U/gHb] by 22.11% in men undergoing winter baths. Conclusions: Regular use of winter bath treatments results in increased enzyme activity: AChE and G-6-PD; and while break in winter swimming reduces the activity of these enzymes.
Cel badań: Celem pracy było wykazanie zmian aktywności acetylocholinesterazy (AChE) i dehydrogenazy glukozo-6-fosforanowej (G-6-PD) u „Morsów” między końcem (kwiecień) a początkiem następnego sezonu morsowego (listopad). Materiał i metodyka: Grupę badaną stanowiło 16 „Morsów” (nietrenujący mężczyźni) z Krakowskiego Klubu Morsów „Kaloryfer”, regularnie poddający się zanurzeniu w zimnej wodzie o temperaturze 2-7,2ºC na czas nie dłuższy niż 3 minuty podczas sezonu morsowego. Badania przeprowadzano po zakończeniu oraz przed rozpoczęciem kolejnego sezonu zimowego przy użyciu metody spektrofotometrycznej. Wyniki: Analizując średnie wartości enzymów po (kwiecień) i przed kolejnym (listopad) sezonem zimowych kąpieli zanotowano zmniejszenie aktywności AChE [U/gHb] o 18,26% i G-6-PD [U/gHb] o 22,11% u mężczyzn korzystających z zimowych kąpieli. Wnioski: Regularne korzystanie z zabiegów zimowych kąpieli wpływa na zwiększenie aktywności enzymów: AChE i G-6-PD, a przerwa w morsowaniu powoduje obniżenie aktywności tych enzymów.

Opis:: In this research, the effect of temperature change on the fluorescence intensity for Rhodamine 6G (Rh6G) in acetone from room temperature to freezing point of solvent by using liquid nitrogen was studied experimentally and theoretically. As we have noted that the increased temperature led to less intensity and increasingly broader spectrum. We estimate theoretical model for this effect, and the theoretical equation was Extra Val equation.

The results obtained highlight the beneﬁts and challenges related to using the aforementioned mobile BS, from the energy-related point of view. The speciﬁc cases researched involved two types of UAV devices, i.e. multirotor and ﬁxed-wing (airplane-like) aircraft.

Opis:: Nowadays, there is a trend to employ adaptive solutions in mobile communication. The adaptive transmission systems seem to answer the need for highly reliable communication that serves high data rates. For efficient adaptive transmission, the future Channel State Information (CSI) has to be known. The various prediction methods can be applied to estimate the future CSI. However, each method has its bottlenecks. The task is even more challenging while considering the future 5G/6G communication where the employment of sub-6 GHz and millimetre waves (mmWaves) in narrow-band, wide-band and ultra-wide-band transmission is considered. Thus, author describes the differences between sub-6 GHz/mmWave and narrow-band/wide-band/ultra-wide-band channel prediction, provide a comprehensive overview of available prediction methods, discuss its performance and analyse the opportunity to use them in sub-6 GHz and mmWave systems. We select Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) as the most promising technique for future CSI prediction and propose optimising two of its parameters - the number of input features, which was not yet considered as an opportunity to improve the performance of CSI prediction, and the number of hidden layers.

Opis:: This paper is a study of G6PD activity in malaria-infected children in Owerri. Blood samples were collected from fifty-one (51) children hospitalized in the Federal Medical Center (FMC) and analyzed using standard Medical Laboratory methods. Results revealed that out of the 51 children examined (26 males and 25 females), 39, representing 76.47% of the total malaria infected children numbers, were G6PD deficient, while 12, representing 23.53%, had normal G6PD. Two different plasmodium species and their percentage occurrences were observed. These were: Plasmodium falciparum (78.43%) and Plasmodium malariae (21.57%). The work indicated that male children were more (P < 0.05) deficient than females, with percentage levels of 61.53% and 38.47%, respectively. In addition, children between the ages of 49-60 months was observed to be more (P < 0.05) G6PD deficient (with percentage of 25.64%), while those between 0-12 months were least G6PD deficient (with percentage of 8.3% (P < 0.05)). As being afflicted with malaria carries a high risk of Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency in children, there is, therefore, urgent need for public enlightenment on public health implications, need for proper hygiene, as well as a need for strategies for preventing and controlling mosquito populations

Opis:: Vibrational studies of amino acids experimentally and theoretically have been performed. The Semi-empirical methods optimization by PM6 and RM1 on the l- and d-amino acids (alanine, phenylalanine, aspartic and glutamic acid), showed no difference in energy between l-and d-isomers. The vibrational frequencies were calculated by semi-emprical methods (PM6 and RM1) and ab initio methods (B3LYP/6-31+G(d) and were scaled down by factors of 0.925 (RM1), 1.09 (PM6) and 0.89 (B3LYP/6-31+G(d)). The calculated and experimental vibrational frequencies have shown good general agreement.

Opis:: After the collapse of the Cold War we have been observing sudden changes in tactics and ways the wars and conflicts are waged. Increasing mutual penetration and combining of regular and irregular war techniques has been noticeable. Current military conflicts, both regional and with broader range, are characterized by complexity of all possible warfare means and their practical usage. This diversity of elements included in destructive actions has become extremely popular subject of political and media discussions and has currently been defined as hybrid activities or hybrid war. It has to be clear that the West in broader sense has entered the most stormy era of the aggressive confrontation to overthrow fundamental basis of democratic models and institutions. Asymmetric and hybrid warfare makes it possible that even less mighty players are able to carry out many effective strikes despite of a lack of enough military potential, and in some favorable circumstances to take initiative both on tactical as well as on strategic level.
Po zakończeniu zimnej wojny można zaobserwować gwałtowne zmiany w taktyce i prowadzeniu konfliktów oraz wojen. Zauważalne stało się narastające wzajemne przenikanie się, a także łączenie technik, wojny regularnej i nieregularnej. Współczesne konflikty militarne zarówno o charakterze regionalnym, jak i znacznie szerszym zasięgu cechuje kompleksowość zastosowania i praktycznego wykorzystania wszelkich możliwych środków walki. Ta różnorodność elementów wchodzących w taką formę prowadzonej działalności destrukcyjnej stała się niezwykle popularnym tematem dyskursu politycznego i publicystycznego oraz została współcześnie zdefiniowana jako d z i a ł a n i a h y b r y d o w e lub w o j n a h y b r y d o w a . Należy jasno zdać sobie sprawę z tego, że szeroko rozumiany Zachód wkroczył w bodaj najbardziej burzliwą erę agresywnej konfrontacji, która ma na celu obalenie fundamentalnych podstaw demokratycznych modeli i instytucji. Asymetryczno-hybrydowa sztuka wojenna umożliwia bowiem także mniej potężnym graczom przeprowadzenie wielu efektywnych uderzeń pomimo braku odpowiedniego potencjału militarnego i w pewnych sprzyjających okolicznościach przejęcie inicjatywy zarówno na poziomie taktycznym, jak i strategicznym.
