Opis:
In this paper, the dependence of some important parameters in fiber lasers such as propagation constant, normalized frequency or V No. and waveguide dispersion with temperature has been investigated analytically. We showed that the thermal effects cannot be neglected in the above parameters especially in middle and high power regime.

Opis:
In this paper, as the first the rate equations in end-pumped fiber laser have been solved analytically with minimum approximation and the output power versus input power has been derived. Then, the heat conduction equation in the fiber which is in operation has been solved and the temperature distribution has been derived. The results were applied for a Yb-doped fiber laser and discussed.

Opis:
In this paper, the temperature distribution in fiber lasers pumped by multi diode bars located in out-of-fiber axis has been investigated semi-analytically. For this reason, we consider heat deposition in fiber lasers due to pump and the nonhomogeneous heat conduction equation has been solved by using Green function method in a cylindrical coordinate system. Our model has been used for single, double and multi pumped configuration and, for a typical fiber lasers, the results have been plotted and discussed.

Opis:
This paper describes the all-fiber dual-wavelength thulium ytterbium co-doped fiber laser by using a newly developed octagonal shaped double-clad thulium-ytterbium co-doped fiber as gain medium in conjunction with spatial filtering effect. The thulium ytterbium co-doped fiber laser operates at wavelengths of 1990.64 nm and 1998.92 nm with a signal to noise ratio of more than 34 dB as the 980 nm multimode pump power is increased above a threshold value of 1.5 W. The slope efficiency of the dual-wavelength laser is measured to be around 26.16%, which is comparable with the conventional thulium laser pumped by 800 nm single mode pump.

Opis:
Stability and effects of optical injection locking in semiconductor ring laser is modeled in detail. It is verified that the injection locking in slave semiconductor ring laser depends on detuning frequency and external optical injection ratio between the master laser and the slave semiconductor ring laser. The stability of injection was locked using the resonance frequency and damping factor. The parasitic phase modulation response due to amplitude modulation (chirp response) is derived and simulated. Similarly parasitic amplitude modulation due to phase modulation response is also investigated.

Opis:
It has been successfully investigated for the first time that strength of optical injection locking also depends on the size of semiconductor ring laser. Theoretical study for frequency response of optical injection locking semiconductor ring laser in the master slave configuration using direct, amplitude and phase modulation of master laser is discussed. In the unidirectional regime the locking range of semiconductor ring laser becomes wider when semiconductor ring laser with smaller size is used. Simulation results predict an incredible enhancement in the modulation bandwidth (> 500 GHz) of the slave semiconductor ring laser when used with smaller laser cavity length (50 μm) in the stable unidirectional regime.
