Opis:
Magnetic measurements of $HoAl_{2}$ are reported. The compound crystallizes in the cubic $MgCu_{2}$-type crystal structure. $HoAl_{2}$ exhibits two successive magnetic transitions: below $T_{c}$ = 29 K a ferromagnetic order is formed while anomaly at $T_{t}$ = 20 K is related to reorientation of magnetic moment. Near transition temperatures a magnetocaloric effect with magnetic entropy changes -$ΔS_{m}$ equal to 6.3 J/(mol K) at $T_{c}$ and 5.0 J/(mol K) at $T_{t}$ for an external field $μ_{0}H$ = 9 T is observed.

In this report, a study of the electrical behavior for the Metal/a-SiC/poly-Si(n) structure, appears. Different thicknesses of a-SiC:H thin films are considered; in specific the a-SiC:H layer thickness is varied between 100 Å up to 800 Å. The 2-D ATLAS advanced numerical simulator has been utilized in order to simulate the material's electrical behavior and produce the reported hereby results. The study of the I-V (current-voltage) characteristics of these Metal/α-SiC:H/poly-Si(N) structures, reveals a very interesting hysteretic behavior that is a function of the a-SiC:H thin-film thickness. Such materials have lately raised the engineering community's interest because of their possible utilization as memristive elements.

Opis:
In this paper, a novel pulsed power generator based on IGBT stacks is proposed for wide pulsed power applications. Because it can generate high voltage pulsed output without any step-up transformer or pulse forming network, it has advantages of fast rising time, easiness of pulse width variation, high repetition rate and rectangular pulse shapes. Proposed scheme consists of multiple power stages which were charged parallel from series resonant power inverter. Depending on the number of power stages it can increase maximum voltage up to 60 kV or higher with no limits of power stages. To reduce component for gate power supply, a simple and robust gate drive circuit which delivers gate power and gate signal simultaneously by way of one high voltage cable is proposed. For gating signal and power a full bridge inverter and pulse transformer generates on-off signals of IGBT gating with gate power simultaneously and it has very good characteristics of protection of IGBT switches over arcing condition. It can be used for various kinds of pulse power application such as plasma source ion implantation, sterilization, water and gas treatment which requires few kHz pulse repetition rate with few to ten of microseconds pulse width.

Transport and thermodynamic properties of the well-ordered hexagonal CeAuGe compound have been studied. This compound is known to order ferromagnetically at $T_{C}$ = 10 K with well-defined anomalies in magnetic susceptibility χ(T), electrical resistivity ρ(T) and specific heat $C_p(T)$ characterising the phase transition. The location of $T_{C}$ has been observed to be unstable and enhanced even in moderate applied magnetic fields. However, the dilution of magnetic species, Ce, with the non-f electron element, La, is shown in this work to achieve a continuous suppression of $T_{C}$ to 0 K. The integrity of the space group and the details of the unit cell occupation are retained throughout the substitution series, as is the high-temperature localized Ce-effective magnetic moment $μ_{eff}$ = 2.54 $μ_{B}$/(mol Ce). Our studies of physical properties down to 0.05 K show a quantum critical form of non-Fermi liquid behaviour, characterised by a logarithmic divergence in $C_p(T)$/T data in the very dilute Ce content.

The paper presents the optical sensor which is built for EyeTracker operating in car harsh environment. The sensor is based on USB high speed video infrared camera. Additional hardware was designed for control and emission of infrared light as well. The designed hardware and software of the sensor are described in the paper. We report on the basic physical properties of a novel $CeCo_{0.715}Si_{2.285}$ compound, mainly its rich magnetic phase diagram. The compound crystallizes in the I-4m2 space group structure with extremely elongated unit cell (a = 4.12 Å, c = 32.84 Å). In a zero magnetic field it orders antiferromagnetically at $T_{N}$ = 10.5 K with another order-to-order transition at 9.5 K. Under application of a magnetic field along the c-axis it manifests numerous magnetic transitions in small fields (B < 500 mT), resembling the so-called "devil's staircase" systems. Above 1 T the magnetization is almost constant up to 14 T (maximum magnetic field applied within our study) but considerably reduced (0.3 $μ_B$/Ce) with respect to the free $Ce^{3+}$ ion. After removing the applied field, however, the high field state remains unchanged to be removed in negative fields. The compound also exhibits strong hysteresis of magnetization with respect to varying temperature or magnetic field. For fields applied along the a-axis typical behavior for the hard axis in the material with uniaxial anisotropy is observed.

The results of magnetic susceptibility and heat capacity measurements are reported for the Ce₄RuAl compound above room temperature to low temperature range (400 K to 0.34 K) and in the magnetic field up to 7 T. The magnetic susceptibility χ(T) exhibits a distinct anomaly at 0.95 K which most probably suggests a paramagnetic to antiferromagnetic phase transition. The magnetic susceptibility obeys the Curie-Weiss law in the region 100-400 K and revealed an effective magnetic moment $μ_{eff}$=2.18 $μ_{B}$/Ce which is less than the value for free Ce³⁺ ($μ_{eff}$=2.54 $μ_{B}$). The paramagnetic Weiss temperature indicates net antiferromagnetic correlations. In the specific heat a peak at 1.3 K supports the bulk nature of the phase transition observed in χ(T). The Sommerfield coefficient is moderately enhanced in the paramagnetic phase, and suggests f-c correlations among the electrons prior to magnetic ordering. The obtained Sommerfield coefficient γ behavior is consistent with the Anderson model-based theoretical predictions.

The Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya anisotropy, responsible for helimagnetism in $Ba_{2}CuGe_{2}O_{7}$, has recently been shown to comprise also a weak-ferromagnetic component. We theoretically demonstrate the signatures of weak-ferromagnetism in the magnon spectrum when a magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the z axis. We also anticipate the occurrence of unconventional domain walls in the so-called intermediate phase, and briefly elucidate the importance of the weak ferromagnetic component of the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya anisotropy for the dynamics of driven domain walls.

Opis:
The two-state spinless Falicov-Kimball model on a one-dimensional lattice is studied by means of well-controlled numerical procedures. Restricted phase diagrams in the grand-canonical ensemble and at zero temperature are constructed. The evolution of these phase diagrams, as the interaction parameter U is varied, including the band structures corresponding to configurations of localized particles (ions) and densities of mobile particles (electrons), is monitored. The changes observed enable us to draw conclusions for the global structure of the phase diagram and to make a qualitative plot of such a diagram. Particular attention is paid to the possibility of conductor-insulator transitions. The results obtained suggest that the system is an insulator for all U only if the electron and ion densities ρ$\text{}_{e}$,ρ$\text{}_{i}$ satisfy the conditions: ρ$\text{}_{e}$ + ρ$\text{}_{i}$ = 1, |ρ$\text{}_{i}$ - 1/2| ≤ δ < 1/2. For all other pairs (ρ$\text{}_{e}$,ρ$\text{}_{i}$) there is a critical U at which the system undergoes a conductor-insulator transition.

The effect of a replacing La by Ce in Gd$\text{}_{0.9}$La$\text{}_{0.1}$Cu$\text{}_{6}$ was investigated by ESR method. It was found that cerium ions cause an increase in the conduction electron relaxation to the lattice and change the conduction electron band structure.

The individual Co site contributions to the magnetocrystalline anisotropy in RCo$\text{}_{5}$, RCo$\text{}_{4}$B and R$\text{}_{3}$Co$\text{}_{11}$B$\text{}_{4}$ compounds have been studied. An analysis is given of the room temperature anisotropy constants of these compounds by using a model of Streever. The values of the rare earth-transition metal exchange coupling J$\text{}_{RCo}$/k$\text{}_{B}$ derived by mean field analysis of the Curie temperatures are -11.2 K, -15 K and -20.9 K, respectively. In general, a decrease in J$\text{}_{RCo}$/k$\text{}_{B}$ with increasing Co concentration is observed.

Opis:
Proper choice of measuring geometry and experimental setup of nuclear instrumentation modules and photomultipliers is a key element which affects substantial positron lifetime measurement properties: count rate and time resolution. An adequate compromise must be found, when it comes to geometry of measurement. The optimal geometry using three detector layout is inspected in this paper. During our work, we concentrated on the simulation of XP2020Q photomultipliers and the BaF₂ scintillator material. The Geant4 simulation allows to estimate an influence of the measuring geometry on detection efficiency and to choose the most appropriate crystals dimensions and positions. As mentioned in paper of Bečvaŕ et al., slight changes in geometry result in distortion or improvement of measured results. Experimental results already showed, changes of start crystals dimensions can result in significant increase in count rate of three-detector measurement.

Simulation, modeling and characterization of the aluminum ion implantation in 4H-SiC for large-area photodiode technology have been presented in this paper. Optical magnons should occur in magnets containing two in-equivalent magnetic species only. However, Heisenberg interactions between in-equivalent magnetic atoms can be expected to be weak. This is because free exchange of electrons between chemically different magnetic atoms appears not generally possible. To the best of our knowledge optical magnons have never been identified unambiguously experimentally. Confusion is provided by the fact that two magnon branches commonly occur in antiferromagnets with ferromagnetically ordered crystallographic planes and opposite spin orientations from plane to plane. This applies to MnO, EuTe, CoCl₂, Fe₂O₃, K₂FeF₄. Associated with the ferromagnetic planes is a particular low-energy magnon branch. The high-energy magnon branch is the antiferromagnetic branch and not an optical magnon. In Fe₃O₄ (magnetite), weak interactions between the Fe²⁺ moments and the Fe³⁺ moments are evidenced by the fact that the order parameters of the FeO and of the Fe₂O₃ subsystem have different temperature dependencies. The observed two magnon branches can be attributed to the Fe₂O₃ and to the FeO subsystem, respectively. This applies equally to the two observed magnon branches in mixed crystals such as Rb₂Mn_{0.5}Ni_{0.5}F₄, KCo_{0.71}Mn_{0.29}F₃ or Mn_{0.3}Co_{0.7}F₂ that can be understood as modified dispersions of the constituent materials.

Opis:
In this paper, a new ultralow voltage and ultralow power voltage differencing current conveyor based on dynamic threshold voltage MOS transistors was proposed. The simulations were performed by using LTSpice Program with TSMC CMOS 0.18 μ m process parameters. A new notch filter configuration was also presented as an application for the proposed voltage differencing current conveyor. The power consumption of proposed voltage differencing current conveyor was simply 12.42 nW at symmetric ± 0.2 V supply voltage. The simulation results were found in close agreement with the theoretical results.
