There has been an increase in water demand due to the very rapid increase of the world population and industrialization in the last 200 years. However, there are limited available water resources in the world. In addition to this, some of the existing water resources have been unusable due to agricultural and industrial pollution. The need for more effective drinking water network operation becomes prominent in order to fulfil the increasing water demand. In this study, it has been aimed to decrease the leakages and prevent water loss by applying pressure management in drinking water distribution network taking the pressure in the distribution system under control.

We present results of precision measurements of magnetoresistance of isotopically pure Ho¹¹B₁₂ at low temperatures 2÷10 K in magnetic field up to 80 kOe of different orientation to the crystal axes. The data obtained revealed strong anisotropy of magnetoresistance and allowed us to reconstruct magnetic H-T phase diagrams for main crystallographic directions H || [001], [110], and [111]. Analysis of magnetoresistance derivatives allowed to conclude in favor of two main magnetoresistance contributions. Among of them the negative quadratic component is attributed to charge carriers scattering on a magnetic clusters of Ho³⁺ ions (4f component) and positive linear one may be explained in terms of scattering on a spin density waves (5d component).

In this study, the quadrupole moments of the $\text{}^{166-180}Hf,$ $\text{}^{180-186}W$ and $\text{}^{152-168}Sm$ isotopic chains have been calculated by using the Woods-Saxon mean field potential in the framework of the superfluid model of the atomic nucleus. Our calculation showed that the deformation parameter mainly used in literature overestimates the actual values of deformation parameters β₂ by 10% for the well-deformed rare-earth nuclei. Besides, the contribution of the hexadecapole deformation to all quadrupole moments in question is smaller than 0.01 barn. The results showed that the theoretical values of the quadrupole moments are in good agreement with the previous theoretical works which have been done only for Sm isotopes and the corresponding experimental data for nuclei in question. The best theoretical value for quadrupole moment has been reached for the $\text{}^{152}Sm$ isotope.

This article claims that the “passing away of heaven and earth” (Matt 5:18), until which the Torah is to be preserved whole according to Matthew, is proleptically realised during the crucifixion which is accompanied by the darkening of the sun (27:45) and earthquake (27:51b). Consequently, at that point the Torah ceases to be the central and unique legal code for Matthew and becomes mediated by Jesus’ own teaching. This claim is evidenced by Matthew’s subtle, yet sudden disinterest with the Law after the crucifixion.

2,7-Naphthyridine is one of the six structural isomers of pyridopyridines. More than one hundred years ago, Gabriel and Colman discovered the isomer 2,7-naphthyridine, and named it “copiryne” [3]. From among of all naphthyridines, the synthesis and properties of the copyrine derivatives have not yet been thoroughly investigated. This paper reviews the synthetic and natural 2,7-naphthyridine derivatives which have been reported to possess various biological activity. A large number alkaloids containing the 2,7-naphthyridine scaffold have been isolated from plants and marine organisms [13–18]. The natural marine alkaloids can be classified into two groups. The bicyclic lophocladines were isolated from the red alga Lophocladia sp. [12]. The pyridoacridines represent a large and growing class the polycyclic alkaloids from sponges, ascidians or tunicates [15, 16]. Many of this natural compounds exhibited cytotoxic, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and sedative activity. The broad spectrum of biological activity of copyrine alkaloids is the main of reason for the preparation of new 2,7-naphthyridine derivatives also by the synthetic route. So far, about fifty different methods of synthesizing the 2,7-naphthyridine ring have been published. This study described synthesis only biologically active 2,7-naphthyridine analogues. Biological investigations have shown that copyrine derivatives have a wide spectrum of actions. Antitumor, antimicrobial, analgesic and anticonvulsion activities have been found. Most of 2,7-naphthyridine derivatives have been studied as antitumor agents. Many papers described synthesis and pharmacological properties the best active and highly selective PDE5 inhibitor (T-0156) [55]. So far, none of 2,7-naphthyridine derivatives has been applied as a drug.

2,7-Naphthyridines have been the least known from all of the six structural isomers of pyridopyridines. The broad spectrum of biological activity of 2,7-naphthyridine derivatives [1] is the main of reason for obtaining of the new compounds containing this scaffold (Fig. 1). Gabriel and Colman were the first to obtain isomer 2,7-naphthyridine in 1902 and they called it ‘copiryne’ (Fig. 2) [2]. The goal of this study is the presentation of various methods for the preparation of 2,7-naphthyridine derivatives. Compounds containing copyrine scaffold can be obtained from a different substrates, but that synthesis may be classified into three main categories: from pyridine derivatives, from quinoline derivatives and from other compounds. Most of 2,7-naphthyridines have been synthesized by cyclocondensation (Scheme 5, 7–10, 13–14, 16–18, 20, 28–29, 32, 35–36) or intramolecular cyclization (Scheme 1–4, 6, 11–12, 15, 19, 21–25, 30–31, 33–34, 38) of pyridine derivatives by annulation of the other pyridine ring [3–24, 27–31]. Intramolecular rearrangement of pyrrolo [3,4-c] pyridines (Scheme 26–27) and pyrano [3,4-c] pyridine or thiopyrano [3,4-c] pyridine (Scheme 35–37) also gave the 2,7-naphthyridine scaffold [32-34]. There are also many syntheses of benzo[c][2,7]naphthyridine, benzo [f] [2,7] naphthyridine or benzo [ c,f] [2,7] naphthyridine scaffolds, in which the substrates are quinoline derivatives (Scheme 39–48) [35–43]. 2,7-naphthyridines have been least often obtained by cyclocondensation of non-cyclic substrates (Scheme 49–53) [44–49].

Opis:
Turkish Accelerator and Radiation Laboratory in Ankara (TARLA) facility is a superconducting linac-based infrared free-electron laser light source in the frame of Turkish Accelerator Center (TAC). Construction of the facility premises was completed in 2009, with a continued progress of hardware and infrastructure installation until today. In this respect, a button type beam position monitor (BPM) is designed, produced and tested for use of TARLA facility. Antenna simulations and mechanical design studies based on TARLA electron beam parameters are carried out by the software computer simulation technology. In this paper, its design and production highlights are discussed in detail, and the original results are summarized.

Indoor radon measurements were performed using LR-115 type-II solid state nuclear track detectors in Sakarya University in classrooms, laboratories and offices during the period from July 2013 to June 2014. The results show that the radon concentration in studied buildings ranges from 0.20±0.04 to 94.1±10 Bq/m³ with an average value of 40±5 Bq/m³. The annual effective doses from radon were estimated to range from 0.18 to 2.00 mSv/y with a mean value of 1.00 mSv/y. These results indicate no radiological health hazard, as the measured activities are well below International Commission on Radiological Protection recommended level of 200 Bq/m³ for indoor radon.
