The article presents the results of the evaluation of the Polish journals from the history of science, history, philosophy of science, and science of science, based on the “List of journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Poland 2017 & 2019” and “ICI Journal Master List 2014–2017”. A comment has also been added to these results. The following facts were noted:a) the fact that there is a negative correlation between the journal’s rating in the “List of journals MNiSW 2019” and the journal’s ratings in the “ICI Journal Master List 2014–2017” for journals from the history and history of science;b) the fact that the presence of the journal in the DOAJ does not raise the ministerial rating of the journal;c) the fact that the evaluation of the journal in the Scopus database has not significantly affected the increase in the ministerial rating: the rating depends on the discipline and sub-discipline;d) the fact that journals from the ministerial program “Support for scientific journals 2019–2020” (WCN 2019–2020) and ERIH+ received 20 to 70 points; their ministerial ratings depend on discipline and sub-discipline.In addition, it was hoped that for the good of Polish science, some errors of the “List of journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Polish Republic 2019” would be removed in a short time, as some magazines received too low marks (this statement results from a comparison of journals’ achievements, including bibliometric indicators).
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki ewaluacji czasopism z historii nauki, historii, filozofii nauki oraz naukoznawstwa na podstawie „Wykazu czasopism MNiSW 2017”, „Wykazu czasopism MNiSW  2019” oraz „ICI Journal Master List 2014–2017”. Dodano także komentarz do tych wyników. Zwrócono uwagę na następujące fakty:a) fakt istnienia ujemnej korelacji między oceną czasopisma w „Wykazie czasopism MNiSW 2019” a oceną czasopisma na „ICI Journal Master List 2014–2017” dla czasopism z historii i historii nauki;b) fakt, że obecność czasopisma w DOAJ nie podniosła oceny ministerialnej czasopisma;c) fakt, że ocena czasopisma w bazie danych Scopus nie wpłynęła w znaczący sposób na wzrost oceny ministerialnej: ocena ta zależy od dyscypliny i subdyscypliny;d) fakt, że czasopisma z listy programu ministerialnego „Wsparcie dla czasopism naukowych 2019–2020” (WCN 2019–2020) oraz ERIH+ otrzymały od 20 do 70 punktów; ich ministerialna ocena zależy od dyscypliny i subdyscypliny.Ponadto wyrażono nadzieję, że dla dobra polskiej nauki w krótkim czasie usunięte zostaną pewne błędy „Wykazu czasopism MNiSW 2019”, gdyż niektóre czasopisma otrzymały nieadekwatne oceny (stwierdzenie to wynika z porównania dokonań czasopism, w tym wskaźników bibliometrycznych).

W artykule przedstawiono sylwetkę mjr. Lucjana Deniziaka ps. „Orzeł”, żołnierza oddziału Pogotowia Akcji Specjalnej Komendy Okręgu NZW Białystok. Podczas II wojny światowej działał w konspiracji na terenie Białostocczyzny. Aresztowany po wkroczeniu Armii Czerwonej w 1944 roku został zesłany do obozu pracy w Kotłasie. Po zwolnieniu z łagru wznowił działalność niepodległościową. Aresztowany przez komunistów w 1947 roku, brutalnie przesłuchany, otrzymał wyrok 8 lat więzienia. Zmarł 22 listopada 2020 roku.

Opis:
In the tribute the personality of Andrzej Wawrzyniak (1931–2020), the founder and long-standing Director of the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw (bearing his name since 2017), is presented. Working as a diplomat in Indonesia in the 1960s, he amassed a sizeable collection of artefacts from the Malay Archipelago, large even if compared to similar ones worldwide, which allowed to set up a new museum in Warsaw in 1973. The Museum soon extended the sphere of its interests, today boasting collections from almost the whole of continental Asia and a substantial part of Oceania. For 40 years the collection was shaped mainly by the collecting choices of its founder and surprisingly numerous donations. As a result, a unique collection was formed, documenting a wide range of cultures, at the same time bearing testimony to its author’s personality. Furthermore, the issues of the perception of the Asia and Pacific Museum as well as of Asia’s cultures are discussed in the paper, and so are later alterations of this perception. Additionally, the questions of selection criteria and evaluation of museum objects are tackled.
Wspomnienie przybliża sylwetkę Andrzeja Wawrzyniaka (1931–2020), założyciela i długoletniego dyrektora Muzeum Azji i Pacyfiku w Warszawie, które od 2017 r. nosi jego imię. Jako dyplomata pracujący w Indonezji w latach 60. XX w. zgromadził znaczącą w skali międzynarodowej kolekcję artefaktów z Archipelagu Malajskiego, na bazie której w 1973 r. powstało w Warszawie nowe muzeum. Wkrótce zaczęło rozszerzać obszar zainteresowań i dziś posiada zbiory z niemal całego kontynentu azjatyckiego i znacznej części Oceanii. Przez 40 lat zbiory te kształtowane były przede wszystkim poprzez kolekcjonerskie wybory założyciela oraz niezwykle liczne darowizny. W rezultacie powstała kolekcja jedyna w swoim rodzaju, dokumentująca szeroki zakres kultur, a jednocześnie nosząca wyraźny ślad osobowości twórcy. Artykuł porusza również kwestie percepcji Muzeum Azji i Pacyfiku, a zarazem kultur Azji, we wczesnym okresie działalności placówki oraz późniejsze jej przemiany. Zwraca także uwagę na kryteria doboru i wartościowania muzealiów.

The article addresses the issues related to the implementation of the European Union’s actions for sustainable development policy and the implementation of the 17 UN Development Goals through Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) being key tools for moving the world towards a sustainable development. In September 2015 the UN accepted a new global Agenda 2030 on the Sustainable Development with its tools – Sustainable Development Goals. Putting them into life should contribute to shifting the economic and political relations between developing, emerging and developed countries. According to the Agenda motto “ no one will be left behind”. To achieve this aim by EU not only a significant rethinking of its external policy must take place but also its domestic actions must be changed. A fundamental tool to achieve this goal and implement the Agenda should be STI which allows the transition of EU and its underdeveloped partners to new sustainable ways of their economies and societies development.

Subject and purpose of work: A quantitative measurement of the implementation of the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy, an assessment of the degree of implementation of the strategy objectives for the individual EU-27 countries, and a ranking of countries in terms of the implementation of the strategy objectives were carried out. Materials and methods: The empirical analysis used EUROSTAT statistics covering the values of the basic indicators of the Europe 2020 strategy in the five main areas of development. The TOPSIS linear ordering method was used. For each country, a synthetic measure was established to express the level of achievement of the objectives of the strategy. On the basis of the value of the synthetic measure, a ranking of the countries was created in terms of the degree of the implementation of the Europe 2020 strategy objectives. A cluster analysis was applied in order to classify the countries into groups with a similar level of the implementation of the strategy assumptions. Results: Based on the collected empirical material, a diagnosis of the level of strategy implementation was carried out for all EU-27 member states. A quantitative approach was adopted in order to compare the effects of implementing the strategy assumptions. Groups of countries with a similar level of strategy implementation were identified. Conclusions: The research confirmed the existence of a significant diversification of the results of implementing the strategy objectives in the EU-27 countries. The differences were particularly visible between the highly developed Western European countries and the South European countries, severely weakened by the economic crisis of 2008–2009 and the recession of 2012–2013. The values of the synthetic measure allowed to determine the degree of the implementation of the objectives of the strategy and to create a ranking of the EU-27 countries. The adopted approach made it possible to compare the obtained classification of the Member States into groups with a similar level of achievement of the objectives of the strategy and to define measurable effects of the implementation of the "Europe 2020" strategic plan.

An overview of the Italian scenario has been developed considering the driving role SMEs play in the economic structure of the country and the pioneering function they have played in R&D and Innovation of Italy and of the whole Union in general. Through secondary data provided by various sources, such as the Cordis1 database, Istat and CIS 20182 we have done the analysis of regional disparities, which is also evident in the access to the European funds for research and innovation of SMEs. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the position held by Italy in relation to the opportunities offered by the European Union in the field of R&D and innovation, reflecting the changes that can be undertaken by the Italian national policy to serve as a bridge between the European institutions that offer these types of funds and SMEs and to better guide the latter towards the appropriate resources based on their distinctive characteristics which constitute a great development potential.

The aim of the article is to present the results of STEEPVL analysis applied in the foresight project entitled Technology foresight. "NT FOR Podlaskie 2020". Regional strategy of nanotechnology development. The first part of the article is devoted to the succinct description of STEEPVL analysis and the way it has been organised in the project. As a result of the analysis, there have been identified 65 factors influencing nanotechnology development in the region grouped in seven dimensions of the analysis, i.e. social, technological, economical, ecological, political, values and legal. The identified factors are characterised - according to experts - by the different level of importance and uncertainty which influences their selection for the driving forces in scenario construction for nanotechnology development in the region. The final part of the paper presents the results of the factors' ranking by their importance and uncertainty as well as the possible directions of the next stages of the research carried out.
