The article is devoted to the presentation of Abraham in the Greek textof the Praise of the Fathers (Sir 44:19-21). Only 13 verses are devoted tothe patriarch, but his description carries a wealth of theological meaning.Sirach presents Moses as an ideal and a model to follow for himself, hiscontemporaries and all believers (cf. Sir 44:19b). First of all, he emphasizesAbraham’s moral and religious perfection (cf. Sir 44:20), which manifesteditself in his abiding by the Law (cf. Sir 44:20a) and respecting the covenantwith God, reflected primarily through the sign of circumcision (cf. Sir44:20bc). Abraham was completely loyal to God and proved his loyaltyduring a trial (cf. Sir 44:20d). Sirach stresses especially one’s attitude tothe covenant with God as the most important aspect of a believer’s life; inthis respect Abraham should be a model to emulate. In the final part of the fragment the sage focuses on the result of Abraham’s faithfulness to God.The Lord promised him numerous offspring (cf. Sir 44:21cd) and an inheritance encompassing the whole Earth (cf. Sir 44:21e-g). Sirach emphasizes the special position of Abraham’s offspring among the nations (the latter will receive blessings through the former; cf. Sir 44:21b). What is more, Abraham’s offspring will be elevated over other nations (cf. Sir 44:21d). What is particularly noteworthy in Sirach’s reinterpretation of Abraham is that the patriarch respected the Law and that the sage attributed Messianic features to him.

Opis:
The text presents selected images of Italian cities present in the novels of Hans Christian Andersen and Giacomo Carofiglio. Rome, Naples, Amalfi, Pompeii, and Bari were read here from two perspectives: bucolic and pessimistic, which allowed to recreate the authors' attitude towards the cultural phenomenon of the city. It was emphasized that the authors writing in the two early centuries: the nineteenth (Andersen) and the twenty-first (Carofiglio) – read the cities of Italy in parallel through experiences of individual sensuality, sensitivity, contemplation and perception. Literature material was also interpreted in the context of the philosophies of Pascal, Bergson, Nietzsche and Deleuze.
W tekście pokazano wybrane wizerunki miast włoskich obecnych w powieściach: Hansa Christiana Andersena i Giacomo Carofiglio. Rzym, Neapol, Amalfi, Pompeje, Bari zostały tu odczytane w dwóch perspektywach: bukolicznej i pesymistycznej, co pozwoliło odtworzyć nastawienie autorów do fenomenu kulturowego miasta. Uwyraźniono, iż autorzy piszący w dwóch początkach wieków: XIX (Andersen) i XXI (Carofiglio) – paralelnie czytali miasta Italii poprzez doświadczenia indywidualnej sensualności, wrażliwości, kontemplacji i percepcji. Materiał literaturowy zinterpretowano również w kontekstach filozofii Pascala, Bergsona, Nietzschego oraz Deleuze’a.

Background. The negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health are still present today and are the subject of international research. The present cross-sectional quantitative study aimed to assess depression, anxiety and stress as well as mental health and well-being among Hungarian adults. Material and methods. The online survey study consisted of two data collections: the first survey was conducted in the spring of 2022 with the participation of 482 adults, while the second survey was performed in the spring of 2023 with 1157 adults. The questionnaire contained questions on sociodemographic data, about subjective mental status and characteristics of mental health. Results. During the one year passed since the last pandemic wave, mitigation of the symptoms of depression and stress and the worsening of anxiety symptoms was observed among the Hungarian adult population. A slight improvement of emotional and psychological well-being but a mild deterioration of social well-being was experienced in the same timeframe in the year following the pandemic. Conclusions. Long-term monitoring of the population’s mental status is justified, and the attention of professionals working in the field of mental health improvement is again directed to the necessity of prevention and intervention programs targeting vulnerable groups.
Wprowadzenie. Negatywne z punktu widzenia zdrowia psychicznego skutki pandemii COVID-19 nadal są obecne i pozostają przedmiotem międzynarodowych badań. Niniejsze ilościowe badanie przekrojowe miało na celu ocenę depresji, lęku i stresu, a także zdrowia psychicznego i dobrostanu u dorosłych Węgrów. Materiał i metody. Przeprowadzone przez Internet badanie ankietowe składało się z dwóch zbiorów danych: pierwsze badanie przeprowadzono wiosną 2022 r. z udziałem 482 osób dorosłych, a drugie badanie przeprowadzono wiosną 2023 r. z udziałem 1157 osób dorosłych. Kwestionariusz zawierał pytania dotyczące danych społeczno-demograficznych, subiektywnego stanu psychicznego i charakterystyki zdrowia psychicznego. Wyniki. W ciągu roku od ostatniej fali pandemii zaobserwowano złagodzenie objawów depresji i stresu oraz pogorszenie objawów lękowych wśród dorosłej populacji Węgier. W tym samym okresie w roku następującym po pandemii odnotowano niewielką poprawę w zakresie dobrostanu emocjonalnego i psychicznego, ale również łagodne pogorszenie dobrostanu społecznego. Wnioski. Długoterminowe monitorowanie stanu psychicznego populacji jest uzasadnione, a uwaga specjalistów zajmujących się dziedziną poprawy zdrowia psychicznego jest ponownie skierowana na konieczność wdrożenia programów profilaktycznych i interwencyjnych ukierunkowanych na szczególnie wrażliwe grupy.
