Linear and cyclic hymenistatin I (HS I) analogues with dipeptide segments Ile2-Pro3, Pro3-Pro4 and Val6-Pro7 replaced by their tetrazole analogues Ile-Ψ[CN4]-Ala3, Pro3-Ψ[CN4]-Ala4 and Val6-Ψ[CN4]-Alawere synthesized by the solid phase peptide synthesis method and cyclized with the TBTU and/or HATU reagent. The guinea pigs were administrated vit. A (400 i.u.), vit. B₂ (1 mg) or vit. B₁₅ (5 mg). On the 9-th day of the experiment part of them was infectpd with 5000 invasive eggs of Ascaris suum. The invasion lasted 6 days and was controlled by lungs and kidney weight, and number of larvae in the lungs. The activity of amylase was determined by saccharogenic method in both organs. In the lungs of infected animals the activity of alpha-amylase was abouth 3 times lower than in the control. The infection of guinea pigs which were given vitamins did not cause change of enzyme's activity. In the kidney directive tendency was the same, but the differences were smaller. The infection resulted in an increase of relative mass of lungs. This index and number of larvae was considerable smaller in guinea pigs with vitamins A and B₁₅ administration. Any testing agent did not cause change of relative weight of kidney.

Opis:
In this work, p-type Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 alloys were fabricated by high-energy ball milling (MA) and spark plasma sintering. Different revolutions per minute (RPM)s were used in the MA process, and their effect on microstructure, and thermoelectric properties of p-type Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 were systematically investigated. The crystal structure of milled powders and sintered samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction. All the powders exhibited the same morphology albeit with slight differences find at 1100 RPM conditions. A slight grain size refinement was observed on the fracture surfaces from 500 to 1100 RPM specimens. The temperature dependence of Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity, and power factors were measured as a function of temperature with different RPM conditions. The power factor shows almost same (~3.5 W/mK2 at RT) for all samples due to unchanged Seebeck and electrical conductivity values. The peak ZT of 1.07 at 375K is obtained for 1100 RPM specimen due to low thermal conductivity.

Opis:
This work presents the studies on the epoxidation of limonene to 1,2-epoxylimonene with hydrogen peroxide and over the titanium-silicate Ti-SBA-15 catalyst. The main object of the research was a solvent effect on the epoxidation process. The influence of solvents, such as: methanol, toluene, propan-2-ol (isopropyl alcohol), acetonitrile and ethanol has been studied. Furthermore, the influence of temperature in the range of 0-120°C and the reaction time in the range of 0.25-48 h have been investigated. Gas chromatography and iodometric titration methods were used to establish the products of this process and amount of the unreacted hydrogen peroxide. 1,2-Epoxylimonene, 1,2-epoxylimonene diol, perillyl alcohol, carvone and carveol have been determined as the main products of this process. All these compounds are very valuable raw materials for organic syntheses, medicine or cosmetic and food industry.

Introduction. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) coils technology is a powerful improvement for clinical diagnostics. This includes opportunities for mathematical and physical research into coil design. Aim. Here we present the method applied to MRI coil array designs. Material and methods. Analysis of literature and self-research. Results. The coils that emit the radiofrequency pulses are designed similarly. As much as possible, they deliver the same strength of radiofrequency to all voxels within their imaging volume. Surface coils on the other hand are usually not embedded in cylindrical surfaces relatively close to the surface of the body. Conclusion. The presented here results relates to the art of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and RF coils design. It finds particular application of RF coils in conjunction with bore type MRI scanners.

Opis:
The paper contributes to the discussion regarding the Corinthian opponents of the resurrection of the dead (1 Cor 15:12). In particular, it attempts to re-examine the thesis of the Epicurean framework of this controversy. The first part focuses on the main lines of interpretation of 1 Cor 15:12 and the presentation of the Epicurean thesis. It is followed by an analysis of Paul’s polemical statements against the thesis of his Corinthian opponents, “there is no resurrection of the dead” (1 Cor 15:12; cf. vv. 19, 29-34, 35). It is assumed that Paul clearly says that his opponents deny a bodily resurrection and future life – there is nothing after death. The third part of the paper reconsiders some hermeneutic factors concerning the identity of the Corinthian opponents of the resurrection. 1 Cor 15 contains terminological and ideological parallels to Epicureanism, especially, by way of opposition. Yet, the valuation of these data remains an open question.
