Opis:
Relaxation RC type voltage controlled oscillator is more desirable for many applications because of wide frequency generation range, small size on chip and linear voltage to frequency transfer characteristic. The limiting factor of such voltage controlled oscillator type is that it has higher phase noise in comparison with liquid crystal oscillators. We discuss how different device components, parameters and configuration influence phase noise, including transistor noise sources dependence on its geometrical parameters. The simulation results of the relaxation voltage controlled oscillator which was implemented in different 180 nm and 90 nm CMOS technologies are reported.

Electromagnetic pollution generated by the electrical devices has been regarded as a new form of pollution, harmful to the society as air and water pollution. The operation of electronic devices in a polluted electromagnetic environment has caused electromagnetic interference to become important concerns. Devices that are vulnerable to interference must often be shielded to protect them from the effects of electromagnetic interference. In this work we describe an interaction of a magnetic fluid based on transformer oil with alternating magnetic field. The magnetic fluid was composed of a transformer oil and dispersed magnetite nanoparticles coated with oleic acid. Among the wide range of topics covered, we pay attention to an important field related to the absorption of electromagnetic field by magnetic fluid as a suitable candidate for applications where it is necessary to electrically isolate, remove excess of heat, and to shield electromagnetic fields. We present a method for the determination of shielding effectiveness of the magnetic fluid under high-frequency excitation conditions from 750 MHz to 3 GHz by means of magnetic near field measurements and analysis. Herein, we report the effect of magnetic volume fraction in the magnetic fluid and the effect of the sample thickness on the shielding effectiveness. We have found that the magnetic fluid has a frequency dependent "windows", characterized that either absorb the magnetic field, or facilitate penetration of the magnetic field through the barrier.

This article builds on the previous work and describes the interaction of transformer oil-based magnetic fluid (MF) with the radio frequency (RF) magnetic near-field. Three prepared samples of the MF used as a barrier to magnetic near-field, consist of transformer oil and dispersed magnetite nanoparticles coated with oleic acid. We pay attention to the important area related to the electromagnetic field shielding by the MF. Such sample of the MF may be a good candidate for applications where it is necessary to simultaneously electrically isolate, remove the excess of heat and to shield electromagnetic interference (EMI). We present a method for the determination of shielding effectiveness (SE) of the MF under RF excitation conditions ranging from 500 MHz to 3 GHz. We report the effect of magnetic volume fraction in the MF and the effect of the sample thickness on the SE.

The article deals with the noise analysis of magnetic sensors using Allan variance. In comparison with the standard variance, based on the variations around the average value, Allan variance provides a measure of the behavior of the variability of a quantity as it is averaged over different measurement time periods, which results in a better convergence and the possibility to distinguish types of noise directly. A significant advantage of this method is that there is no need of any transformations and according to the IEEE recommendation the Allan variance approach is the preferred method for stochastic error identification and the noise type determination in inertial sensors (accelerometers and gyroscopes). Considering that magnetic sensors become even more often a part of inertial measurements units, the goal of this article is to prove that the method using the Allan variance analysis can be very successfully applied also for noise analysis in magnetic sensors.

The presented paper describes methodology for the non-stationary noise analysis of the magnetic sensors' data using the dynamic Allan variance. The methodology was developed for the characterization of clock behavior. In the article the theory is applied for the magnetic sensors noise analysis and verified by the simulations and experiments. Results of the data analysis are graphically presented and statistically evaluated and prove the correctness of the initial hypothesis and confirm suitability of the dynamic Allan variance approach for magnetic sensors with the non-stationary noise behavior.

The article contains information on research carried out in Electric Faculty of Silesian University of Technology, made at test stations and aimed at diagnosis how is actual technical state of high voltage power oil transformers. Opinion on a state of transformers is based on analysis results of partial discharge measurements. Authors use simultaneously: electric, acoustic and dissolved gas analysis method. Applied acoustic method is the original own one. Non-conventional application of electric method is proposed, too. In the frame of chosen methodology the partial discharges are measured and next calculations of quantities describing partial discharges within particular methods are carried out in order to describe phenomena commonly for electric and acoustic method. Information sources about level and kind of partial discharges are measurement results obtained from electric method whereas information on places where partial discharges appear is contained in measurement results coming from acoustic method. Authors present selected application results of such a combined measuring method.

In this study, electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of ceramic bodies produced with natural zeolite illuminated by an electromagnetic pulse is investigated. A matrix model is used to calculate the propagation of electromagnetic pulse through sample. Shielding effectiveness of sample is determined for both transmitted electric and magnetic fields. Mathematical theory of the interaction and the shielding effectiveness of the sample is determined as a function of frequency, thickness of the material and the incidence angle of electromagnetic pulse. Zeolites used in this study were supplied from ETI Holding Company located in Turkey. Water was added as a binder and disc samples were shaped by uniaxial dry pressing at pressing pressure of 1.5 tone. Samples were fired in an electric furnace with a heating rate of 10°C/min at 1150C with a period of 60 min. Electrical measurements are performed to determine the dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent at 25C constant temperature between frequency range from 1 kHz up to 2 MHz.

Opis:
The influence of Au nanoparticles dimension on the photocatalytic performances of the $TiO_2$ aerogels-Au composites was evaluated. Structural and morphological peculiarities of the $TiO_2$ aerogel, unloaded and loaded with 5 and 22 nm Au nanoparticles, were studied by transmission electron microscopy technique, X-ray diffraction and $N_2$-sorption measurements. UV-Vis diffuse reflectance measurements were performed to determine the band gap energies. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by monitoring the salicylic acid photodegradation. It was found that the Au nanoparticles promote the anatase phase crystallization and produce the decrease of the specific surface area and band gap energy values. The porous composite with the smallest Au nanoparticles dimension exhibits the best photocatalytic performances.
