Opis:
This paper investigates the theoretical aspects of two-dimensional linear cellular automata with image applications. We consider geometrical and visual aspects of patterns generated by cellular automata evolution. The present work focuses on the theory of two-dimensional linear cellular automata with respect to uniform periodic and adiabatic boundary cellular automata conditions. Multiple copies of any arbitrary image corresponding to cellular automata find so many applications in real life situation e.g. textile design, DNA genetics research, etc.

Opis:
A family of one-dimensional finite linear cellular automata with reflective boundary condition over the field $Z_p$ is defined. The generalizations are the radius and the field that states take values. Here, we establish a connection between reversibility of cellular automata and the rule matrix of the cellular automata with radius three. Also, we prove that the reverse CA of this family again falls into this family.

In this paper the notion of the Fibonacci and Lucas numbers is extended onto real indices. Next, these new numbers are used for calculating real powers of certain matrices. The presented method to the extension of elements of linear recurrence sequence to real indices ought to find practical application in wide understanding metrology and medical diagnostics.

Opis:
We investigate main theoretical aspects of two-dimensional linear-hybrid cellular automata with periodic boundary condition over the Galois field GF(2). We focus on the characterization of two-dimensional hybrid linear cellular automata by way of a special algorithm. Here we set up a relation between reversibility of cellular automata and characterization of two-dimensional hybrid linear cellular automata with a special boundary conditions, i.e. periodic case. The determination of the characterization problem of special type of cellular automaton is studied by means of the matrix algebra theory. It is believed that this type of cellular automata could find many different applications in special case situations, e.g. image processing area, textile design, video processing, DNA research, etc., in the near future.

In this paper, we study 2-dimensional finite cellular automata defined by hexagonal local rule with periodic boundary over the field $Z_3$. We construct the rule matrix corresponding to the hexagonal cellular automata. For some given coefficients and the number of columns of hexagonal information matrix, we prove that the hexagonal cellular automata are reversible.

Opis:
Credit risk models used in banks are based on probability models for occurrence of default. A vast class of the models used in practice (e.g., Credit Metrics) is based on the notion of intensity. In 1997 Jarrow applied Markov chain approach to analyze intensities. The key problem that arises is the selection of appropriate estimators. Within the Markov approach among the most frequently used estimators of a migration matrix are cohort and duration estimators. Migration matrices can also be obtained with help of statistical longitudinal models (GLMM) in which states (rating classes) in discrete time points are regarded as matched pairs. In this paper we compare Markov chain models and GLMM models and the influence of their application on bank portfolio evaluation.

Opis:
We analyze composed quantum systems consisting of k subsystems, each described by states in the n-}dimensional Hilbert space. Interaction between subsystems can be represented by a graph, with vertices corresponding to individual subsystems and edges denoting a generic interaction, modeled by random unitary matrices of order $n^2$. The global evolution operator is represented by a unitary matrix of size N = n^{k}. We investigate statistical properties of such matrices and show that they display spectral properties characteristic to the Haar random unitary matrices provided the corresponding graph is connected. Thus basing on random unitary matrices of a small size n^2 one can construct a fair approximation of large random unitary matrices of size $n^{k}$. Graph-structured random unitary matrices investigated here allow one to define the corresponding structured ensembles of random pure states.

Opis:
High order and non-linear effects in accelerator beamline play an important role in the transport of the beam. These effects cause variation of designed beam parameters such as emittance growth, bunch length variation, beam halo formation, etc. One of the known non-linear effects in bunch compressors is the coherent synchrotron radiation effect. In this study we focus on coherent synchrotron radiation effect in Turkish Accelerator and Radiation Laboratory in Ankara (TARLA) machine which is designed to drive Infrared Free Electron Laser, covering the range of 3-250 μm. We additionally discuss high order effects in bunch compressor of TARLA.
