    Opis:
    In the presentation of the subject – preceded by an Introduction, where is presented the Commentary Super Psalmos of the Aquinas – the author examines the saint Thomas’ interpretations of the Psalm 1 texts regarding the topic of this research and presents three points: 1 – The principal characteristic and the division of the Psalm 1; 2 – The processus ad beatitudinem; 3 – The felicitatis eventus. The presentation of subject – who in reality speaks about the two ways: of the just and of the impious, and has the culmination in the final judgment – is enriched whit the Aquinas’ commentaries of the cited texts of saint Paul and saint John, confronted with the contemporary exegesis. All this permits to the author to conclude that the interpretation of the Psalm 1 presented by Saint Thomas is very clear, rich and remains valid and topical and permits to remain in the faith and doctrine of the catholic Church.
    Dwie drogi Ps 1 w interpretacji św. Tomasza z  Akwinu We Wstępie - aby rozwiać błędne, ale rozpowszechnione mniemania o działalności uniwersy- teckiej św. Tomasza z Akwinu - Doktor Anielski, który swojej Summy teologii nigdy nie wykładał, jest przedstawiony jako egezegeta Pisma Świętego: tu jako komentator Psalmów, gdyż trzeba pa- miętać, że w Średniowieczu profesor teoglogii był magister in Sacra Pagina, czyli zajmował się właśnie egzegezą Pisma Świętego. W swoim kometarzu św.  Tomasz twierdzi - podobnie jak          i współcześni bibliści - że Ps 1 jest wstępem do całego Psałterza. Akwinata dzieli Ps 1 na dwie główne części: Processus ad beatitudinem, gdzie ukazuje dążenie wszystkich ludzi do szczęśliwo- ści i porównuje dwie drogi: drogę bezbożnych i drogę sprawiedliwych, chociaż używa innych wyrażeń; oraz Felicitatis eventus, gdzie porównuje wyniki tych dążeń i dróg: sprawiedliwi osiąga- ją wieczną szczęśliwość, którą jest sam Bóg; natomiast bezbożni - wieczne potępienie; stąd św. Tomasz wiele miejsca poświęca obrazowi drzewa i sądowi ostatecznemu. Teksty komentarza Akwi- naty do Ps 1, wsparte też jego komentarzami do Ewangelii św. Jana i do Corpus Paulinum, są kon- frontowane ze współczesnymi komentarzami biblijnymi, co pozwala na zauważenie różnic w po- dejściu do tekstów świętych, a także dostrzec bogactwo myśli teologiczno-biblijnej i duchowej Doktora Anielskiego. Ta myśl jest nadal bardzo aktualna i pozwala na ciągłe trwanie w nauce, moralności i duchowości Kościoła katolickiego.

    Opis:
    The abyss is most often discussed from the point of view of the Scripture or human existential experience. The purpose of this article is to show the abyss in the icon where these two aspects are present. Applying reference and comparison methods, one can see the victory of Jesus Christ, which takes place in sheol over Satan and his rebellious angels. The victory accomplished on the cross by the Savior has its continuation here because in the icon it becomes the gate to heaven for the righteous dating back to Adam and Eve, the first parents of humankind. Rich symbolism of the icon Descend into the Abyss from various icon schools allows us to make a broad theological interpretation which becomes an inspiration for further research and the discovery of its message and symbolism, in the dogmatic, spiritual, liturgical, homiletic, artistic and psychological dimensions.

    The article highlights a discussion on the celebration of the National Day of Remembrance of Poles who saved Jews Under the German Occupation. The Day, established in Poland in 2018, honors those who during World War II helped the persecuted Jews. This important subject is often used instrumentally in the public debate and political narration as a counterargument in discussions about the negative attitudes of Poles during World War II. Without a reliable debate including the voices of the Righteous, and without a historical research, it will not be possible to truly commemorate all those who despite danger, decided to save the Jews.

    Phantasm of the Righteous and Agnieszka Holland’s film "In Darkness"The text analyses Agnieszka Holland’s film In Darkness against the background of the Polish discourse on the Righteous. The devices of this discourse are reconstructed on the basis of two documentary films: The Righteous by Ryszard Gontarz and Janusz Kidawa (1968) and The Story of the Kowalski by Arkadiusz Gołębiowski and Maciej Pawlicki (2009). The basic devices distinguished in the narrative of the Righteous are the following: 1. a symmetry between the Jewish and Polish suffering 2. lack of Jews’ gratefulness and solidarity (“we demonstrated solidarity as far as the sacrifice of life but they…”); 3. treating the Righteous as pars pro toto of the community (they become the proof of the “national character” of Poles; the motif of “the Righteous-anti-Semite”); 4. a conviction about Polish helplessness; 5. marginalisation of the Polish aggression against Jews (a viewpoint that apparently “the scum is everywhere” and the simultaneously expressed accusations that the victims were involved in the Holocaust themselves).Holland is not aware of the discursive mechanisms accumulating around the undertaken subject or the correlated stakes of the common imagination. Therefore, many fragments of In Darkness easily succumb to being captured by the prevailing, and in fact anti-Semitic, clichés of understanding the history. In effect, the phenomenon of unwanted comeback of phantasms occurs in reference to a narrative developed as an antidote for such.

    Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie postaci Heleny Brodowskiej, działaczki ludowej, kapitana Batalionów Chłopskich, profesora historii na Uniwersytecie Łódzkim, a przede wszystkim osoby odważnej i wrażliwej na niedolę innych. W okresie II wojny światowej z dużym zaangażowaniem organizowała pomoc dla ludności żydowskiej, prześladowanej przez niemieckiego nazistowskiego okupanta. Swoją ofiarną postawą zasłużyła sobie na uhonorowanie jej w 1991 r. tytułem Sprawiedliwy wśród Narodów Świata. Zawarte w artykule zeznania Brodowskiej, a także świadectwa osób, do których uratowania się przyczyniła – Narcyza Łubnickiego i Mariana Małowista – pokazują, że skuteczne udzielanie pomocy ludności żydowskiej wymagało nie tylko odwagi pojedynczych osób, ale przede wszystkim sprawnego działania zespołowego. Ta część konspiracyjnego ruchu ludowego, z którym była związana Brodowska, tego rodzaju postawę wykazała. Stąd w tekście pojawiają się różne postaci, które współtworzyły siatkę organizacyjną, umożliwiającą ratowanie ludności żydowskiej przed Zagładą. Ich nazwiska także zasługują na przypomnienie i odnotowanie w pamięci zbiorowej.
