Opis:
As soon as the Middle Ages Poland established contacts with the Republic of Venice. The origin of the contacts should be looked for in the ecclesiastical-organizational as well as political-diplomatic relations. In the field of diplomacy both the republics were brought close by the issue of the Turkish threat and their joint work against the Habsburg monarchy. Constant contacts were also seen in the sphere of trade. From the Veneto region cloths, precious stones, glass and books were imported to the Jagiellonian state. Poland sold Polish cochineal, skins, fur coats, corn. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth attracted Venetians with various social statuses; and it was not infrequent that they settled here for good. There were merchants, artisans, musicians, medicine doctors, clergymen and people of other trades between them. They entered court, church and bourgeois structures. Migration of the people coming from Veneto gathered momentum at the beginning of the 16th century, along with the development of the Renaissance. Artists – goldsmiths, architects, sculptors – came, as they were employed at the royal court and in magnate estates. Various artistic items were imported from Venice to Poland. Poles willingly travelled to the town on the lagoons and they expressed their delight with it in poems, memoirs and letters. A lot of outstanding Poles studied in Padua – a superb center of European academic thought. The Commonwealth of Both Nations and the Most Serene Republic of Venice were joined by affinities in a variety of fields of broadly understood culture. There was a constant flow of people, ideas, goods and works of art between them.

The article identifies and discusses several examples of specific perceptions of archeology developing in the 19th century in constructing and sustaining national identity, especially in the face of the loss of the political subjectivity of the state, which sometimes even resulted in outlining an opposition of discovering, collecting and studying artifacts of native “antiquity” against the dynamically developing Mediterranean archeology (ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome) in Western Europe.
Artykuł wskazuje i omawia kilka przykładów specyficznego postrzegania roli rozwijającej się w XIX wieku archeologii w konstruowaniu oraz podtrzymywaniu narodowej tożsamości, zwłaszcza w obliczu utraty politycznej podmiotowości państwa, co skutkowało niekiedy nawet definiowaniem opozycji odkrywania, kolekcjonowania oraz badania artefaktów rodzimej „starożytności” wobec dynamicznie rozwijającej się w zachodniej Europie archeologii śródziemnomorskiej (starożytny Egipt, Grecja, Rzym).

W artykule przeanalizowano 2947 projektów z obszaru nauki i edukacji realizowanych przy udziale funduszy strukturalnych w Polsce, w latach 2004–2006. Podsumowano inwestycje współfinansowane z Europejskiego Funduszu Rozwoju Regionalnego, Europejskiego Funduszu Społecznego i Europejskiego Funduszu Orientacji i Gwarancji Rolnej. Zweryfikowano dane dotyczące 2947 projektów w podziale na poszczególne województwa. Dzięki temu wyodrębniono regionalnych liderów pod względem liczby złożonych projektów i pozyskanych środków finansowych w latach 2004–2006. Określono kwotę dotacji z UE do projektów z obszaru nauki i edukacji w Polsce per capita. Dane te skonfrontowano z wybranymi wskaźnikami rozwoju kapitału ludzkiego w latach 2003, 2006, 2009 i 2012 w celu oceny wpływu funduszy europejskich w obszarze nauki i edukacji na poziom kapitału ludzkiego w Polsce.
The article presents the analysis of 2,947 projects in the area of science and education co-financed by the Structural Funds in Poland in 2004–2006. It summarizes the investments co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund and the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund. Data on 2,947 projects, with their regional division, have been verified. Thanks to this regional leaders have been distinguished in terms of the number of projects and raised funds in 2004–2006. Most importantly, the amount of the subsidy from the EU to projects in the area of science and education in Poland in the years 2004–2006 has been estimated per capita of individual region. These data were compared with the selected human capital development indicators in 2003, 2006, 2009 and 2012 to assess the impact of European funding in the field of science and education on human capital in Poland.

August Heylman jest jednym z zapomnianych prawników Królestwa Polskiego w XIX w. Praktykiem zajmującym wysokie stanowiska w administracji i sądownictwie Królestwa Polskiego, zajmującym się przy tym działalnością naukową. Był jednym z głównych propagatorów szkoły historycznej prawa w polskiej nauce prawa w XIX w. oraz współtwórców jednego z najbardziej znanych polskich czasopism naukowych „Themis Polska”.
August Heylman is one of the forgotten lawyers of the Kingdom of Poland in the 19th century. He was a practician, holding high positions in the then administration and judiciary of the Kingdom. At the same time he occupied himself with scholarly activity. He was one of the main advocates of the historical school of law in the Polish legal science in the 19th century as well as a co-creator of one of the best-known Polish scientific journals edited under the title Themis Polska.

The subject of this article is the presentation of the scientific achievements of Bonifacy Miązek – an emigrant poet, critic and historian of literature. This article discusses the historical/literary dissertations of a Viennese scholar published in German (Die lyrische Beschreibung im Nachkriegsschaffen Kazimierz Wierzyńskis,  polnische Literatur 1863–1914. Darstellung und Analyse, Polnische Literatur des Mittelalters und der Renaissance, Studien zur polnischen Literatur). The academic books of the professor show an innovative structure  which broadens the reader's knowledge of interesting issues relating to reception aesthetics, and the reception models of Polish writers at home and abroad. Publications by Bonifacy Miązek enrich and systematize knowledge about Polish literature, expose a new look of the work of recognized authors, and introduce new names and titles.
Der vorliegende Artikel thematisiert die wissenschaftlichen Leistungen von Bonifacy Miązek – einem polnischen Exildichter, geschätzten Kritiker und Literaturhistoriker. Besprochen werden hier die historisch-literarischen Werke des bekannten Wiener Gelehrten in deutscher Sprache (Die lyrische Beschreibung im Nachkriegsschaffen Kazimierz Wierzyńskis, Polnische Literatur 1863–1914. Darstellung und Analyse, Polnische Literatur des Mittelalters und der Renaissance, Studien zur polnischen Literatur). Die akademischen Publikationen von Professor Miązek zeigen eine innovative Struktur – sie erweitern das Wissen der Leserschaft über die Problematik der Rezeptionsästhetik und analysieren die Rezeption der polnischen Schriftsteller im In- und Ausland. Die Werke von Bonifacy Miązek bereichern und systematisieren das Wissen über polnische Literatur, besprechen die Arbeit anerkannter Autoren neu und präsentieren neue Namen und Titel.
Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest prezentacja dorobku naukowego, w szczególności rozpraw historycznoliterackich opublikowanych w języku niemieckim (Die lyrische Beschreibung im Nachkriegsschaffen Kazimierz Wierzyńskis, Polnische Literatur 1863-1914. Darstellung und Analyse, Polnische Literatur des Mittelalters und der Renaissance, Studien zur polnischen Literatur), autorstwa Bonifacego Miązka – emigracyjnego poety, krytyka i historyka literatury. Książki naukowe księdza profesora wykazują nowatorską strukturę, poszerzając wiedzę czytelnika o zagadnienia będące przedmiotem zainteresowania estetyki recepcji, a przede wszystkim o modele odbioru utworów pisarzy polskich w kraju i za granicą. Publikacje wiedeńskiego uczonego wzbogacają i systematyzują wiedzę o literaturze polskiej, oferując nowe spojrzenie na twórczość uznanych i najnowszych autorów.

Współpraca nauki i biznesu jest obecnie uważana za jedno z kluczowych narzędzi służących podnoszeniu innowacyjności i konkurencyjności gospodarek narodowych. Rozwój współpracy sektora nauki i biznesu wydaje się szczególnie istotny dla Polski, która wskaźnikami w zakresie innowacyjności gospodarki znacząco odbiega od większości gospodarek UE. Celem artykułu jest przegląd dokumentów strategicznych na poziomie UE, a także na poziomie krajowym w Polsce z lat 2010-2015 pod kątem celów i narzędzi współpracy biznesu z sektorem naukowym.
Industry-science cooperation is considered to be one of the key measures to strengthen innovativeness and competitiveness of national economies. Fostering industry- science linkages seems particularly important for Poland that is lagging behind most EU member states in terms of innovation indicators. The aim of the paper is to review the strategic documents at the EU and at the national level in Poland (from the period 2010-2015) in terms of objectives and tools of industry-science cooperation. The conclusions from this review refer to their implementation in business practice.

Wiadomości zamieszczane na stronie internetowej Deutsche Welle są dobrym materiałem uzupełniającym na zajęciach z praktycznej nauki języka niemieckiego na studiach germanistycznych. Pozwalają na rozwijanie umiejętności językowych i komunikacyjnych (znajomość leksyki, rozumienie tekstów, wypowiadanie się w języku niemieckim) oraz umiejętności uniwersalnych – kultury czytelniczej, dociekliwości, niezależności myślenia. To ważne, by studenci ćwiczyli się w roli świadomego i krytycznego czytelnika także wtedy, gdy mają do czynienia z tekstami obcojęzycznymi.
The news placed on the website of Deutsche Welle are good additional material for Practical German Classes in German Philology Department. They allow the development of language and communicative skills (the knowledge of lexis, understanding of texts, speaking skills) and universal skills like reading culture, inquisitiveness, independence of thinking. It is important that the students practise the role of conscious and critical thinking, also in the situation when they approach foreign texts.

At the beginning of 2020, educational systems around the world faced one of the greatest and most important challenges of the 21st century. Due to the global pandemic and the need to introduce social distancing rules, it was decided to close schools and switch to modes of learning that do not require physical contact between learners and teachers. This decision was associated with numerous problems and difficulties in various areas of school life and the necessity to introduce new rules. More than a year after the introduction of the new learning reality, teachers and students around the world have managed to adapt. International researchers are trying to describe this new order by asking questions about what the school looks like in the time of the pandemic, how students are doing, and what strategies teachers have adopted. The article focuses on research on education and foreign language teaching conducted in 2020 in China, South Korea, Germany, and Poland. The findings to date are combined with a brief description of the educational situation in these countries. Finally, the first conclusions and recommendations are formulated that can be drawn on the basis of data collected by international researchers.
