Opis:
The article presents the issue of state participation in the financing of couples’ infertility treatment with in vitro fertilization. The author emphasizes that highly interesting topic of clinics recommended for infertility treatment has not been sufficiently developed. This subject is systematically developed in the public discourse, but the society, which still remains divided in the matter of state and municipal government participation in the funding of couples' infertility treatment with in vitro. The author presents the evolution of Ministry’s of Health In Vitro Fertilisation Programmes which came under the governance of the Law and Justice party (PiS) in 2016.

Opis:
In vitro fertilization involves many issues that need to be regulated by law. The main one is the status of the embryo and arising from it other concerns such as cryoconservation of embryos, assisted reproductive techniques, gamete donation, surrogacy, or preimplantation diagnosis. This paper surveys the legal regulation of in vitro fertilization at different levels of the law systems, from international standards, through regional regulations, to the national law.

In - vitro methods of determination of the antioxidant activity of complex compounds are very interesting and not fully investigated areas of knowledge from the borderline of chemistry and biology. Methods used for determination of the activity of antioxidant complex compounds are modified due to the conditions of the experiments in which they should be carried out, e.g. reactions at physiological pH. Civilization diseases, stress related to the fast pace of life and increasing requirements of our lives cause the formation of free radicals in our body, i.e. particles characterized by a high reactivity. The methods of determination of the antioxidant activity of complexes discussed in this work apply tests carried out in laboratory conditions - in - vitro.

Opis:
Introduction and objective. Due to the reported efficacy of in vitro fertilization (IVF) this method of dealing with infertility is increasing being used. Experiencing IVF can be a source of psychological and emotional difficulties for couples trying to have a child. A systematic review was performed to discuss IVF as a psychological issue that impacts on the functioning of individuals, couples and families. Ebsco, Science Direct and PsycARTICLES databases were searched using the keywords: IVF fertilization, IVF psychology, infertility, and IVF consequences, using published peer reviewed articles from 2006 onwards. Studies in the English and Polish languages, peer reviewed and investigating general IVF and infertility psychological issues were included. Data was collected by the authors between June 2015-January 2016. Brief description of the state of knowledge. Studies indicate that partners going through IVF may not have enough support from their closest social environments. It is argued that these unsupportive social interactions affect the well-being of couples, can hinder conception, and therefore are one of the reasons for attrition from IVF, the most effective assisted reproduction method. Conclusions. There is a need to conduct studies on the effect of supportive social interactions for the functioning of couples undergoing IVF.

Opis:
Unplanned childlessness or inability to give birth again are nowadays a serious social problem – different statistics say there are from 1 to 3 million pairs impacted. Childlessness is not only an inability to have children but the entire scope of factors affecting social everyday life. It influences financial, professional and interpersonal relations situation but, above all, it changes intrafamilial relations. Harsh and long-lasting therapies require redefining relations between partners and crossing many barriers – intimacy (in both purely physical and illness related sense), strength (physical and emotional) or trust. It forces couples/ marriages to redefine their relations – build new rules of family (and social) life devoted (or not) to a common (or not) goal. Partners’ bodies no longer belong to them and start being treated as a tool necessary for reproduction. They way of “using” the body changes, the way one sees one’s changes – there is a separation between the mind and the body which is subject of therapies, the new language allowing partners to talk about the body and its parts is created (the language that eases familiarizing with the problem) – often childish, e.g. snowflake = frozen embryo, soldiers = sperm). The goal of the article is to outline everyday life problems that couples/marriages face when trying to have children for a very long time. Previous, media driven approach to the topic reduces it to political discussions about in vitro without mentioning mental, social and existential fear that accompanies infertile couples and changes their relationships. The topic is illustrated by the preliminary results of quality research carried out in 2010 on couples struggling with infertility.

Opis:
This paper is a short review of historical development of the tissue culture method in Poland. Similarly to the rest of the world, in vitro technology in Poland has progressed in many directions simultaneously. Its main fields are closely interconnected by natural sequences of biological processes and integrade one into another. The best results, driven by the prospects of practical applications, have been achieved within the areas of meristem culture and micropropagation of valuable genotypes, somaclonal variation, production of haploids and DH plants, somatic embryogenesis, in vitro culture of embryos and ovules, improvement of plant disease resistance, somatic hybridization and transformation of plants. Due to the fact that in vitro domain is a very broad science the authors are aware that this review might not fully cover all the scientists working with tissue culture and their achievements.

Opis:
Scharakteryzowano kalendarium wieloletnich prób i badań Roberta edwardsa i Patricka Steptoe’a nad zapłodnieniem „in vitro”, zakończone urodzeniem pierwszego dziecka „z probówki” louise Brown w roku 1978.
The article aims to introduce the history of performing in-vitro procedure as the method of infertility treatment for couples. it also discusses the controversies around the subject of artificial fertilization, particularly presenting the opinion of The catholic church. Some numerous attempts to fight infertility throughout the history have been described along with the causes of male as well as female infertility. The calendar of many years of attempts on the in-vitro method performed by Robert edwards and Patrick Steptoe has been characterized, what ended successfully with the first born ‘test-tube baby’ – louise Brown in 1978. The technique and the stages of in-vitro fertilization procedure have been presented as well as its effectiveness and possible complications. The statistics of the fertilizations in specific countries have been included along with the numbers concerning Poland. The greatest ethical and moral problems of the procedure have also been pointed out.
