    Foundation of the Humanitarian Aid „Redemptoris Missio” was established in 1992 r. in Poznañ. It is a fruit of the encyclical of John Paul II on the permanent validity of the Church’s missionary mandate. The foundation forms the specialist medical backup for missionary centers. It organizes the medical and financial help as well as propagates the knowledge about missions and missionaries. It also carries a publishing activity. It gives a witness on the service of lay Christians in the missionary activities.

    Opis:
    The Poznań Foundation of Humanitarian Relief “Redemptoris Missio” originated twenty-five years ago. Its mission is to provide professional medical assistance to missionaries and mission centers. It is the first foundation which involved lay people in the missionary activity of the Catholic Church. It was also founded mostly by lay people and is still managed by them. Many lay volunteers are also engaged in its work. In this study the author describes the  genesis of the Foundation and its goals in the context of the pastoral paradigm. The analytical-critical method of its functioning was analyzed, as well as analysis of the source documents of the foundation. On the basis of the foundation's activities an institutional model of secular involvement in the Church’s missionary activity is presented, which can be replicated in other pastoral centers.

    50-lecie soborowego dekretu Ad gentes (1965-2015) przywołuje czas dynamicznych zmian w kontekście misji chrześcijańskich. Autor wykazuje, że na każdym etapie ewolucji paradygmatu misji pojawia się pytanie o celowość misyjnej działalności Kościoła. Posoborowe dokumenty: Redemptoris missio (1990), Teologia dzisiaj (2011), Evangelii gaudium (2013), Laudato si' (2015) - potwierdzają tezę autora. W wyniku „wielkiej dyskusji" szkół misjologicznych celowość misji zasadniczo realizuje się poprzez przepowiadanie i zakładanie Kościoła, ale również poprzez inkulturację, dialog z religiami, a także każdą działalność na rzecz integralnego rozwoju człowieka. Encyklika Redemptoris missio otwiera Kościół na „niezmierzone horyzonty misji": migracje, sekularyzację społeczeństw, obojętność religijną, spadek gorliwości i nadziei u wierzących chrześcijan. Począwszy od Soboru Watykańskiego II teologia misji osadzona jest w teologii trynitarnej. Sam nakaz misyjny (por. Mt 28,19) stanowi zaproszenie do uczestnictwa w komunii, jaka istnieje pomiędzy Osobami Trójcy Świętej (zob. AG 2; RM 23). Autor wykazuje, że soborowy proces misyjnej odnowy Kościoła trwa. Synteza dorobku i doświadczeń interpretowana w dynamice aktualizacji kreuje szansę odkrycia na nowo soborowego optymizmu.
    The 50th anniversary of the publication of the decree Ad gentes (1965-2015) reminds us of the dynamic changes that have taken place during all those years in the understanding of the Christian missionary work. The author of this essay demonstrates how the paradigm shifts in the theology of mission were accompanied by the recurring question about the purposefulness of the missionary work of the Church. The post-conciliar documents - Redemptoris missio (1990), Theology today (2011), Evangelii gaudium (2013), Laudato si' (2015) - corroborate his thesis. According to the "great debate" between the missiological schools the central purposes of mission is proclamation and formation of the churches. Other purposes include inculturation, interreligious dialogue and those activities that foster the holistic development of man. The encyclical Redemptoris missio opens the Church to the "vast horizons of the mission": migrations, secularisation of societies, religious indifference, and fading away of piety and hope among believing Christians. Since Vatican II the theology of mission has been firmly set in the trinitarian theology. The missionary mandate (cf. Mt 28:19) is an invitation to participate in the communion between the Persons of the Holy Trinity (see AG 2; RM 23). The author of the essay proves that the post-conciliar renewal of the Church's mission continues. A synthesis of its outcomes and their active implementation may help us to rekindle the optimism of the council.
