    The paper provides information on the history of the creation and activities of the Geodynamic Laboratory in Książ (Central Sudetes, SW Poland). A unique laboratory environment, instrumental facilities and research program were presented. Particular attention was paid to the study of geodynamic signals of non-tidal nature, relating to the local geological and tectonic situation. Tectonic research is examined in terms of both cognitive (identification of causes of the occurrence and scale of the problem), as well as utilitarian aspect designed to assess the impact of recorded effects on the earth's surface and architectural objects

    The paper provides new results of palynological studies of rocks from the Świebodzice Unit. An abundant Carboniferous miospores were found in rocks of the Pogorzała Formation from the southern part of this unit. These miospores occur in rocks containing also macrofloral and marine macrofaunal fossils, partly reworked, which were usually considered Upper Devonian. Two miospore sub-assemblages of different ages and colours have been distinguished. One of them consists of poorly preserved miospores, dark in colour, which indicate the Late Visean–Serpukhovian age of the rocks. The other sub-assemblage, found only in a few samples, consists of much lighter and well-preserved miospores of the Asturian age. Their presence is considered as a result of stratigraphical leakage. Observation of the miospore colour indicates that the thermal event occurred after the Late Devonian and before the Asturian and the palaeotemperature exceeded ~180°C. These new data indicate that the geological history of the Świebodzice Unit lasted longer and was much complex than it was previously considered.

    Abundant and moderately diverse trace fossil assemblage have been discovered for the first time in mudstones of the Pogorzała Formation from the Witoszów region, SW Poland. Fifteen ichnospecies including fourteen ichnogenera are described. The ichnofauna is dominated by Dictyodora liebeana and contains numerous Palaeophycus tubularis, rarer Archaeonassa fossulata, Archaeonassa isp., Chondrites cf. intricatus, Curvolithus simplex, Diplopodichnus biformis, Lockeia isp., ?Lophoctenium isp., Nereites isp., Phycosiphon isp., Protovirgularia isp., ?Psammichnites isp., Taenidium isp. and one ichnospecies of fish swimming trails, Undichna cf. britannica. Some other structures (wave ripples influenced by microbial mats and zigzag structures) also occur. The trace fossil assemblages differ in various exposures, but three of them are similar and display the Dictyodora liebeana ichnoassemblage. It is represented mostly by the ethological categories fodinichnia and repichnia, with fewer pascichnia, domichnia and cubichnia. This new data from the Świebodzice Unit sheds light on the palaeontology, age and palaeoenvironment of the Pogorzała Formation. The occurrence of D. liebeana and U. cf. britannica indicates the Mississippian age of most mudstones studied, formerly considered Upper Devonian. The trace fossil assemblage belongs to the non-standard Nereites ichnofacies, without graphoglyptids. The lithological features of mudstones, trace fossil assemblage and poverty of macrofauna, testify to their deposition in a deeper sedimentation zone below storm wave base, most likely in dysaerobic, pro-delta conditions. This study suggests that rocks containing D. liebeana may form a correlative horizon in the Świebodzice Unit.

    The social being, human, is a spatial creature whose habitation space is called the residential microenvironment. An architectural object is a place in a separate space. The object-place in space is formed in a variety of ways, but so that it can only be a framework for events, without a specific definition and manner of implementation. Architecture is a form of separating space and constructing it from material and immaterial components. Human as a being, a form of life, fills the behavioral space with his existence, carrying out activities on various levels. The Świebodzice Railway Station is an example of contemporary avant-garde in the field of renovation and modernization, adopted methods and solutions, moreover hides the real and simulacrum credibility of feeling the space of an object. The historical-interpretative methods, was used as research methods. The result was the development of the construction and executive design of the Railway Station.

    Artykuł stanowi nader skromny przyczynek do dziejów domu zakonnego Zgromadzenia Szarych Sióstr św. Elżbiety w Świebodzicach na przestrzeni lat 1866-1945. Autor krótko opisuje genezę zakonu, jak również okoliczności pojawienia się sióstr oraz lokalizację placówki zakonnej na terenie miasta w oparciu o materiał kartograficzny (mapa) i ikonograficzny (zdjęcia, stare pocztówki). Dalej wspomina o przedmiocie działalności Elżbietanek. Ponadto dokonuje rekonstrukcji obsady personalnej domu zakonnego na przestrzeni lat 30. XX stulecia w świetle danych zawartych w przedwojennych księgach adresowych (mieszkańców) miasta. Wreszcie krótko omawia dzieje domu zakonnego w okresie II wojny światowej (1939-1945), a także tragiczne, powojenne losy poszczególnych sióstr w oparciu o prywatne ustalenia.
    The article is a very modest reason for the history of the religious house of the Congregation of the Grey Sisters of St. Elizabeth in Świebodzice during the years 1866-1945. The author briefly describes the origins of the order, as well as the circumstan-ces of the appearance of the sisters and the location of the religious institution in the city based on cartographic material (map) and iconographic (photos, old postcards). He goes on to mention the subject matter of Elizabethan activities. In addition, it reconstructs the personnel of the religious house during the 1930s in the light of the data contained in the pre-war address books (residents) of the city. Finally, he briefly discusses the history of the religious house during World War II (1939-1945), as well as the tragic post-war fate of individual sisters based on private arrangements.
