    Opis:
    In [4] W. Li and S.S. Cheng prove a Picard type existence and uniqueness theorem for iterative differential equations of the form y'(x) = f(x,y(h(x)+g(y(x)))). In this article I show some analogue of this result for a larger class of functions f (also discontinuous), in which a unique differentiable solution of considered Cauchy's problem is obtained.

    Opis:
    The biblical tradition has preserved many variants of the Judahite royal names. Some of these variations can be classified as orthographic irregularities, scribal confusions or the misinterpretations of the archival sources. However, there are also some examples that cannot be explained philologically. This applies particularly to the names of the following Judahite kings: Uzziah aka Azariah, Jehoahaz aka Shallum and Mattaniah aka Zedekiah. I suggest that in all three cases we are not dealing with a diversity of onomastic variants, but with six different pretenders to the David’s throne.

    W tekście opisano, na podstawie badań własnych, przypadek 65-letniej kobiety z zespołem Aspergera. Głównym celem badań było uzyskanie odpowiedzi na pytanie: jaka jest starość badanej kobiety z zespołem Aspergera? Artykuł rozpoczyna się od wprowadzenia teoretycznego w poruszaną problematykę, gdzie przedstawiono najważniejsze zagadnienia dotyczące zespołu Aspergera oraz starości i starzenia się z zaakcentowaniem teorii ciągłości. Następnie uwzględniono charakterystykę badanej kobiety w kontekście jej sytuacji rodzinnej, bytowej, edukacyjno-zawodowej, zdrowotnej, relacji międzyludzkich. Artykuł kończą wnioski i podsumowanie. Należy przy tym podkreślić, że opisany przypadek, może być traktowany jedynie jako badanie pilotażowe i przygotowanie gruntu dla kolejnych eksploracji o szerszym zakresie.
    The text describes, based on own research, the case of a 65-year-old woman with Asperger’s syndrome. The main aim of the research was to answer the question: what is the age of the examined woman with Asperger’s syndrome? The article begins with a theoretical introduction to the discussed issues, where the most important issues concerning Asperger’s syndrome and old age and aging are presented with emphasis on continuity theory. Next, the characteristics of the examined woman in the context of her family, living, educational and professional situation, health and interpersonal relations were taken into account. The article concludes with conclusions and a summary. It should be stressed that the described case can only be treated as a pilot study and preparation of the ground for further explorations of a wider scope.

    Dogmat Niepokalanego Poczęcia Matki Bożej, jako „doktrynalna synteza wiary chrześcijańskiej” (św. Jan Paweł II), mógłby posłużyć jako ognisko skupiające różne koncepcje i ujęcia teologiczne dotyczące historii zbawienia. Aby jednak tak mogło się stać, potrzeba pogłębienia i odkrycia bogactwa samej mariologii. Często bowiem traktowana jako dziedzina poboczna, jako kontekst dla innych dziedzin czy nawet źródło trudności w dialogu ekumenicznym, potrzebuje dziś swoistej odnowy. Postulat konstruowania tzw. mariologii obiektywnej zakłada zachowanie autonomii teologii jako nauki, obiektywizację merytoryczną i formalną w teologicznej refleksji o Maryi. Aby spełnić te postulaty, należy ubiegać się o uszanowanie nadprzyrodzonej celowości oraz źródeł teologii jako takiej, umacniać i rozwijać mariologię biblijną oraz refleksję ojców Kościoła. Potrzeba także czerpania z bogactwa szkoły franciszkańskiej w refleksji nad jednością planu stworzenia i Odkupienia w odwiecznych zamysłach Boga. Wreszcie nie można zgodzić się na zerwanie „hermeneutyki ciągłości” katolickiej nauki o Najświętszej Maryi Pannie, Matce Boga, Niepokalanej i Wniebowziętej. Artykuł stara się omówić istotę powyższych postulatów oraz proponuje konkretne warunki dla umożliwienia rozwoju tzw. mariologii obiektywnej. Ważnym jej elementem jest wyjście od Pierwszej Osoby Trójcy Świętej w refleksji nad planem zbawienia, którego Niepokalane Poczęcie jest alfalnym i omegalnym elementem.
    As a “doctrinal synthesis of the Christian faith” (St. John Paul II), the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of the Mother of God could serve as a focal point that brings together various theological concepts and approaches pertaining to salvation history. For that to happen, however, it is necessary to delve into anddiscover the richness of Mariology. Often regarded as a secondary discipline, as a context for other disciplines or even as a source of difficulties in ecumenical dialogue, Mariology nowadays needs a revival of its own. The call for constructing an “objective Mariology” presumes that the autonomy of theology as an academicdiscipline will be preserved and that theological reflection on the Virgin Mary will be objectivised in terms of both form and content. To meet these demands, one must strive to respect the supernatural purpose and sources of theology as such, and strengthen and develop biblical Mariology as well as the reflection of theChurch Fathers. Furthermore, there is a need to draw from the rich legacy of the Franciscan school when reflecting on the unity of God’s plan of creation and Redemption in His eternal reasons. Finally, one must not accept a departure from the “hermeneutic of continuity” in the Catholic doctrine on the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Immaculate and Assumed. The article sets out to describe the essence of the above assumptions and proposes specific conditions that would foster the development of “objective Mariology.” In that respect, it is important to establish the First Person of the Holy Trinity as the starting point for any reflection on the plan of salvation—of which the Immaculate Conception is the ultimate origin and ultimate goal.

    For a relatively compact subset \(S\) of the real line \(\BR\), let \(R(S)\) denote the Banach space (under the sup norm) of all regulated scalar functions defined on \(S\). The purpose of this paper is to study those closed subspaces of \(R(S)\) that consist of functions that are left-continuous, right-continuous, continuous, and have a (two-sided) limit at each point of some specified disjoint subsets of \(S\). In particular, some of these spaces are represented as \(C(K)\) spaces for suitable, explicitly constructed, compact spaces \(K\).
