Związki – życiowe i zawodowe – z Polską, Niemcami i Francją oraz estetyczne konteksty i artystyczne środowiska kolejnych miejsc kariery ukształtowały aktorstwo filmowe Anny Prucnal jako fenomen, w którym nad czytelnymi źródłami lokalnymi i pierwiastkami narodowymi nadbudowuje się niesprowadzalne do nich Inne-Ponad. Dzięki temu Prucnal w filmach Felliniego, Makavejeva, Deville’a, Wajdy, Vadima czy Amalrica z jednej strony funkcjonuje jako fascynująca i drażniąca Obca, z drugiej zaś, przekraczając to, co lokalne, może być z powodzeniem zasymilowana przez kino międzynarodowe (co paradoksalnie obróciło się przeciw aktorce, gdy po 1989 r. podjęła próbę powrotu do tego, co lokalne – kina polskiego). Autorzy dokonują opisu środków wyrazu w filmowych rolach Prucnal, analizują jej swoisty i „przesadny” sposób bycia na ekranie, zastanawiając się, na ile jest ona „ciałem obcym”, a na ile wnosi niepowtarzalną – transgresyjną, dysonansową, konfuzyjną – „wartość dodaną”. Celem artykułu jest określenie „syndromu aktorskiego Prucnal” oraz interpretacja kształtujących go sił (przez odniesienie m.in. do opery, estetyki Felsensteina i Brechta, Studenckiego Teatru Satyryków, awangardy teatralnej Awinionu, kontrkultury i kampu, lewackości) przede wszystkim z perspektywy strategii reinterpretacji znaków kultur narodowych oraz napięć między tym, co lokalne, transnarodowe, międzynarodowe.
Relationships – life and professional – with Poland, Germany and France, and aesthetic contexts and artistic communities of the places where she worked, shaped Anna Prucnal’s film acting as a phenomenon in which the readable sources of local and national elements are obscured by the irreducible Other-Different. Thanks to that Prucnal in films be Fellini, Makavejev, Deville, Wajda, Vadim or Amalric functions on the one hand as the fascinating, disturbing Other, and on the other hand by transcending the local, she might be easily assimilated by international cinema (which paradoxically turned against the actress, when after 1989, she tried to return to the local, that is Polish cinema). The authors describe the means of expression in Prucnal’s roles, they analyse her characteristic, “excessive” presence on the screen. They ponder to what extend is she a “foreign body” and to what extend is she a unique, transgressive, dissonant, confusing “added value”. The aim of the article is the definition of “Prucnal’s acting syndrome” and the interpretation of the forces that shaped it (by reference to opera, the aesthetics of Brecht and Felsenstein, Student Satirical Theatre, Avignon avant-garde theatre, counter-culture and camp, and left wing views), above all from the perspective of the strategy of reinterpretation of symbols of national cultures and tensions between what is local, transnational and international.

The author attempts to depict made the models of thinking about Different (student). Treating the student as a starfish in the holistic sense she analyzes the perceptions of Different at school by the teaching staff. The author digresses if the student is necessary for the teacher, in what aspect can the student be called a donor or a teacher’s enemy. Different develops us, encourages our creativity, or led us to intellectual and spiritual regression. Finally, the text resolves whether Different builds or destroys teacher’s identity.
Autorka podejmuje się próby nakreślenia modeli myślenia o Innym (uczniu). Traktując go jako rozgwiazdę w sensie holistycznym, dokonuje analizy sposobów postrzegania Innego (ucznia) na gruncie szkoły przez grono pedagogiczne. Rozważa następujące kwestie: Czy Inny (uczeń) jest potrzebny nauczycielowi? W jakim aspekcie można go nazwać darczyńcą, a w jakim wrogiem nauczyciela? Czy Inny (uczeń) rozwija nas, sprzyja naszej kreatywności, czy też kurczymy się przy nim w sensie intelektualnym i duchowym? Ostatecznie tekst rozstrzyga o tym, czy Inny (uczeń) buduje, czy też niszczy tożsamość nauczyciela.

It seems that Tadeusz Różewicz’s poem titled Francis Bacon or Diego Velazquez in a Dentist’s Chair is dedicated to the works of the author of Studies of Crucifixion. In fact, Różewicz writes about the impression that Bacon’s art left on him when he saw it in galleries and museums. This poem is also about fascination. Contrary to what may seem intuitive, it is not an attempt to describe the poet’s own way of interpreting these works; and even if so, this is only true to a limited extent. For Różewicz, Bacon’s works were just a pretext to look at himself, especially at his own early poems, from a distance – from a somewhat ironic distance. In this way the poet is able to present himself as “the other”, thus referring to the title of Paul Ricoeur’s book.

Issues related to stereotypes have their reference in literature from various areas. It is worth bringing their significance closer to being aware of the nature of the issues discussed. The article introduces the issue of stereotypes and prejudices. Concepts have been defined and their scope defined. Attention is also paid to the ethnic stereotype and other characteristic elements. Efforts were made to explain what stereotype should be.
Zagadnienia związane ze stereotypami mają swoje odniesienie w literaturze z różnych obszarów. Warto jest przybliżyć ich znaczenie, by mieć świadomość istoty omawianej problematyki. W artykule dokonano wprowadzenia w zagadnienie stereotypów i uprzedzeń. Zdefiniowano pojęcia i określono ich zakres. Zwrócono tu też uwagę na stereotyp etniczny i inne charakterystyczne elementy. Starano się przybliżyć, jaki powinien być stereotyp.

The article explores the issues of perceiving the culturally Different in local communities, both culturally homogeneous and differentiated ones. What constitutes the main reference is the research carried out among upper-secondary school youth in two local communities of different socio-cultural reality. Another World jest w tym świetle nie tylko wnikliwym spojrzeniem na relację: gracz–Inny, ale również refleksją na temat programowania jako jednoczesnego katalizatora izolacji i otwarcia na Innego.
The aim of this article is to demonstrate the relationship between Another World and Emmanuel Lévinas’s philosophy of dialogue. The researcher, taking into account the French philosopher’s reflections on separation, atheism and Face, proposes to read the work of Éric Chahi as a self-reflective form of authorial expression. Another World is not only a thorough look at the relationship between players and the Other, but also a reflection on programming as a simultaneous catalyst for isolation and opening up to the Other.

W pierwszej polskiej monografii poświęconej Peterowi Weirowi autorzy proponują całościowe odczytanie dorobku australijskiego reżysera przez pryzmat zróżnicowanego charakteru, jaki w jego filmach przybierają zmagania z tym, co inne, obce, niepojęte. W recenzji książki Karolina Kostyra rozwija spostrzeżenia autorów, dostarczając kolejnych argumentów za proponowanym przez Kempną-Pieniążek i Pieniążka ujęciem Weira jako reżysera zmagającego się z różnicą kulturową i dostrzegającego w zjawiskach, które z perspektywy zachodniego oglądu mogą jawić się jako irracjonalne, właściwą im racjonalność, nie pozbawiając przy tym analizowanych filmów zawartych w nich niedopowiedzeń i tajemnic.
Review of the book by Magdalena Kempna-Pieniążek and Przemysław Pieniążek Inny/Obcy. Transnarodowe i transgresyjne motywy w twórczości Petera Weira [Different/Other. Transnational and Transgressive Motives in the Works of Peter Weir] (2017). In the first Polish monograph devoted to Peter Weir, the authors propose a holistic reading of the Australian director’s achievements through the prism of a diverse character of the struggle with what is different, foreign, incomprehensible present in his films. In the review of the book, Karolina Kostyra develops the authors’ observations, providing further arguments Kempna-Pieniążek and Pieniążek proposed approach to Weir as a director struggling with cultural difference and perceiving in phenomena, that from the perspective of Western view may appear as irrational, their proper rationality, not depriving the analysed films of the incompleteness and secrets contained in them.

Artykuł stanowi formę raportu z badań dotyczących stosunku i postrzegania przez osoby młode – studentów pedagogiki – starości przebiegającej w ośrodku pomocy społecznej dla osób starych. Analiza zgromadzonego materiału empirycznego została wzbogacona przykładami wypowiedzi dotyczących różnych płaszczyzn spostrzeżeń związanych z obserwacją ludzi starych zamieszkujących zinstytucjonalizowaną placówkę. Ponadto w artykule starano się ukazać przyczynę wielu trudnych emocji opisywanych przez studentki i studentów, jakie pojawiały się względem podopiecznych ośrodka.
The article is a form of a research report on the attitude and perception of young people – students of pedagogy – about the old age in the social welfare center for the elderly people. Analysis of the collected empirical material was enriched with examples of statements on different planes insights linked to observation of old people living in an institutional facility. Additionally, this article attempts to show the cause of many difficult emotions described by female and male students that appeared in relation to the pupils of the center.

The article presents the specificity of postdependency criticism as the one which better reflects Polish realities than postcolonial criticism. The concept of postdependency impuls is introduced, that is the stimulus appearing in the individual/collective consciousness when the position of the relationship between the dominant and subordinate subject changes. This stimulus animates narration of the end (oppression) and narration of the change which often holds the traces of discourses determined by bygone oppression, as proven by the contemporary Polish prose (works of M. Tulli, D. Masłowska, B. Umińska-Keff, I. Karpowicz, D. Bieńkowski and others) touching upon the subject of Others/Outsiders and comprehension of the concept “homeland”; this prose reveals the “secrets” of former subordinates and former dominators, sometimes it is nonheroic and modest/bashful. This has made postdependency narrative acquire postdependency, affective character.

This article is a comparative analysis between Charles Taylor's and Martin Heidegger's philosophy focusing on three main terms: mine-ness, other and world.  It is a search for similarities and differences between these terms.In the view of results, mine-ness appears to be the most similar aspect of these two philosophies.  It is a core term used for describing both Dasein and self. Close similarities have been marked for the "world" as well. These parallels are based on philosophers understanding of this word, of what it means to "self" and how this includes "others". The article is divided into three parts, each dedicated to one of the main themes of this work.Concluding, although there are some similarities and differences between Taylor's and Heidegger's philosophies and that there is a significant time gap between the main works concerning discussed in this article issues, what makes them most alike is how still up-to-date these philosophies are.

The aim of this article is to show that cities are very often attacked because of their characteristic of ‘otherness’. ‘The other’ may be understood as other religion, other ethnicity, other culture, other political views or other people which is closely related to the idea of diversity, heterogeneity, pluralism and density as essential features of contemporary cities. The author examines theories explaining motives for destroying cities like the latter being a part of genocide or a distinct theory of urbicide. Finally the author proposes looking at the destruction of cities through the lens of destroying ‘the other’ and the possibility of a community. The research methods used include desk research and formal-legal analysis. Formal-legal analysis focuses on the jurisprudence of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the desk research on the relevant literature at the intersection of urban studies and international studies.
Celem artykułu jest pokazanie, że miasta są bardzo często atakowane ze względu na swoją cechę „inności”. Przez „innego” można rozumieć inną religię, inną etniczność, inną kulturę, inne poglądy polityczne lub inne osoby, co jest ściśle związane z ideą różnorodności, heterogeniczności, pluralizmu i gęstości jako istotnych cech współczesnych miast. Autorka analizuje teorie wyjaśniające motywy niszczenia miast, takie jak te traktujące niszczenie miast jako część ludobójstwa lub jak odrębna teoria miastobójstwa. Wreszcie autorka proponuje spojrzenie na niszczenie miast przez pryzmat niszczenia „innego” i możliwości wspólnoty. Wykorzystywane metody badawcze to analiza treści oraz analiza formalno-prawna. Analiza formalno-prawna koncentruje się na orzecznictwie Międzynarodowego Trybunału Karnego do spraw Zbrodni w b. Jugosławii, a analiza treści na relewantnej literaturze z pogranicza studiów miejskich i studiów międzynarodowych.

The aim of the text taken in this text is to present the construct of sexual education as other in the educational discourse. I found interesting here the areas of constructing and categorizing this field of education at school in the context of other activities carried out in it, as well as the pedagogical consequences of this state of affairs. Giving birthmarks of otherness concerns not so much the subject that represents this field of education, but the actions affecting its specific constitution in the school's program. You can indicate here: involvement in the creation of a program of representatives of the two ministries, the possibility of negotiating the scope of content carried out on these classes by parents and adult students and the possible refusal to participate in them. As specific, one may further consider the construction of a name for an object in which the determinant: sexual does not appear. The practical exclusion of this subject from the group of those that are subject to evaluation seems to serve to avoid negative social reactions.
Celem podjętych w tym tekście rozważań stanie się ukazanie konstruktu wychowania seksualnego jako innego w dyskursie edukacyjnym. Za interesujące uznałam tu obszary konstruowania  i kategoryzowania tej dziedziny wychowania w szkole na tle innych realizowanych w niej zajęć,  a także pedagogiczne konsekwencje tego stanu rzeczy. Nadanie znamion inności dotyczy nie tyle samego przedmiotu reprezentującego tę dziedzinę wychowania, ile zabiegów oddziałujących na jego określoną konstytucję w programie szkoły. Można tu wskazać na zaangażowanie w tworzenie dlań programu reprezentantów dwóch resortów, możliwość negocjowania zakresu treści realizowanych na tych zajęciach przez rodziców oraz pełnoletnich uczniów i ewentualnej odmowy w nich udziału. Za specyficzne można dalej uznać skonstruowanie nazwy dla przedmiotu, w której nie pojawia się określnik: seksualny. Uniknięciu niekorzystnych reakcji społecznych wydaje się służyć również praktyczne wyłączenie tego przedmiotu z grupy tych, które podlegają ewaluacji.

A borderland is a special place, in which he is seeking the multilateral inspection “I” and surrounding “I” reality, perceptions other as similar to oneself, and at the same time autonomous in one’s individuality. In the article I am reading the novel out Tunnel of Magdalena Parys in the prospect of intersubjective poetics. An intersubjectivity is an awareness of directing at being in the human environment, in which the agreement is playing a great role social-cultural. In analysis I am paying attention particularly to the narration in the novel Tunnel narration, emphasizing the cognitive dimension which is rooted in human mental abilities for her. Our awareness is functioning under the procedure for permanent directing at the participation other - perceived presence with senses, secondarily encoded in language, conditioning our social behaviour and communications practice. The project of the tunnel is stopping being a decoration, and is becoming a process of penetrating into the concealed ability to understanding any created space by the man and understanding oneself.
