    Maritime freight transport represents an effective solution, allowing to ensure a low-impact service both under an economic and a sustainable perspective. As a consequence, in the last ten years, an increasing trend of goods transported by sea has been observed. In order to improve the terminal containers’ performance, recently published scientific studies shown the applicability of the ‘lean logistic’ concept as a strategic key for ensuring a continuous improvement of the logistic chain for inter-/intra terminal containers’ activities. According to this approach, the adoption of a dry port can positively affect terminal containers’ performance, but this requires resources and investments due to inter-terminal activities (e.g. transport of the container from port to dry port and vice versa). The purpose of the study is to develop a mathematical programming optimization model to support the decision making in identifying the best containers’ handling strategy for intermodal facilities, according to lean and green perspectives. Numerical experiments shown the effectiveness of the model in identifying efficient material handling strategies under lean and green perspective.

    In China dry ports enter into a rapid development period now, however for many Chinese dry ports, the operation faces difficulties duo to inefficient logistics networks and cooperation relationship between dry ports and seaports. Focusing on the concession cooperation mechanism of seaports and dry ports, and the environmental constraints (carbon emissions and congestion cost), a bi-objective location-allocation MILP model for the sustainable hinterland-dry ports-seaports logistics network optimization is formulated, aiming at the system logistics costs and carbon emissions to be minimized. Moreover, for the cooperation mechanism of seaports to dry ports, a parameter called cooperation cost concession coefficient is proposed for the optimization model, and a new evaluation method based on the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator is used to evaluate it. Then a location-allocation decision-making framework for the hinterland-dry port-seaport logistics network is proposed. The innovative aspect of the model is that it can proposes a effective and environment friendly dry ports location strategic and also give insights into the connective cooperation relationships, and cargo flows of the network. A case study involving configuration of dry ports in Henan Province is conducted, and the model is successfully applied.

    Opis:
    High - quality transport infrastructure is one of the key elements of the modern economy. At present, in the context of growing transportations volume, the development of transport infrastructure is of particular importance for all countries. The role of dry ports in constructing cross-border logistics networks attracts more attention to the countries governments. This article discusses the concept of "dry port" as an element of transport and logistics infrastructure for the modern transport system, and the prospects for the development of such facilities in international significance. The paper focused on the modern transportation network, which connects the inland cross-border logistics network through dry ports through concept of smart logistics at the macro level on the scale of continental cooperation in Eurasia. The main goal of this article is to develop a methodology for the formation of integrated infrastructure management of international importance in the concept of "Dry port" and "Smart logistics", taking into account the peculiarities of the use of transport and cross-border infrastructure of countries for the formation of new transport solutions in the East-West-East corridors.

    Koleje większości państw Unii Europejskiej używają rozstawu szyn o normalnej szerokości, tj. 1435 mm. Wyjątkiem są koleje Hiszpanii i Portugalii (1668 mm), Finlandii i Estonii (1524 mm), Irlandii (1600 mm), Litwy i Łotwy (1520 mm) oraz krajów leżących na wschód od UE – Rosji, Ukrainy i Białorusi (1520 mm). W miejscach, gdzie występuje styk sieci obu szerokości, czyli na stacjach granicznych, zachodzi konieczność przeładunku lub przepompowywania towarów, co wiąże się z budową tzw. suchych portów oraz niezbędnego zaplecza. Są to inwestycje kosztowne, wymagające także zatrudnienia licznego personelu, ponieważ nie wszystkie czynności można zautomatyzować.

    Currently, focus on dry ports in the People's Republic of China (PRC) is growing, and therefore, the number of dry ports in the country is actively increasing. Due to the multifunctionality of dry ports, they meet the modern requirements of China's transport policy, which prioritizes improving the quality of providing transportation services by providing general access to value-added and high-quality services. The purpose of the PRC's transport system is also to facilitate the movement of freight flows within the State's territory, due to a faster modal shift, increased accessibility of transport, development of auxiliary functions, and construction of integrated transport hubs. Dry ports deal with the mentioned tasks; however, with the increase in the number of dry ports in the PRC, the issue of optimizing the interaction between dry ports has become urgent. The purpose of this research is to scientifically substantiate the need for strengthening technological cooperation between dry ports. The problem of determining the optimal structure of the system of interaction of dry ports was solved using the method of discreteevent simulation and the anyLogistix software tool. The results of assessment of the economic efficiency of the interaction between dry ports are presented. The results of experiments with a model of China’s dry port system showed the possibility of increasing the total profit of participants of the supply chain by 2.3 times and their profitability by 2.6 times, reducing the cost of container transportation by 1.3 times, and fully meeting the demand for transportation. It has been proven that the cooperation of dry ports in supply chains provides enhanced opportunities for processing cargo flows, as a result of the redirection of cargo consignments from overloaded dry ports to dry ports with reserves ith processing capacity. A methodology for optimizing the structure of the system of interaction of dry ports is presented. The methodology is proposed for use as a tool for strategic and current planning of supply chains.

    „Suchy port” jest koncepcją przeniesienia części funkcji morskiego terminalu kontenerowego do lądowego zaplecza portu, jakim jest terminal kontenerowy dysponujący połączeniem kolejowym z terminalem morskim i przyjmujący z niego intermodalne jednostki logistyczne, głównie kontenery. Zadaniem „suchego portu” jest odciążenie terminalu morskiego od grupowania kontenerów i formowania pociągów blokowych według określonych kierunków wysyłki. Koncepcja zakłada, że kontenery są przewożone na terminal lądowy, w którym odbywa się ich sortowanie, grupowanie i wysyłka do docelowych terminali kontenerowych, skąd rozwożone są za pomocą transportu samochodowego do magazynów usługodawców logistycznych lub bezpośrednio do końcowych odbiorców. Węzeł logistyczny, pełniący rolę „suchego portu” musi dysponować określoną liniową i punktową infrastrukturą logistyczną. W artykule rozpatruje się potencjał logistyczny aglomeracji poznańskiej jako możliwego miejsca lokalizacji „suchego portu”.
    “Dry port” is an idea involving moving some functions of a marine container terminal to an inland port in the form of a container terminal with railway connection to a marine terminal, able to take over intermodal logistic units from that terminal, mostly containers. The aim of a “dry port” is to relieve a marine terminal of consolidating containers and forming block trains in accordance with specific directions of shipment. The idea assumes than containers are transported to the inland terminal at which they are sorted, consolidated and shipped to a container terminal of their destination from where they are delivered road to the warehouses of logistic service providers or directly to their end buyers. The logistic hub which is to perform the role of a “dry port” must have at its disposal certain logistic infrastructure, both linear and nodal. The article analyses the logistic potential of the Poznań urban agglomeration as a possible area for the location of a “dry port”.
