Opis:
Ab initio calculations based on the density functional theory have been performed to investigate the migrations of interstitial helium (He) atoms in Au-Ag alloys with two different mass ratios (Au₃Ag₂ and AuAg). The results show that the migration mechanisms of He atoms mainly depend on the crystal structures of alloys, and their migration energy barriers are affected by the migration paths in Au-Ag alloys. He interstitials preferentially occupied the most stable sites, but it is difficult for He interstitials to migrate to nearest most stable sites via second stable positions at room temperature. When He atom is at the tetrahedral position which has higher formation energy, it possibly migrates to nearest tetrahedral positions directly for AuAg alloy. In addition, comparing the migration of He defects in the two alloys, we found that the properties of migration energy and relative stability of He atoms probably slightly depend on the mass-density of Au-Ag alloys.

Opis:
The thermal decomposition kinetics of hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane/ ammonium perchlorate (HNIW/AP) have been investigated by thermogravimetrydifferential scanning calorimetry-mass spectrometry (TG-DSC-MS) simultaneous analysis. TG showed that there were three weight loss processes for the thermal decomposition of the HNIW/AP mixture. The first was ascribed mainly to the thermal decomposition of HNIW, while the second and third were assigned to that of AP. The presence of AP has little effect on the thermal decomposition process of the HNIW component. The apparent activation energy of the thermal decomposition of the HNIW component, calculated by the Kissinger method, was little changed compared to that of neat HNIW. The addition of HNIW to AP caused the onset and end temperatures of the thermal decomposition to be decreased and the decomposition process to be shortened. The high-temperature and lowtemperature decomposition processes of AP became blurred in the presence of HNIW, and this was supported by the MS results.

Opis:
The pre-concentration of electrode material of spent lithium-ion battery has great significance on the resource utilization and environmental protection. The feasibility of separation of graphite and LiCoO2 based on density difference using the enhanced gravity concentrator was verified in this paper. Combustion characteristics of LiCoO2 and graphite were used to propose a simple evaluation index of separation efficiency. Separation tests were carried out to specify the influence of operating parameters on the separation efficiency. Moreover, the effect of particle size on the separation performance was studied. Combustion characteristics results showed that mass loss of graphite was much greater than that of LiCoO2. Thus, mass loss were used to evaluate the purity of product. Effective separation of graphite and LiCoO2 was achieved by the enhanced centrifugal separator. Separation results showed that increasing centrifugal force decreased the overflow yield and increased the graphite content of the overflow stream. In addition, yield of overflow grew an increase in fluidization water pressure, while the purity of graphite in overflow decreased. The effect of particle size on the separation efficiency was also significant, the separation efficiency decreased with the decreasing of particle size.

A new edrioblastoid Cambroblastus guolensis is described from the Furongian (late Cambrian) Sandu Formation (South China). This represents the second occurrence of a Cambrian edrioblastoid, and the first ever reported from Asia, extending the palaeogeographic range of this very rare echinoderm grade. Surprisingly it preserves a complete stem and a distal holdfast suggesting edrioblastoids were hard substrate attachers living in soft bottom quiet environments.

The two-dimensional compressor flow simulation approach has always been a very valuable tool in compressor preliminary design studies, as well as performance predictions. In this context, a general development of the streamline curvature (SLC) method is elucidated firstly. Then a numerical method based on SLC is developed to simulate the internal flow of the compressor according to the development analysis and conclusion. Two certain transonic axial compressors are calculated by this 2D method. The speed lines and span-wise aerodynamic parameters are compared with the experiment data in order to demonstrate the method presented in this paper.

Opis:
The goal of the current paper is to investigate inner flow behavior on stall inception in a transonic compressor rotor. The stall inception process is numerically carried out by unsteady 3-D simulations based on the throttle model. The current study shows that stall starts from the tip of the blade, and stall cell extends to the axial, circumferential and radial directions. Through the comparison of flow transition characteristics at different flow rate conditions, the interface between the incoming flow and tip clearance flow shifts forward to the upstream as the mass flow decreases. Eventually, the shock detaches from the blade leading edge, and tip clearance flow spills into the adjacent blade passage, thus stall happens in the affected blade passages.

Visual homing enables mobile robots to move towards a previously visited location solely based on panoramic vision sensors. In this paper, a SIFT-based visual homing approach incorporating machine learning is presented. The proposed approach can reduce the impact of inaccurate landmarks on the performance, and generate more precise home direction with simple model. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified on both panoramic image databases and actual mobile robot, experimental results reveal that compared to some traditional visual homing methods, the proposed approach exhibits better homing performance and adaptability in both static and dynamic environments.

Opis:
To understand the loss mechanism of slot-type casing treatment, a numerical loss analysis has been carried out in a 1.5 axial transonic compressor stage with various slots. Spanwise and streamwise distribution curves of pitch-averaged entropy have been presented to survey the development of loss generation. Further, detailed entropy distributions at eight axial cuts, which have been taken through the blade row and slots, have been further analyzed to interpret the loss mechanism. The most dramatic loss growth occurred above 95% span, which directly resulted from slots injection flow upstream the leading edge. Loss generations with smooth casing have been primarily ascribed to low-momentum tip leakage flow/vortex and suction surface separation at the leading edge. CU0 slot, the arc-curved slots with 50% rotor tip exposure, has been capable of suppressing the suction surface separation loss. Meanwhile, accelerated tip leakage flow brought about additional loss near the casing and pressure surface. Upstream high entropy flow would be absorbed into the rear portion of slots repeatedly, which resulted in further loss.

The Silurian fishes from north-western Hunan, China are characterised by the earliest known galeaspids Dayongaspis Pan and Zeng, 1985 and Konoceraspis Pan, 1992, and the earliest known antiarch Shimenolepis Wang J.-Q., 1991, as well as rich sinacanth fin spines. Shimenolepis from Lixian County in north-western Hunan, which was dated as the Telychian (late Llandovery), has long been regarded as the oldest representative of the placoderms in the world. As such, in addition to eastern Yunnan and the Lower Yangtze Region, north-western Hunan represents another important area in South China that yields important fossil material for the research of early vertebrates and related stratigraphy. Here we summarise the Silurian fishes known in north-western Hunan so far, and classify them into three vertebrate assemblages (i.e., the Wentang, Maoshan, and Yangtze assemblages). Based on the updated Silurian vertebrate and stratigraphic databases, the Silurian fish-bearing strata in north-western Hunan can be subdivided into the Rongxi, Huixingshao, and Xiaoxi formations in ascending chronological order, which can be correlated with the Lower Red Beds, the Upper Red Beds, and the Ludlow Red Beds in South China, respectively. A new look at the Silurian strata in Lixian suggests that the age of Shimenolepis is late Ludlow rather than late Llandovery as previously suggested. The research on Silurian fishes and biostratigraphy in north-western Hunan not only provides morphological data of early vertebrates, but also offers new palaeoichthyological evidence for the subdivision, correlation, and age assignment of the Silurian marine red beds in South China. The establishment of a related high-precision Silurian stratigraphic framework in north-western Hunan will help to elucidate the temporal and spatial distribution of Silurian fossil fishes, deepen the understanding of the evolution of early vertebrates, and unravel the coevolution between Silurian vertebrates and the palaeoenvironment.

The ground state structures and magnetic properties of ZrₙNi (n = 1-9) clusters are studied by using first principles calculation. Firstly, we find the ground state configurations of ZrₙNi (n = 1-9) clusters. Secondly, the magic clusters (Zr₂Ni and Zr₇Ni) of ZrₙNi clusters are found by the comparisons of average binding energies, the second-order energy difference and energy gaps between the highest occupied orbital and the lowest unoccupied orbital of the ground state of ZrₙNi clusters. Thirdly, the calculated results show that magnetic moment of ZrₙNi (n = 1-2) clusters is 4 μ_{B}; however, the magnetic moment of ZrₙNi clusters is about 2 μ_{B} for n = 3-9 (exception for n = 7). Finally, it is found that the magnetic moment of ZrₙNi cluster mainly comes from Zr atom and Ni atom is the electron acceptor from the Mulliken population analysis.

Opis:
The anaerobic digestion of mixing brewery sludge with vinasse and silica mud at various ratios under thermophilic conditions was explored. Vinasse, silica mud and beer sludge (the sludge from the treatment of beer wastewater) are the main solid wastes of the beer production. Uncontrolled decom-position of these wastes could cause large-scale contamination of soil, water, and air. The results of the investigation showed that the optimal ratio of beer sludge and vinasse was 1:1 under total solids of 10%, producing the highest amount of gas of 1.34 cm3/g within 24 h and 4.06 cm3/g in 10 days. The silica mud weakened the fermentation process and reduced the gas production, and the concentration of total organic carbon, total nitrogen and volatile solids decreased during the digestion. For the mixture of brewery sludge and vinasse, the content of the total organic matter in the biogas manure was more than 60% and the value of pH was 6.5 after the anaerobic digestion, indicating that the manure can be used as an organic fertilizer.
