Opis:
With the rapid development of the polymer materials industry and the improvement of people's environmental awareness, magnesium hydroxide has been widely used in polymer materials due to its high decomposition temperature, non-toxic smoke suppression, and the advantages of neutralizing harmful gases produced by polymer combustion. However, the conventional preparation methods of magnesium hydroxide exhibit several issues, including high hydrophilicity, elevated polarity, and limited compatibility with polymers. This research proposes an improved method by adding sodium stearate and KH560 modifier, controlling the rate of magnesium oxide and preparing magnesium hydroxide flame retardants using a modifier-directed hydration method. Various characterizations confirmed its morphology, particle size and structure. The magnesium hydroxide exhibits low polarity, small particle size, stable structure and excellent hydrophobicity (with a contact angle of 120.32°, and a free energy of 1.34mN/m). In parallel, the magnesium hydroxide/polypropylene composites demonstrate excellent flame retardancy (LOI of 25%, V-1 grade) and simultaneously enhance the dispersion of magnesium hydroxide within the polypropylene matrix, improving the material's toughness and strength.

Opis:
An isogeometric boundary element method is applied to simulate wave scattering problems governed by the Helmholtz equation. The NURBS (non-uniform rational B-splines) widely used in the CAD (computer aided design) field is applied to represent the geometric model and approximate physical field variables. The Burton-Miller formulation is used to overcome the fictitious frequency problem when using a single Helmholtz boundary integral equation for exterior boundary-value problems. The singular integrals existing in Burton-Miller formulation are evaluated directly and accurately using Hadamard’s finite part integration. Fast multipole method is applied to accelerate the solution of the system of equations. It is demonstrated that the isogeometric boundary element method based on NURBS performs better than the conventional approach based on Lagrange basis functions in terms of accuracy, and the use of the fast multipole method both retains the accuracy for isogeometric boundary element method and reduces the computational cost.

Opis:
Reinforcement learning (RL) constitutes an effective method of controlling dynamic systems without prior knowledge. One of the most important and difficult problems in RL is the improvement of data efficiency. Probabilistic inference for learning control (PILCO) is a state-of-the-art data-efficient framework that uses a Gaussian process to model dynamic systems. However, it only focuses on optimizing cumulative rewards and does not consider the accuracy of a dynamic model, which is an important factor for controller learning. To further improve the data efficiency of PILCO, we propose its active exploration version (AEPILCO) that utilizes information entropy to describe samples. In the policy evaluation stage, we incorporate an information entropy criterion into long-term sample prediction. Through the informative policy evaluation function, our algorithm obtains informative policy parameters in the policy improvement stage. Using the policy parameters in the actual execution produces an informative sample set; this is helpful in learning an accurate dynamic model. Thus, the AEPILCOalgorithm improves data efficiency by learning an accurate dynamic model by actively selecting informative samples based on the information entropy criterion. We demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the proposed algorithm for several challenging controller problems involving a cart pole, a pendubot, a double pendulum, and a cart double pendulum. The AEPILCO algorithm can learn a controller using fewer trials compared to PILCO. This is verified through theoretical analysis and experimental results.

Magnetite reverse flotation using a new deep eutectic solvent synthesized by lactic acid and CTAC as the collector has been investigated in this work. The flotation test results were compared with dodecylamine. The CTAC/lactic acid DES increased the grade of total iron to 66.69%, and the reduce quartz content to 6.67%, which were preferable to dodecylamine (the grade of Fe in the concentrate is 63.47%, and the grade of quartz in the concentrate is 9.13%). The depression performance and adsorption mechanism of CTAC/lactic acid DES on surface of magnetite and quartz are investigated by FT-IR, zeta potential and XPS. The results show that the adsorption of CTAC/lactic acid DES on quartz surface is more effective than that of magnetite. Therefore, deep eutectic solvent is an effective reagent for reverse flotation of magnetite as collector.

Opis:
In order to find an economical and feasible short process for betafite preconcentrating and to provide a reference for the development of similar low-grade uranium deposits, preconcentration of the betafite ore was investigated based on mineralogical characterization study, float-sink tests, and dense medium cyclone (DMC) separation experiments. The float-sink test results revealed that the gravity separation of the betafite ore was feasible, and the expected particle size range was chosen to be 3~0.3 mm. The effect of important parameters of the DMC experiment such as particle size, grade of the feed, separation density, and inlet pressure on the separation performance of betafite ore was studied. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the expanded experiments were performed and the heavy minerals contained 4557 ppm U and 5200 ppm Nb2O5 with a recovery of 88.86% and 79.73%, respectively, were obtained. Besides, the enrichment ratio (E) values of U and Nb2O5 were 14.24 and 12.78 severally, and the tailings discarding ratio (R) value was 93.76%. The results demonstrate that the preconcentration of low-grade betafite by DMC can remove a large number of tailings and obtain a high-grade uranium concentrate.

Opis:
The fatigue life prediction of wire ropes has two main characteristics: a large test sample size and uncertain factors. In this paper, based on the small number of wire rope fatigue life data, the grey particle filter method has been used to realize the fatigue life prediction of wire rope under different load conditions. First, the GOM(1,1) model is constructed and the reliability life data of wire rope is predicted under small sample size. Then, P-S-N curve of the dangerous part is determined by combining the equivalent alternating stress of the dangerous part of the wire rope during the fatigue test. Subsequently, the particle filter method is used to modify P-S-N curve. Finally, the fatigue life prediction model of wire rope is obtained based on fatigue damage accumulation, which realized the fatigue life prediction under different load conditions, and the results were compared with that from the test. The results show that the proposed method is effective and has high accuracy in wire rope fatigue life prediction under single, combined loading conditions and small sample size.

Opis:
The effects of Pb(II) ions and Al(III) ions on the electro kinetic and flotation behavior of rutile were investigated by micro-flotation tests, zeta potential measurements and solution chemistry analysis. Micro-flotation results indicate that the Pb(II) ions can effectively improve the flotation recovery of rutile while the Al(III) ions significantly inhibit the flotation of rutile. Zeta potential measurements reveal that a collector styrene phosphoric acid (SPA) can adsorb on the rutile surface after the addition of Pb(II) ions, but hardly adsorb on the rutile surface after the addition of Al(III) ions. Pb(II) ions adsorb on the rutile surface in the form of Pb(OH)+ and Pb(OH)2(s), and the latter one is the main reason that activates rutile flotation. Al(III) ions adsorb on the rutile surface mainly in the form of Al(OH)3(s), which prevent the direct interaction between the rutile and the collector, resulting in a decrease of rutile flotation recovery.

Opis:
Inflammation plays an important role in the development of many obesity-related diseases. This study aimed to investigate the effect of ezetimibe on inflammation and myocardial remodeling in obese rats. A rat model of obesity was established, and myocardial damage was examined by transmission electron microscopy and Masson staining. Twenty obese rats were divided into two groups (n=10): obese group and ezetimibe group. Ten SD rats were used as controls. Western blot was performed to monitor the expression of P-p38MAPK and interleukin (IL)-6. Immunohistochemical staining was used to monitor the expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1. In the obese rats group, we observed increased inflammatory factors and myocardial hypertrophy. In contrast, the ezetimibe group exhibited decreased expression of inflammatory factors and an improvement in myocardial remodeling compared to the obese group. Mechanistically, we found that ezetimibe decreased P-p38MAPK, IL-6, intercellular adhesion molecule-1, and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 levels in the hearts of the obese rats. Taken together, these results indicate that ezetimibe may improve myocardial remodeling in obese rats by inhibiting inflammation.
