Opis:: W artykule poruszono kwestię kształtowania struktury agrarnej rolnictwa rodzinnego w Polsce. Przedstawiono tendencje oraz uwarunkowania zmian struktury agrarnej. Celem artykułu było określenie podstawowych opcji wyboru politycznego w zakresie zmian agrarnych. Nie ma obecnie warunków dla radykalnego przyspieszenia w tym zakresie. Nie ma też uzasadnienia postulat ograniczenia transferu środków publicznych jedynie do gospodarstw większych – silniejszych ekonomicznie.
The article presents the issue of agrarian structure of family farming in Poland and trends and determinants of changes in the agrarian structure. Its purpose is to define the fundamental options of political choices in terms of agrarian changes. Currently there are no conditions for radical changes in this range and there is no justification for limiting public funds transfer only to larger farms – economically stronger.

Opis:: The industrial agriculture model faces a great deal of criticism nowadays, most of all because of its external effects. Also its driving forces run out. This model is replaced by the sustainable agriculture model, which takes account of the limitations of natural resources, external costs and public good as well as social and economic objectives. Development of agriculture according to the sustainable agriculture model requires that the market mechanism be supplemented with the institutional (political) mechanism. This mechanism is developed within the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union. The model of sustainable agriculture corresponds to the new agricultural economics – a changed economic account covering, in addition to market “items”, other elements related to external costs and public goods created by agriculture. The globalisation process shifts the problems of agriculture to the global level, giving them new dynamics and strongly influencing agriculture in individual countries. External forces determine to a growing extent the functioning of agriculture, whereas the role of the institutional (political) factor is reduced, since globalisation in the political field lags behind the globalisation in the economy. The above mentioned factors exert their influence on the development of agriculture, adversely affecting the sustainable agriculture model.

Opis:: Celem badań była ocena sprawności ekonomicznej wybranych form gospodarstw przyjaznych dla środowiska przyrodniczego, z uwzględnieniem ich obszaru. Badaniem objęto 1487,6 tys. gospodarstw indywidualnych. Zaprezentowano ważniejsze wskaźniki sprawności ekonomicznej oraz źródła pozyskiwania dochodów rodzin rolniczych. Wyniki analizy potwierdzają znaczenie czynnika ziemi dla funkcjonowania i rozwoju zrównoważonych form rolnictwa. Im większy obszar, tym łatwiej można godzić cele ekologiczne i ekonomiczne. Skutki ekonomiczne zwiększenia areału badanych grup gospodarstw są niejednorodne. Gospodarstwa zrównoważone oraz ekologiczne wyróżniają się najlepszą strukturą ekonomiczną na tle pozostałych.
The assessment of the economic efficiency of selectedforms of environmental-friendly farming (taking account of their area) was the purpose of the research. The study included 1487,6 thous. individual holdings. There were presented more important indicators of economic efficiency and sources of revenues of farming families. The results of the analysis proved the importance of the agricultural area for the functioning and development of sustainable forms of agriculture. The larger area, the easier is to reconcile the ecological and economic objectives. The economic effects of the area increase of the selected groups ofholdings are not homogeneous. Sustainable and ecological farm stand out the best economic structure in comparison to others.

The systematic increase in the potential of the organic farms in Poland should be considered as positive and desired direction of agriculture development, due to the numerous environmental, economic and social benefits, as well as compliance with the future model of agriculture, based on renewable resources and environmental-friendly and social development of rural areas. The purpose of this article is to provide the basic characteristics of organic farms and their production and economic structures against the background of individual agricultural holdings in 2005-2010.
