Opis:
Relaxation and domain current oscillations in undoped semi-insulating GaAs were observed at room temperature for a broad range of voltage applied to a sample. The oscillations were characterized by a reconstruction of an attractor of the system. An analysis of the attractor helped to discriminate between the two likes of oscillations. A transition from one like of oscillations to the other was connected with a chaotization of the current. A chaotic state of the system was analyzed by calculations of fractal dimensions D$\text{}_{q}$ for -0.6 < g < 40 and the f(α) function.

Opis:
A nonlinear dynamics of self-generated current oscillations in semi-insulating GaAs was studied by the reconstruction of an attractor from a short (14500 points) time series. Two methods of choosing of a time constant (τ) for this reconstruction are compared. One of them assumes τ to be an argument of the first zero of the autocorrelation function and the other takes τ as an argument of the first minimum of the mutual information. It is shown that for periodic oscillations both methods are equivalent, but for chaotic ones only the mutual information gives a time constant which does not depend on a time series used for calculations.

Opis:
Heating of electrons by electric fields smaller than that required for generation of domain oscillations was investigated in samples of EL2-rich semi-insulating GaAs. Current-voltage characteristics were measured as a function of temperature between 268 K and 330 K. They exhibit a sublinear shape which is interpreted as a result of an enhanced electron capture on the EL2. The capture rate and the electron temperature as a function of the electric field was determined. A fitting procedure gave the value of electron capture cross-section on the EL2 to be 2.7 × 10$\text{}^{-13}$ cm$\text{}^{2}$ which agrees with literature data.

Opis:
Weak localization corrections to conductivity of a two-dimensional electron gas are studied by measurements of the magnetic field dependence of the conductivity in GalnAs quantum wells. We observe that, when presented as a function of the normalized magnetic field (x = B/B$\text{}_{tr}$, where B is the magnetic field, B$\text{}_{tr}$ = ħ/4eτD, D is the diffusion constant and τ is momentum relaxation time), different samples show very similar high field behaviour. A theoretical description is developed that allows one to describe in a consistent way high and low field behaviour. The theory predicts universal (B$\text{}^{1}\text{}^{/}\text{}^{2}$) behaviour of the conductivity correction for all 2D systems in the high field limit (r > 1). Low field behaviour depends strongly on spin and phase relaxation mechanisms. Comparison of the theory with experiment confirms the universal behaviour in the high field limit and allows one to estimate the spin and phase relaxation times for different GaInAs quantum wells.

Opis:
Spin relaxation in degenerated two-dimensional (2D) electron gas is studied by measurements of the magnetic field dependence of the weak antilocalization corrections to the conductivity in GaInAs quantum wells. Consistent quantitative (up to order of magnitude) description of weak antilocalization data on GaAs like heterojunctions and quantum wells was obtained. Our results show that spin precession around the effective magnetic field direction as described by the Dyakonov-Perel model is the main spin relaxation mechanism in degenerated 2D electron gas in semiconductors with no inversion symmetry.

Opis:
Several numerical methods were studied as means of solution to a penetration problem. The Element Free Galerkin (EFG), Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods were considered. The above mentioned algorithms implemented in the LS-DYNA code were applied. Additionally, the mesh density was taken into consideration. The reference case assumed an average node to node distance of 1 mm. The finer and coarser mesh densities were analysed. The full 3D models of the projectile and target were developed with a strain rate and temperature dependent material constitutive relations. An impact of 12.7x108 mm B32 armour piercing projectile on a 80 mm thick block of 7017 aluminium alloy was modelled. The results obtained by a computer simulation were validated and then verified by experimental data. The study of the erosion criteria involves defining the most efficient and reliable way of removing the failed and extremely deformed parts of the projectile and targets. Generally, EFG method applied to solve the perforation/penetration problems can be characterized as a very stable, reliable and effective method.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to conform an available material data for aluminum alloy material (P A11). This task was filled with the aid of computer modeling techniques, which are based on Finite Element Method (FEM), and our own experimental tests of quasistatic tension/compression material samples. For this kind of research FEM is most commonly used, but there are also other numerical methods that can be applied. The idea of FEM is the division of the given continuous area into a finite number of subareas (finite elements) connected with one another in nodal points and approximation of solution inside the finite elements using interpolation functions and function values in nodes. Numerical analysis was performed with the LS-Dyna commercial software. Reconstruction of conditions of experiment required application of implicit method of numerical integration in time, so called implicit solver. At this stage of work the aluminum alloy P A11 with respect to Johnson-Cook model was researched. A further work for fmding a good material data for WHA, U12A steel for other constitutive models will be performed. A good agreement of the numerical and experimental results is received. Other material data used in modeling, which were not determined by experiment, assumed according to literature sources.

This paper is concerned with two coupled Kaldor-Kalecki models of business cycles with delays in both the gross product and the capital stock. We consider two types of investment functions that lead to different behavior of the system. We introduce the model with unidirectional coupling to investigate the influence of a global economy (like the European Union) on a local economy (like Poland). We present detailed results of numerical analysis.
