Opis:
In this paper, as the first the rate equations in end-pumped fiber laser have been solved analytically with minimum approximation and the output power versus input power has been derived. Then, the heat conduction equation in the fiber which is in operation has been solved and the temperature distribution has been derived. The results were applied for a Yb-doped fiber laser and discussed.

Opis:
Applying models to interpret soil, water and plant relationships under different conditions enable us to study different management scenarios and then to determine the optimum option. The aim of this study was using Water and Agrochemicals in the soil, crop and Vadose Environment (WAVE) model to predict water content, nitrogen balance and its components over a corn crop season under both conventional tillage (CT) and direct seeding into mulch (DSM). In this study a corn crop was cultivated at the Irstea experimental station in Montpellier, France under both CT and DSM. Model input data were weather data, nitrogen content in both the soil and mulch at the beginning of the season, the amounts and the dates of irrigation and nitrogen application. The results show an appropriate agreement between measured and model simulations (nRMSE < 10%). Using model outputs, nitrogen balance and its components were compared with measured data in both systems. The amount of N leaching in validation period were 10 and 8 kg·ha–1 in CT and DSM plots, respectively; therefore, these results showed better performance of DSM in comparison with CT. Simulated nitrogen leaching from CT and DSM can help us to assess groundwater pollution risk caused by these two systems.
Zastosowanie modeli do interpretacji zależności, które zachodzą w różnych systemach uprawy między glebą, wodą i roślinami umożliwia zbadanie odmiennych scenariuszy gospodarowania, a następnie wybór optymalnej opcji. Celem badań było zastosowanie modelu WAVE (Water and Agrochemicals in the soil, crop and Vadose Environment) do prognozowania zawartości wody, bilansu azotu i jego form w sezonie wegetacyjnym w warunkach konwencjonalnej uprawy (CT) i siewu bezpośrednio w mulcz (DSM). Oba systemy zastosowano do uprawy zbóż w stacji doświadczalnej Irstea w Montpellier we Francji. Danymi wejściowymi do modelu były warunki pogodowe, zawartość azotu w glebie i w mulczu na początku sezonu wegetacyjnego, dawki i terminy nawodnień oraz nawożenie azotem. Wyniki potwierdzają zgodność pomiarów i symulacji modelowych (nRMSE < 10%). Porównano bilans azotu i jego składników uzyskane za pomocą modelu i na podstawie danych z bezpośrednich pomiarów w obu wariantach upraw. Ilość wymywanego azotu w okresie badań wynosiła 10 (system CT) i 8 kg·ha–1 (system DSM). Taki wynik dowodzi korzystniejszego oddziaływania systemu DSM w porównaniu z systemem CT. Symulacja wymywania azotu z upraw w systemie CT i DSM umożliwia ocenę ryzyka zanieczyszczenia azotem wód gruntowych w wyniku stosowania obu systemów uprawy.

Opis:
Seed-borne diseases of wheat such as Fusarium head blight (FHB), a fungal disease caused by several species of Fusarium, results in reduced yield and seed quality. The aim of this study was to identify the Fusarium species, the effect of Fusarium-infected seeds on germination and vigor indices and to determine the location of Fusarium spp. in seeds, as well as to investigate the pathogenicity and variability of aggressiveness of the isolates obtained from pre-basic seeds wheat fields in Iran. According to morphological and molecular characters, the species F. graminearum, F. culmorum, F. avenaceum and F. poae were identified. Among the isolates, F. graminearum was the predominant species with the highest frequency and relative density of 92.9% and 70.9%, respectively. We observed that germination and vigor indices were decreased due to increased Fusarium-infected seeds. Results indicated significant differences among cultivars and seed-borne Fusarium levels. While a higher infection level of Fusarium spp. most commonly occurred in the seed coat, only F. graminearum was observed in embryos. Our study about pathogenicity showed that 77.3% of the Fusarium spp. isolates were not pathogenic and 22.7% isolates of Fusarium spp. were pathogenic or weakly pathogenic. Our results indicated that variability in aggressiveness among isolates of a species and positive correlation may be determined by pathogenicity tests. This is the first time the location of Fusarium spp. in seeds has been identified. It is also the first time that Fusarium-infected seeds in pre-basic seeds wheat fields of Iran have been evaluated.

Opis:
Antimicrobial activities of the methanolic extracts from the leaves and flowers of Lippia nodiflora L. (Verbenaceae), were studied by the disk diffusion method. The extracts showed antimicrobial impact on bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis, B. cereus, Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia, K. oxytoca and Esherichia coli as well as fungi such Aspergillus niger and Candida albicanse. The results showed that increasing concentrations of extracts increased the antimicrobial activities in all of the microorganisms. Bacteria were more sensitive than fungi, and gram positive bacteria were more sensitive than gram negative ones.

Objectives. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between occupational cognitive failures (OCFs) and unsafe behaviors, accidents and driving offences among municipal bus drivers in Tehran, Iran. Methods. Systematic random sampling was used to select 190 drivers from 3 transport and traffic Tehran districts. Data were collected with the occupational cognitive failure questionnaire (OCFQ), the driver behavior questionnaire and a data collection form. Results. The mean (SD) numbers of driving-related offences and road traffic accidents were 1.5 (2.6) and 0.37 (1.0), respectively. The mean (SD) numbers of deliberate driving violations, unintended violations, driving slips and mistakes were 6.97 (5.5), 1.61 (1.5), 13.6 (9.0) and 4.53 (3.28), respectively. The mean (SD) number of the OCFs was 28.9 (20.5). A significant correlation was found between occupational cognitive error and unsafe driving behavior subscales. The stepwise logistic regression results showed that, while controlling the effects of confounding factors, the OCF predicts 6%, 9%, 15% and 9% of deliberate violations, unintended violations, driving slips and driving mistakes, respectively. Conclusion. The results of this study show that the score of the OCFQ is a predictor of unsafe driving behaviors and its subscales.
