Opis:
The purpose of the study undertaken between May 2018 and April 2019 is to determine the effect of rain water intensity on the value of macrozoobenthos structures in Ciletuh Bay. The data used in this research and directly taken from the research site are seawater quality parameters, analysis of sample granulometry and identification of the sample macrzoobenthos, while all data processing was conducted in the laboratory. The method used in this study was purposive sampling. The result of this research in sand type sediment texture brought a count of 96 macrozoobenthos individuals. In contrast, the count was only 7 in silt type sediments. The study concluded that the effect of varied rainfall intensity impacts the water quality parameters that caused the difference types of sediment in Ciletuh Bay.

Opis:
The purpose of this research conducted between October 2018 and April 2019 was to determine the effect of the first and second transitional season on the nutrient profile in Ciletuh Bay. The data used in this research and directly taken from the research site were seawater quality parameters, analysis of granulometry sample and analysis of nutrient profile, while all data processing was conducted in a laboratory. The method used in this study was purposive sampling. The results of this research indicated that the nutrient profile in the first transitional season is higher than the second transition season. This is due to the introduction of organic matter into the waters. From this research it can be concluded that the first transitional season affects the concentration of nutrient in Ciletuh Bay.

Opis:
The observation and direct sampling, as well as laboratory tests of this research was conducted from June until October 2018. This study aims to determine the existence of microplastics in the sediment of water bodies in Kupang and Rote Districts based on the number, type, size and abundance of microplastics. The data used in this study include the type of sediment, microplastic abundance and the characteristics of the data collection area. Microplastics are plastic particles sized less than 5 mm, and in our research, were divided into 4 types: manifold fiber, fragment, film and pellets. Herein, 849 particles of microplastic were found: 635 fibers, 160 particle fragments, and 54 particle films. The primary influencing factor for microplastic deposition is the sedimentary texture itself. Sediments of a coarse type do not capture as much microplastic as do sediments of a finer texture. Data collection area characteristics also affect accumulation.

Opis:
The chlorophyll-a (chl) abundances on the Fisheries Management Area of Indonesia Republic (WPP-RI 572), as fishery resources over the western coast of Sumatera (WSC) and Sunda Strait, were examined in this study. The extensive investigation on the mechanism ocean dynamics on chl variability along WSC was observed by using remotely sensed data on the surface. The spatial analysis was conducted using the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Aqua Ocean colour data for a period of January 2003 to December 2015. On seasonal time scale, the surface chlorophyll-a (schl) concentration in the southern tip of Sumatra is higher than the schl in the northern tip of Sumatra. The obtained results showed that the schl concentration in the southern tip of Sumatra increases (decreases) during the southeast (northwest) monsoons. Interestingly, its interactions with the southeast monsoon wind result in intensified coastal upwelling along the monsoon trough in July – August. It triggered a large bloom of the schl concentration from the upwelling region of southern tip Sumatra. Moreover, the schl in the center region followed the peak of the equatorial wind during the period transition in the Indian Ocean which is controlling the dynamics ocean such as upwelling event. Meanwhile, the opposite situation of the schl concentration observed low along the western coast of Sumatra during the northwest monsoon. At the same time, strong upwelling observed at the northern tip of Sumatra was associated with intense cooling on the sea surface temperature. It triggered a large bloom of high schl water from the upwelling region of northern Sumatra Island.
