    Opis:
    Safety plays a crucial role in construction projects. Safety risks encompass potential hazards such as work accidents, injuries, and security. Consequently, it is important to effectively manage these risks with equal emphasis on time and cost considerations during the project planning phase. Within the scope of this research, the grid and archive-based Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO) algorithm was employed to investigate multi-objective time-cost-risk problems. By employing the GWO, multiple Pareto solutions were provided to the decisionmaker, facilitating improved decision-making. It was determined that the GWO algorithm yields better results in time-cost-risk problems compared to the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Differential Evolution (DE) algorithms.

    In the last thirty years, change became a part of life in all the areas. All those developments and globalisation affect the markets and have caused radical changes in employees’ relationships. One of the most obvious examples of this change is the shiftin the understanding of labour management. The competitive business world, sustainable competitive advantage is the basic factor for reaching organisational strategies. On the present day, firm’s success broadly depends on the capabilities of its employees. Companies may have capital and technology, but it is the HRM that will help companies face the challenges of globalisation of business. Human resources practices appear to have a vital importance to the success of organisational performance.
    W ostatnich trzydziestu latach zmiany stały się częścią życia we wszystkich obszarach. Wszystkie te przemiany i globalizacja wpływają na rynki i spowodowały radykalne zmiany w relacjach między pracownikami. Jednym z najbardziej oczywistych przykładów jest zmiana w rozumieniu zarządzania zasobami pracy. Konkurencyjny świat biznesu, zrównoważona przewaga konkurencyjna jest podstawowym czynnikiem strategii organizacyjnych. Obecnie powodzenie firmy w dużej mierze zależy od potencjału jej pracowników. Firmy mogą posiadać kapitał i technologię, ale tozarządzanie zasobami ludzkimi jest tym, co pomoże firmom sprostać wyzwaniom globalizacji biznesu. Postępowanie z zasobami ludzkimi jawi się jako to, co ma żywotne znaczenie dla powodzenia działania organizacyjnego.

    Opis:
    Risk scoring methods applied in risk assessments used in Turkey, differ from each other in terms of analysis methods, scoring the risks, presumption and sensitivity levels. This article aims to eliminate the effects of divergent results of different risk analyses of lifting equipments used in the building industry and develop a practical hybrid risk analysis and ranking method. In this study risks of lifting equipments used in the building industry were scored by conventional Fine-Kenney risk analysis method first. Secondly, with the experience of previous accidents on construction sites, the reasons of accidents were sorted into 7 main criteria, which being ‘Demographic’, ‘Behavioral’, ‘Machine Related’, ‘Working Environment Related’, ‘Economical’, ‘Administrative’ and ‘Organizational’ criteria and related sub-criteria. Developing these criteria was supported by the experience of inspections carried out by labour inspectors. The weighted scores of these criteria were calculated by AHP method using a questionnaire applied to 14 experienced labor inspectors. The weighted scores obtained by the analytical hierarchy process method (AHP) were multiplied by the scores obtained by Fine-Kinney risk assessment method and a new integrated risk assessment and ranking application was introduced. With this application, a different priority rank was created and which risk to be eliminated primarily was determined.     Recently developed the agility and skill tests (AS) were reevaluated to assess the children’s agility together with the soccer shoots to ball for goal. Children (male) soccer players (N=68) (age= 11.6 ± 0.5 yrs; height=147 ± 6.6 cm; weight= 35.5 ± 5.6kg) participated in this study. Test – Retest and comparisons, including 20m Sprint, Long Jump, T- Drill Test, AS (with ball), AS (goal success) and Zigzag Tests were used to assess the children’s sprinting, jump power, and agility with shooting ball. All handled test results showed that there were significant differences between the tests - retest sessions (p < 0.01) except for the 20 m Sprint. There were a near perfect correlations between test and retest values (r=0.90-0.99). A higher level of correlation between the AS tests (goal success, with ball) (r=0.99) was found. There were very high levels of correlations between the AS (goal success and with ball) tests and Zigzag tests (r=0.71, r=0.70 respectively). These results suggest that the AS tests are reliable and valid agility and skill tests for children players. Because the AS tests have unique values and are composed of soccer specific agility and active shooting skills, they are very important in identifying the talent and ability of children.

    The Metropolitan Municipality of Izmir (Turkey) designated a steeply inclined area for the construction of buildings to house the participants of the Izmir University Olympic Games. Before the construction activities could start, engineering geological and geotechnical investigations had to be carried out in order to establish which zones in the area were suitable for safe constructions. Seismic studies, borings and laboratory tests yielded the data, which were used for preparing five hazard maps in a GIS environment. The construction activities based on the results of this complex investigation appeared successful. The engineering geological investigations included geotechnical measurements on core samples obtained from the boreholes (core drilling) and laboratory testing. The rock-quality designation (RQD%) values of the rock units were determined and used in the rock-mass classification (rock-mass rating method) as an in-put parameter and in the calculation of the bearing capacity of the various rock units. Geophysical surveys were carried out to determine the seismic velocity of the rocks at the site. A short overview is provided of the main problems that had to be dealt with, and of the successive steps taken to solve the engineering-geological problems. Determination of these problems is necessary for adequate land-use planning and construction activities.
