Opis:
This study involves the implementation of an economic order quantity (EOQ) model which is an inventory control method in a ceramic factory. Two different methods were applied for the calculation of EOQs. The first method is to determine EOQ values using a response surface method-based approach (RSM). The second method uses conventional EOQ calculations. To produce a ceramic product, 281 different and additive materials may be used. First, Pareto (ABC) analysis was performed to determine which of the materials have higher priority. Because of this analysis, the value of 21 items among 281 different materials and additives were compared to the ratio of the total product. The ratio was found to be 70.4% so calculations were made for 21 items. Usage value for every single item for the years 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014, respectively, were obtained from the company records. Eight different demand forecasting methods were applied to find the amount of the demand in EOQ. As a result of forecasting, the EOQ of the items were calculated by establishing a model. Also, EOQ and RSM calculations for the items were made and both calculation results were compared to each other. Considering the obtained results, it is understood that RSM can be used in EOQ calculations rather than the conventional EOQ model. Also, there are big differences between the EOQ values which were implemented by the company and the values calculated. Because of this work, the RSM-based EOQ approach can be used to decide on the EOQ calculations as a way of improving the system performance.

Opis:
The aim of the present study was to assess metabolic changes occurring in Holstein cows with left or right abomasal displacement. Total sialic acid (TSA) values of the left abomasal displacement (LDA) group were elevated significantly (p<0.0001) as compared to the controls. In the LDA group, serum ceruloplasmin (CPN) and aspartate transaminase (AST) levels were increased significantly (p<0.0001) as well. Compared to the control group, serum glutathione (GSH) level was decreased significantly in both LDA and right abomasal displacement (RDA) groups (p<0.0001). Among the clinical examination parameters, rumen contraction rates were decreased in both LDA and RDA groups significantly (p<0.0001). These results suggest that inflammatory and oxidative parameters might have taken part in the pathogenesis of abomasal displacement. In this regard, anti-cytokine and anti-oxidant therapies developed in human medicine may also play a potential therapeutic role in the fatty liver and abomasal displacement in cattle.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to investigate the cardiotoxic effect of the combination of tilmicosin and diclofenac sodium in sheep. Thirty-two sheep were used and were randomly divided into four equal groups as tilmicosin (T), diclofenac sodium (D), tilmicosin+diclofenac sodium (TD) and control (C) group. Group T received a single dose of tilmicosin, Group D was administered diclofenac sodium once a day for 3 days, and group TD was administered diclofenac and tilmicosin at the same doses as group T and D. Group C received NaCl in a similar way. The blood samples were taken before dosing and at 4th, 8th, 24th and 72nd hour post-dosing for measurement of cardiac markers such as H-FABP, cTn-I, CK-MB. H-FABP level of group TD was found to be significantly (p<0.05) higher than of group C at the 8th, 24th and 72nd hour and group D and T at the 72nd hour. cTn-I and CK-MB levels of group TD were found significantly (p<0.05) higher compared with other groups. In conclusion, the combined use of tilmicosin and diclofenac in sheep causes an increase in cardiac biomarkers and it can be stated that this combination of drugs may cause cardiac damage.

Opis:
Self amplified stimulated emission free electron laser production from electron energy above 1.5 GeV is studied to obtain 1-100 nm laser wavelength. Design simulations of linear accelerating system with gun and enjector system has been done in more detail by considering space charge effect for electron beam. Electromagnetic field for superconducting cavities, solenoid fields, cavity defects such as Higher Order Modes, Multipacting, Lorentz Force Detuning, and beam behaviour along the beamline are very important details for this study. Optimised cavity cell design layout are provided in order to obtain quality factor $10^9$ for designed cavities throughout the main linear acceleration. To determine coupling factor, and zero modes and also other modes with relative errors are searched.
