Opis:
Energetic salts as a unique class of energetic materials have recently been investigated widely, since they possess advantages over their atomically similar nonionic analogues – they tend to exhibit lower vapor pressures, higher densities and better thermal stabilities. Furthermore, these salts are readily improved upon by the appropriate combination of different cations and anions. Over the last twenty years, our group has continued to synthesize and study novel ionic energetic materials. Here, we have summarized all of the series of nitrogen-rich energetic salts. This review gives an overview of the various studies dealing with synthetic aspects and some of the physicochemical properties of ionic compounds that are based on ammonia, guanidine, semicarbazide, carbohydrazide, tetrazine, tetrazole, triazole and imidazole. In addition, their potential applications in the fields of explosives and propellants are discussed. We hope these investigations will be helpful in providing a wider insight for future research in the area of energetic salts.

Opis:
Our objective was to identify combinations of irrigation and fertiliser application that promoted the photosynthetic productivity and water use efficiency (WUE) of Catalpa bungei. Using response surface methodology based on a rotatable central composite design, we conducted a pot experiment with C. bungei clone 004-1 seedlings. The experiment quantified the effects of interactions between soil water content (W), nitrogen application rate (N), and phosphorus application rate (P) on leaf net photosynthetic rates (Pn), SPAD values (SPAD-502 meter readings of leaf chlorophyll), and carbon isotope composition (δ13C). N had significantly positive effects on the all three leaf parameters, while W had significantly negative effects on leaf δ13C signatures but positive effects on leaf Pn and SPAD values. The magnitude of the N effect exceeded that of the W effect. P had no significant effects on any of the three leaf parameters. The W × N interaction had significant positive effects on Pn and SPAD, but significant negative effects on leaf δ13C. Thus, irrigation and nitrogen application had different effects on seedling growth and WUE, and the two effects were interactive. Catalpa bungei growth was promoted by appropriately increasing nitrogen application and irrigation, but WUE was improved by increasing N and decreasing irrigation. Therefore, strategies for the irrigation and fertilisation of C. bungei plantations should be designed to appropriately balance plant growth and WUE.

Aiming at the deformation characteristics and the support problem of deep high stress broken-expand surrounding rock, the secondary support of the deep roadway engineering of Fenglong coal mine in Jiangxi Province, China, is carried out to optimize the parameters. First of all, according to the characteristics of deep roadway deformation in Fenglong coal mine, the specific support scheme was put forward on the basis of the original support, then, the secondary support parameters and the support time are designed. The softening strength parameters of the surrounding rock in the roadway are obtained by using the piecewise linear strain softening model and the dilatancy angle of the rock mass. Considering the strength effect of cable anchor, the calculation equation and support strength index ID concept of anchor cable are put forward, and the corrected calculation parameters of anchorage effect are given. Then, the numerical calculation is carried out for 16 schemes, meanwhile, the optimal scheme of the comprehensive evaluation index Es of roadway engineering stability is adopted. The influence of different anchoring effect on the stability of roadway and different secondary displacement value on the stability of roadway are analyzed respectively. Finally, the optimized support scheme is used to carry out the engineering practice, the results of monitoring the deformation of roadway by cross method show that the deformation value is within the controllable range, which can better control the roadway deformation.

Mechanical drying significantly affects the mechanical properties of corn kernels. Improper drying may result in material losses and in a decline in quality due to pressure, collisions, and other factors during subsequent storage and transport operations. A literature survey revealed that at time of writing the characteristics of dried corn kernels have not been systematically and fully studied. In this paper, an orthogonal rotation combination test scheme was designed. Using a multiparameter controllable thin layer drying test bench, corn was dried under different conditions (temperature 30-60°C, relative humidity 30-60%, air velocity 0.46-0.94 m s–1, initial moisture content of corn of 20-30% w.b., tempering ratio 0-3). Then, a texture analyser was used to measure the mechanical properties (rupture force, rupture energy, modulus of elasticity and brittleness) of the dried corn kernels. Relationship models were established for the rupture force, rupture energy, modulus of elasticity and brittleness and drying conditions of corn kernels. An increase in the drying temperature from 30 to 60°C increased the rupture energy, elastic modulus, and brittleness of the corn kernels by 19.11, 11.76, and 4.02%, respectively; an increase in the drying relative humidity from 30 to 60% increased the rupture force, energy, modulus of elasticity and brittleness by 15.07, 13.74, 20.73, and 3.31%, respectively.

In this article, an inverted pendulum system is set up to explore the dynamics of a horizontally driven pendulum which exhibits a great variety of dynamical behavior and appears in a wide range of applications in the field of engineering. The facility is efficient to experimentally explore two kinds of coexisting movement patterns in the horizontally driven pendulum, i.e. in-phase and anti-phase patterns between the angular velocity of the pendulum rod and the direction of the driving forces. Theoretical analysis is applied to reveal the regimes of the coexistence of the two movement patterns, which is promising to control the system to a desired pattern.

Due to the great danger of the collision of oil tankers, lots of research on the collision of oil tankers has been carried out. But, at present, the research on the collision of oil tankers mainly focuses on the loading condition of the struck ship, ignores the impact on the loading condition of the striking ship. However, during the actual oil tanker collision, the striking ship is generally in the state of loading. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out the analysis of the impact of the loading condition of the striking ship on the collision damage of the oil tanker. In this paper, the effect of striking ship with loading on the impact performance of the side structure during the collision of the cargo double hull oil tanker has been investigated. The ship collision model was established by using the finite element software ANSYS/ LS-DYNA which is based on 7000 tons of double hull oil tankers. Based on the analysis of the collision force, impact of striking speed changes, impact of striking deep changes and structural energy absorption during the collision process, the influence of the striking ship with loading on the damage mechanism and the impact performance of the double shell oil ship side structure was expounded. The results show that the influence of the striking ship with loading can be great to the damage to side hull during the research of the collision performance of the oil tanker.

The impact of the bleed off-take cavity within aspirated blades on the aerodynamic perfor- mance of a highly loaded compressor cascade was explored. Three-dimensional Navier-Stokes simulations were conducted in rectangular compressor cascades after validation against expe- rimental results were done. Five different off-take configurations with varying suction loca- tion were numerically evaluated. The results show that the regularities of the suction flow distribution on the suction slot inlet greatly influence the benefits of boundary layer suction. The distribution style greatly depends not only on the flow condition of the blade passage, but also on the realization of the suction process and the geometry of the cavity inside the aspirated blade. The low kinetic fluid in the endwall region compared with that around the midspan is usually prone to be sucked into the suction slot. The distribution of the suc- tion mass flow along the spanwise direction would be symmetrical if the suction position is properly selected and the inside off-take cavity is well designed, even though the bleeding system has been simplified to be asymmetrical as employed in the present document.

ZnO/ZnSe coaxial nanowires with different ZnO core diameters were synthesized by using a two-step chemical vapor deposition. The scanning electron microscopy images demonstrated that the coaxial nanowires with small ZnO core diameter had the smoother surface than that with large ZnO core diameter. A coherent ZnSe layer with wurtzite structure was observed in the nanowire interface between the ZnO core and the ZnSe shell by high resolution transmission electron microscopy. This coherent layer is beneficial to reduce the defect density and improve the crystal quality by suppressing the phase transition. It was found that the coherent thickness was significantly related to the ZnO core diameter. For the nanowire with large ZnO core, a thin critical thickness of 2 - 3 nm was obtained. As a result, a layer of zinc blende ZnSe appeared outside the nanowire, and a lot of defects existed in the interface between the ZnSe layers with different phase structures. For the nanowire with small ZnO core, however, the critical thickness increased and a coherent coaxial structure was observed with the same lattice spacing in the ZnO core and the ZnSe shell. To obtain defect-free coaxial nanowire, an optimal structure was also proposed by theoretical calculation.

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs), formed by computers embedded in vehicles and the traffic infrastructure, are expected to develop in the near future to improve traffic safety and efficiency. To this end, VANETs should be designed to be resistant against various abuses and attacks. In this paper, we first review the existing proposals to provide security, privacy, and data aggregation in vehicle-to-vehicle communication. We then address the fundamental issue of achieving these conflicting properties in a unified solution, having observed that separate efforts cannot fulfill the VANET design objectives. A set of new mechanisms are suggested for efficiently managing identities and securely compressing cryptographic witnesses, which are among the major obstacles to the deployment of strong security mechanisms in VANETs. Finally, we employ the standard threshold cryptographic technology to improve the basic protocol with robustness.

Opis:
The low-frequency mechanical spectra of lanthanum cobaltite based mixed conducting oxides have been measured using a computer-controlled inverted torsion pendulum. The results indicate that the internal friction spectra and shear modulus depend on the Sr doping contents (x). For undoped samples, no internal friction peak is observed. However, for La0.8Sr0.2CoO3-δ, three internal friction peaks (P2, P3 and P4) are observed. In addition to these peaks, two more peaks (P0 and P1) are observed in La0.6Sr0.4CoO3‒δ. The P0 and P1 peaks show characteristics of a phase transition, while the P2, P3 and P4 peaks are of relaxation-type. Our analysis suggests that the P0 peak is due to a phase separation and the P1 peak is related to the ferromagnetic–paramagnetic phase transition. The P2, P3 and P4 peaks are associated with the motion of domain walls. The formation of this kind of domain structure is a consequence of a transformation from the paraelastic cubic phase to the ferroelastic rhombohedral phase. With partial substitution of Fe for Co, only one peak is observed, which is discussed as a result of different microstructure.

Opis:
The adsorbent of bone char (BC), produced from the pyrolysis of crushed animal bones, was dominated by the mesopores of the Brunauer Emmett Teller (BET) surface area. The optimal condition for defluoridation with BC was a pH level near 5.0. Chloride and nitrate ions could increase fluoride adsorption capacity in contrast with the effect of sulfate and carbonate ions. The interchangeability between fluoride and hydroxyl groups on BC sorbent was proved by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Langmuir equation had a better correlation coefficient than the Freundlich equation at various temperatures. Thermodynamic parameters such as Delta G degrees, Delta H degrees, Delta S degrees, Ea and S*, have been calculated to describe the nature of fluoride adsorption onto BC. Negative Delta G degrees and Delta H degrees values at various temperatures indicate a spontaneous process, and its exothermic effect, respectively. However, a positive Delta S degrees value represents an increasing process for entropy. The E-a and S* values ranging from 5 to 40 kj.mol-1 and 0 to 1, respectively, demonstrated that the adsorption is dominated by physical process, although the adsorption kinetic process was involved external diffusion, intraparticle diffusion and chemical reaction equilibrium stage. A high concentration of NaOH solution increases efficiency of removing adsorbed F- ions from the BC surface.

Microtoid cricetids are widely considered to be the ancestral form of arvicoline rodents, a successful rodent group includ− ing voles, lemmings and muskrats. The oldest previously known microtoid cricetid is Microtocricetus molassicus from the Late Miocene (MN9, ca. 10–11 Ma) of Europe. Here, we report a new microtoid cricetid, Primoprismus fejfari gen. et sp. nov., from the Junggar Basin of Xinjiang, northwestern China. The rodent assemblage found in association with this specimen indicates a late Early Miocene age, roughly estimated at 18–17 Ma, and thus more than 6 million years older than M. molassicus. While morphological comparisons suggest that the new taxon is most closely related to M. molas− sicus, it differs from the latter in a striking combination of primitive characters, including a lower crown, smaller size, a differentiated posterolophid and hypolophid, a faint anterolophid, the absence of an ectolophid, and the presence of a stylid on the labial border of the tooth. Arid conditions prevailing across the mid−latitude interior of Eurasia during the Early Miocene, enhanced by the combined effects of the Tibetan uplift and the gradual retreat of the Tethys Ocean, likely played a role in the appearance of grasslands, which in turn triggered the evolution of microtoid cricetids and, ultimately, the origin of arvicoline rodents.

Cadmium (Cd) stress significantly affects plant growth and development. Potentilla sericea is typically grown in gardens or as ground cover. In this study, the Cd response of P. sericea was analyzed based on physiological examinations and transcriptome analyses that uncovered the gene expression changes in P. sericea roots induced by a 7-day treatment with 90 μmol/L Cd2+. A total of 53,225 unigenes were identified, including 11,684 differentially expressed genes (DEGs; 8,083 upregulated and 3,601 downregulated). Additionally, 44 gene ontology terms and 127 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways were significantly enriched among these DEGs. Genes related to glutathione metabolism, plant hormone signal transduction, peroxisome processes, sulfur metabolism, and flavonoid biosynthesis pathways were confirmed as relevant to the Cd response of P. sericea. The molecular biology-related data described here may be useful for the future breeding of transgenic P. sericea plants with increased resistance to heavy metal stresses.
