Opis:
The impact of the bleed off-take cavity within aspirated blades on the aerodynamic perfor- mance of a highly loaded compressor cascade was explored. Three-dimensional Navier-Stokes simulations were conducted in rectangular compressor cascades after validation against expe- rimental results were done. Five different off-take configurations with varying suction loca- tion were numerically evaluated. The results show that the regularities of the suction flow distribution on the suction slot inlet greatly influence the benefits of boundary layer suction. The distribution style greatly depends not only on the flow condition of the blade passage, but also on the realization of the suction process and the geometry of the cavity inside the aspirated blade. The low kinetic fluid in the endwall region compared with that around the midspan is usually prone to be sucked into the suction slot. The distribution of the suc- tion mass flow along the spanwise direction would be symmetrical if the suction position is properly selected and the inside off-take cavity is well designed, even though the bleeding system has been simplified to be asymmetrical as employed in the present document.

We consider the problem of designing a feedback control law in order to reject the unknown bounded disturbance and achieve tracking of reference inputs in control systems described by a class of nonlinear time-delay differential-algebraic equations. Based on the input-output feedback linearization technique and Lya-pimov method for nonlinear state feedback synthesis, a robust globally asymptotical output tracking controller design methodology for nonlinear time-delay control systems with delays on the states and the input is developed. The underlying theoretical approaches are the differential geometry approach and the composite Lyapunov approach. For the view of practical application, the proposed control methodology has been successfully applied to the famous nonlinear automobile idle-speed control system problem.

Opis:
The problem of small-signal stability considering load uncertainty in power system is investigated. Firstly, this paper shows attempts to create a nonlinear optimization model for solving the upper and lower limits of the oscillation mode’s damping ratio under an interval load. Then, the effective successive linear programming (SLP) method is proposed to solve this problem. By using this method, the interval damping ratio and corresponding load states at its interval limits are obtained. Calculation results can be used to evaluate the influence of load variation on a certain mode and give useful information for improvement. Finally, the proposed method is validated on two test systems.

Opis:
The purpose objective of this study was to investigate the influence of finite element meshing accuracy on modal analysis which is one of the basic factors affecting the accuracy of finite element analysis and mostly preoccupies the working staff in pre-processing finite element simulation models. In this paper, we established several finite element models of a welding machine for offshore platform, with the meshing accuracy as the variable and workbench software as the platform for modal analysis, as the same time, comparing the analysis results. The results indicated that for some specific structures and simulation types, mesh refinement alone does not achieve desired results, and the authors indicate that mesh refinement is rarely related to the equipment’s low-frequency modal analysis but it’s great related to the equipment’s high-frequency modal analysis. The findings of this study may serve as breaking the opinion that smaller mesh size means higher calculation precision and provides references for mesh division practices in low frequency modal analysis.

The interfacial particle velocities for CL-20 and CL-20-based aluminized mixed explosives were measured by interferometry in order to analyze the aluminum reactions in the latter. The reaction characteristics were obtained, as well as a better understanding of the effects of aluminum powder on the detonation reaction zone length. Two functions were used to fit the particle velocity-time profiles, and their intersection was the corresponding Chapman-Jouget (CJ) point. From these profiles, the detonation reaction zone length and the aluminum reaction were then analyzed. CL-20-based explosives have a short reaction time (48 ns for a high CL-20 content), while the reaction time of CL-20/Al explosives increased with the aluminum content and particle size. Micron-scale aluminum particles barely reacted in the CL-20 detonation reaction zone, but instead reacted with the detonation products after the CJ point. This reduced the detonation pressure; however, the aluminum reaction can slow down the decrease in particle velocities. The start times of small-particle aluminum reactions were earlier than those of the larger particles. The 2-3-μm aluminum particles start to react within 1 μs after the CJ point, while the 200-nm particles may start to react in the reaction zone.

With 3,4-dinitrofurazanofuroxan (DNTF) and glycidyl azide polymer (GAP) as the main explosive and binder respectively, GAP/DNTF based PBX explosives were designed, prepared and used to fill the small groove of some explosive circuits. The formulation was: DNTF 85 wt.%, GAP 11 wt.%, 2,4-toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and other additives making up the final 4 wt.%. After the uncured slurry mixture was prepared by uniform mixing, a squeezing device was used to charge the circuit groove (dimensions less than 1 mm × 1 mm). Scanning electron microscope (SEM) results showed a fine charging effect. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) was used to determine the energy of activation (Ea) and the pre-factor (A) of GAP/DNTF and these were compared with those for raw DNTF. The influences and causes of it have been investigated. The experimental results for propagation reliability showed that when the dimensions of the linear groove were 0.8 mm × 0.8 mm, 0.7 mm × 0.7 mm, 0.6 mm × 0.6 mm or 0.5 mm × 0.5 mm, GAP/DNTF based PBX explosives can propagate explosion successfully. Furthermore, the H50 and friction sensitivity of GAP/DNTF based PBX explosives were obtained using the following mechanical sensitivity experiments. These properties are vital if GAP/DNTF based PBX explosives are to be applied in complex explosive circuits.

Opis:
Simultaneous state and parameter estimation based actuator fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) for single-rotor unmanned helicopters (UHs) is investigated in this paper. A literature review of actuator FDD for UHs is given firstly. Based on actuator healthy coefficients (AHCs), which are introduced to represent actuator faults, a combined dynamic model is established with the augmented state containing both the flight state and AHCs. Then the actuator fault detection and diagnosis problem is transformed into a general nonlinear estimation one: given control inputs and the measured flight state contaminated by measurement noises, estimate both the flight state and AHCs recursively in each time-step, which is also known as the simultaneous state and parameter estimation problem. The estimated AHCs can further be used for fault tolerant control (FTC). Based on the existing widely used nonlinear estimation methods such as the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) and the extended set-membership filter (ESMF), three kinds of adaptive schemes (KF-UKF, MIT-UKF and MIT-ESMF) are proposed by our team to improve the actuator FDD performance. A comprehensive comparative study on these different estimation methods is given in detail to illustrate their advantages and disadvantages when applied to unmanned helicopter actuator FDD.

Opis:
Collisions and groundings account for more than 80% among all types of maritime accidents, and risk assessment is an essential step in the formal safety assessment. This paper proposes a method based on fuzzy fault tree analysis and Noisy-OR gate Bayesian network for navigational risk assessment. First, a fault tree model was established with historical data, and the probability of basic events is calculated using fuzzy sets. Then, the Noisy-OR gate is utilized to determine the conditional probability of related nodes and obtain the probability distribution of the consequences in the Bayesian network. Finally, this proposed method is applied to Qinzhou Port. From sensitivity analysis, several predominant influencing factors are identified, including navigational area, ship type and time of the day. The results indicate that the consequence is sensitive to the position where the accidents occurred. Consequently, this paper provides a practical and reasonable method for risk assessment for navigational accidents.

In this study, comparative experiments were conducted on the recovery of quartz using flotation with different fluid inclusion abundances. A large number of fluid inclusions with various sizes have been found in natural quartz. Micrographs, inductively coupled plasma, electron probe microanalysis, homogenization temperature, Raman spectra, zeta potentials, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope, and energy dispersive spectrometer were used to characterize the fluid inclusions and quartz, as well as the adsorption tests and single mineral flotation experiments to investigate its floatability. The results demonstrated that it was more likely for quartz with higher fluid inclusion abundance to connect with Fe3+ sufficiently to achieve a high level of flotation recovery, due to the powerful collecting ability by sodium dodecyl sulphonate to Fe3+. Furthermore, the mechanism indicated that the adsorption between quartz and Fe3+ was a process of chemisorption.

3,3’-Diamino-4,4’-azoxyfurazan (DAAF) is the principal component of an insensitive booster explosive; refined DAAF and DAAF surface-coated with Viton A were prepared. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were employed to characterize the morphology, composition, and thermal decomposition of these samples. The impact sensitivity and theoretical detonation velocity of DAAF-based composites were also measured and analyzed. The results showed that DAAF surface-coated with Viton A was successfully obtained, and the impact sensitivity of DAAF/Viton A composites was much lower than that of crude DAAF. In addition, DAAF/Viton A composites exhibited better thermal stability compared to crude DAAF and refined DAAF. The theoretical detonation velocity of DAAF/Viton A composites and TATB/Viton A composites are roughly the same. Therefore, there is still great potential for DAAF to be used as the main explosive component of a booster explosive.

We report the synthesis of PbF2:Er3+ particles using a hydrothermal method. The structure and upconversion emission properties of the products are investigated by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometer, Raman spectrophotometer and fluorescence spectrometry. An increase in Er3+ concentration in the crystals changes the PbF2 structure from a mixed phase to a cubic phase and decreases the grain size to nanoscale levels. Enhanced upconversion efficiency is achieved after annealing resulted from the formation of the cubic phase and the increase of grain size. The optimal Er3+ concentration is found to be 4% after annealing, and applied to the back of a bifacial silicon solar cell, maximum external quantum efficiencies of 0.38% and 0.79% are respectively obtained under 0.77 W/cm2 laser excitation (1560 nm) and AM1.5 + laser co-excitation.

Opis:
The major reasons that cause the damage of damper bars in the leeward side are found in this paper. It provides a route for the structure optimization design of a hydro generator. Firstly, capacity of a 24 MW bulb tubular turbine generator is taken as an example in this paper. The transient electromagnetic field model is established, and the correctness of the model is verified by the comparison of experimental results and simulation data. Secondly, when the generator is operated at rated condition, the eddy current density distributions of damper bars are studied. And the asymmetric phenomenon of the eddy current density on damper bars is discovered. The change laws of the eddy currents in damper bars are determined through further analysis. Thirdly, through the study of eddy current distributions under different conditions, it is confirmed that the stator slots and armature reaction are the main factors to affect the asymmetric distribution of the eddy current in damper bars. Finally, the studies of the magnetic density distribution and theoretical analysis revealed the asymmetric distribution mechanism of eddy current density.
