Opis:: An attempt to control invasive disea:ses in rural environment, carried out in Miechów region in 1961-1963, as well as a number of investigations of the Institut for the Occupational Medicine and Rural Hygiene, concerned with the distribution of intestinal parasites in rural population, warrant a conclusion about the efficiency of mass campaign against some parasitic invasions of the alimentary tract. The obtained therapeutic results can be maintained by hygienic measures including sanitary education, cleanliness competitions and sanitary installations which prevent from auto- and reinvasion of intestinal parasite. The paper contains detailed conclusions about prophylaxis, diagnosis and treatment of invasive diseases.

Opis:: Rural children from Lublin regions were found to harbour: Trichuris trichiura in 52.5%, Enterobius vermicularis in 44.2%, Ascaris lumbricoides in 28.7% and Lamblia intestinalis in 1.1% of cases. The statistical analysis revealed a higher infection rate in boys (50.2%) than in girls (43.7%). Statistical evaluation was also concerned with the mutual correlation in the incidence of individual parasites.
