    The article undertakes to interpret two poetical pieces by Mikołaj Sęp Szarzyński: Pieśń o Frydruszu and Epitaphium Boleslao Audaci, Regi Poloniae, while including considerations contained in Czesław Hernas’s Barok (along with the scholar’s other synthesis, Literatura baroku). The said texts are interpreted in the context of epic tradition and those traditions that relate to Bolesław Śmiały (Szczodry; king of Poland, Bolesław II the Bold or the Generous) and also to the impact of Boethius’s thought. Another issue analysed by the author is the method of comparing Sęp Szarzyński’s works in the both mentioned syntheses by Hernas.

    The subject-matter of the work is letters and epilogues in Gesta by the so called Gallus Anonymus, especially topics they present. The author builds a multi-coloured series of topics on the basis of his own cultural awareness with very blurred references to social realities. Thus, the most important role is given to those places in Gesta which overcome or do not respect conventions and relatively change attitude towards them. A discussion on Gallus Anonymus intensified in the last decade, loses a lot without being re-recognised generally speaking, the sphere of literary conventions or topics. The main obstacle in clear-cut and reliable findings concerning intended and factual reception of Gesta can be noticed in conventions used that were often treated by interpreters as a social reality while all statements formulated by Gall cannot be literally treated.
    L’objet de l’étude sont les lettres et les épilogues dans les Gestes de Gallus Anonymus, et en particulier le topos y présent. L’auteur construit un ensemble pittoresque de topos à la base de sa propre auto-conscience culturelle, avec des références très vagues aux réalités sociales. L’importance première appartient donc à ces lieux dans les Gestes, qui transgressent ou ne respectent pas la convention, ou bien qui changent l’opinion à leur égard. La discussion animée de la dernière décennie sur Gallus perd beaucoup sans une étude nouvelle, d’une manière générale, des conventions littéraires ou le topos. Le premier obstacle dans les constatations univoques et sûres concernant la reception intentionnelle et réelle des Gestes se situe dans les conventions utilisées, qui ont été traitées par les chercheurs comme une évidence sociale, pendant que les formules de Gallus ne peuvent pas être traitées littéralement.

    The author, referring to the presence of Boethius’ thought (The Consolation of Philosophy – De consolatione philosophiae) in the poetry of Mikołaj Sęp Szarzyński (c. 1550–c. 1581), indicates the presence of the “Model of the Universe” (Clive S. Lewis), Aristotelian vision of the cosmos (Edward Grant) in his work, consistently omitted in Czesław Hernas’ academic textbooks Barok, earlier in the book of Jan Błoński. This non-inclusion leads to misleading interpretations, especially in the context of the theological dimension of this poetry. This sort of literary criticism led to the controversial status of the poet in the history of ancient Polish literature. Sęp Szarzyński took up the tradition of using the Model, even pagan, in the interest of religious content, his faith. The model based on Aristotle’s doctrine brings religious certainty. In fact it strengthens it, but does not weaken faith.
    Autor, nawiązując do obecności myśli Boecjusza („O pocieszeniu, jakie daje filozofia”) w poezji Sępa-Szarzyńskiego (ok. 1550–ok 1581), wskazuje na obecność Modelu (C.S. Lewis), arystotelesowskiej wizji kosmosu (E. Grant) w jego twórczości, konsekwentnie pomijanego w podręczniki akademickim Czesława Hernasa, wcześniej zaś w książce Jana Błońskiego. Nieobecność ta prowadzi do mylących interpretacji, zwłaszcza w kontekście teologicznego wymiaru tej poezji. Prowadziła także do kontrowersyjnego statusu poety w historii dawnej literatury polskiej. Sęp podejmuje tradycję korzystania z wyobrażeń Modelu, jeszcze pogańskich, w interesie treści religijnych, swej wiary. Model oparty na doktrynie Arystotelesa przynosi pewność, wzmacnia, nie osłabia wiarę.

    The paper deals with the relations between poetic language (especially obscenity and scatology) and the social milieu of the recipients of the bourgeois poetry. The humour and the comic are precisely the basic sphere where representations of human sexuality occur. In this context, a distinct reduction o f the comic fields connected to sexuality in the 16th and 17th centuries is vital. Literature is one more testimony of the increasing division into the “sophisticated” and “vulgar” (both in regard to subjective reference as well as to the language used here). “The Civilizing Process” (N. Elias) expressed the elite’s urge to separate from the masses on the level o f custom and language. Further on, the “carnival” language admired for its specific “vitality” (a “popular” spirit is often attributed to it) becomes marginalized - the 18th century classicism is here the crowning of this process. On the other hand, one should be aware that the “subversive” use of the language code is inscribed in the registers o f the early culture. In this period, the “serious” culture of the elites still combined the texts that expressed for instance certain principles of courtly love with their opposites, that can be called burlesque, grotesque or with less justification, realistic. This rule is reflected by collections of bourgeois poetry, including such texts. Not only values o f knightly (or noble) code, “high erotica”, expressed in the official literature, should be included in this “high culture”, but also elements which are their parodies and opposites that sound low and not high. If those texts - mistakenly perceived as “popular” - are being called “camivalesque”, this is only by virtue o f an attempt at positive valorisation o f texts with a predominantly obscene character.

    Das zentrale Anliegen der vorliegenden Abhandlung “O Michale Bachtinie, ludowej kulturze śmiechu i ...” beruht darauf, Bachtin’s Theorie auf ihre methodische Stichhaltigkeit zu überprüfen, um bestimmte Probleme, die daraus resultieren, zutage treten lassen.Bachtin’s Konzeption liegt die Dichotomie zwischen der opressiven feudalen Kultur, die von Kirche und Staat repräsentiert wurde, und der Lachkultur, die als die eigentliche Volkskultur verstanden wurde, zugrunde. Die mittelalterliche wie auch die neuzeitliche Wechselwirkung zwischen - soziologisch gesehen - niederen und höheren Gesellschaftsschichten und Kulturen stellt Bachtin’s Grundannahme in Frage. Abgesehen davon ist “Lachkultur” mit “Volkskultur” schwer identifizierbar. In der Weltanschauung des “Volkes” - Bachtin’s Verstehen bleibt undifferenzierbar und von ihm nicht näher verdeutlicht - findet man kollektive Furcht und Phobien jeglicher Art. Ein Panorama des Schreckens wird in Jean Delumeau‘s Werken in ihrer Nähe aufgedeckt, das mit dem von Bachtin Dargelegten nicht in Einklang zu bringen ist. Die Dichotomie lässt sich mit dem Gesamtzustand der sowjetischen Humanistik besonders in der Stalinära in Zusammenhang bringen (Aron Gurjewitsch). Daher ist sowohl das Prinzip des Klassenkampfes als auch das der wechselseitigen Feindseligkeit, die beide zu den entsprechenden ideologischen Theoremen gehören, in Bachtins Werk vorzufinden. Gemäß Dietz.-Rüdiger Moser ist es erwiesen, dass Bachtins Verständnis von “Karneval” und “Lachkultur” falsch ist. Zu guter Letzt sollte nicht unerwähnt bleiben, dass hier eine unkritische Verwendung der Begriffe eine große Rolle spielt. Der Bachtin’s Karneval ist nicht in die christliche Liturgie eingebunden, sondern bedeutet eine Lebenshaltung. So kommt es z. B. in Bachtins Verständnis vom Karneval zur absoluten Spontaneität des “Volkes”. Ganz im Gegenteil: Hier und da ist sogar ein Teilnahmezwang feststellbar. Die Annahme spontanen Verhaltens lässt sich damit nicht vereinbaren. Es bleibt auch festzuhalten, dass sich der Charakter des Karnevals mit den von Bachtin erarbeiteten Kategorien wie “Familiarität”, “Exzentrizität”, “Mesalliance” oder “Profanis- ierung” nicht erfassen lässt.Das Problematische an Moser’s Kritik des Bachtins Werkes stellt die szenisch in drastischer Weise dargestellte Volkskultur. Sie leistet der Auflösung der theologischen Idee Vorschub, fuhrt zum Behagen an der Belustigung, was wiederum auf Kosten der symbolischen Dimension geht, die nur als Vorwand benutzt wird.Entsprechend zu den Ausführungen von Sergiusz Awierincew ist festzuhalten, dass das Verstehen von “Lachen” “Lachsubjekt” im Sinne von Bachtin keineswegs zu begründen vermag.Die Probleme, die daraus resultieren, sind dem polnischem Leser kaum bekannt. So fungieren die bachtinischen Oeuvres, insbesondere die Basis seiner Argumentation, als methodologisches “Faktum”. Das Interessanteste daran ist, dass die Grundideen ungeprüft weitergetragen werden. Dies vor allem gerade durch diejenigen Autoren, die sich selbst kritisch mit Bachtin auseinandergesetzt haben, die aber den Kem dieser Theorie als wissenschaftlich erwiesen betrachten. In der vorliegenden Abhandlung wird aber ganz im Gegenteil die Möglichkeit der sinnvollen Umgestaltung des Kernes des bachtinischen Denkens als außerordentlich zweifelhaft und kritikwürdig dargelegt. Die weithin akzeptierte Plausibilität der Konzeption erweist sich daher als nur scheinbar.

    Referring to my previous research (Wojtowicz 2010, 2011), the article analyses a humorous text entitled Peregrynacja Maćkowa (Maciek’s Peregrination, printed in 1612) which offers a parodic and satirical take on the ideas characteristic of courtly culture. I examine how these ideas are mocked with the use of parodic travesty. What serves as a starting point for discussion are the analyses of courtly culture by Rüdiger Schnell (in Die höfische Kultur des Mittelalters zwischen Ekel und Ästhetik). Apart from parodying courtly culture, the author of Peregrynacja Maćkowa mocks the chivalric romance and travel novels as well as alludes to the Brautwerbung motif.

    Recenzja jest omówieniem – prezentacją monografii Małgorzaty Mieszek poświęconej dramaturgii Jana Bielskiego, postaci ważnej dla jezuickiej sztuki dramatopisarskiej XVIII wieku. Uchodził on już w oczach współczesnych (Jan Daniel Janocki, Józef Andrzej Załuski) za czołowego reprezentanta zreformowanego dramatu, także za odnowiciela klasycznej łaciny, a jednocześnie zwolennika języka polskiego w teatrze szkolnym. Książka Mieszek obejmuje ponadto problematykę funkcjonowania teatru jezuickiego w Rzeczypospolitej XVIII wieku.
    The review is a discussion – presentation of Małgorzata Mieszek’s monograph devoted to the dramaturgy of Jan Bielski, an important Jesuit playwright of the eighteenth century. He was regarded by his contemporaries (Jan Daniel Janocki, Józef Andrzej Załuski) as a leading representative of reformed dramaturgy, also as a promoter of classical Latin, and, simultaneously, as an advocate of the Polish language in school theatre. The book of Mieszek also traces the status of Jesuit theatre in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the eighteenth century.

    W zarządzaniu współczesną organizacją techniki informatyczne zajmują szczególne miejsce, gdyż w dużej mierze obieg informacji jest możliwy i realizowany poprzez ich użycie. Informatyzacja jest koniecznością wymuszoną przez otoczenie organizacji. Dotyczy to zarówno organizacji rynkowych działających dla zysku, jak i organizacji non profit. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie na przykładzie wybranego szpitala procesu jego informatyzacji i tworzenia systemu informatycznego wspomagającego proces zarządzania tą placówką.
    In the management of a modern organization Information Technology takes a special place, as to a large degree information circulation is possible and carried out just through its use. Taking advantage of Information Technology becomes a necessity forced by the environment of an organization―starting with a compulsory clearance performed partly electronically and finishing with the need of having e-mail addresses and web pages of a company being essential from the marketing point of view. Used information technologies, and related to them procedures as well as change processes do not depend on the fact that we deal with an economic or non-economic organization, a production company, a company providing services or a non-profit company. The aim of the article is to show the case study of a hospital, where the process of creating and implementing information technology has been described as an example, and creating an information system which supports the process of managing this institution.

    Opis:
    Multidrug resistance has for many years attracted attention of numerous investigators. Attempts have also been made to increase efficiency of anti-neoplastic therapy. For this reason, most of efforts have been devoted to analysing proteins engaged in the mechanism of multidrug resistance such as the N-glycosylated membrane protein glycoprotein P. Interestingly, glycosylation probably plays a significant role in the intracellular location and activity of modified proteins. Inhibitors of glycosylation have been demonstrated to alter the activity of glycoprotein P in various ways, depending on the cell line examined. These inhibitors markedly reduce multidrug resistance of cancer cells, thus promoting success of anti-neoplastic therapy. Here, we review the basic knowledge on N-glycosylation inhibitors, their effect on glycoprotein P and their therapeutic potential.
