Opis:
W artykule zaprezentowana została autorska koncepcja budowy szczupłych systemów wytwarzania zgodnie z którą w skuteczny i konsekwentny sposób można przystąpić do „odchudzania” dowolnego systemu produkcyjnego zarządzanego do tej pory w tradycyjny sposób. Przedstawiona koncepcja została skonfrontowana z czternastoma zasadami Systemu Produkcyjnego Toyoty TPS.
The article presents the author's concept of lean production systems, in which an efficient and consistent way to lean any production system managed so far in the traditional way is presented. The presented concept was confronted with the fourteen principles of the Toyota Production System TPS. The article also addresses the question of what role a university can play in the reorganization of production systems for "lean" production systems in the context of Polish entrepreneurship.

Opis:
The article is a literature review in the scope of theory of constraints in manufacturing companies developed by E. Goldratt. Particular emphasis is placed on the economic sphere of such companies as opposed to the literature dedicated to solving production control problem by using DBR technique advocated by developers and active users of theory of constraints. The article aims to show the approach to the presentation of measurements developed by theory of constraints in the context of corporate net profit and return on invested money in productive activities in the real industrial plants. This is called throughput accounting that indicates the effectiveness of money processing in the production system. In addition, literature analysis aims to show the degree of utilization of theory of constraints in scientific environments in the context of efficiency measures in achieving the goal objective of making money or achieving degree of operational expenses savings in production systems.

Opis:
This article describes the way of exploiting an andon system to measure key performance indicators (KPIs) of manufacturing plant from the automotive industry. The performance measurement is conducted using four factors in two levels of performance aggregation. The first level constitutes the set of performance factors calculated for separated areas such as overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to measure operational effectiveness and total effective equipment performance (TEEP) for analysis of capacity utilization. In the second level some global fators are proposed such as overall plant effectiveness (OPE) and total effective plant performance (TEPP) for global investigation of plant performance. Although OEE is well-known factor indicating different types of production losses it doesn’t allow to look globally on the performance of whole production system. Therefore, a method of calculating global performance for whole plant in the form of OPE and TEPP is presented. These factors are investigated based on previous calculated OEE factors for smaller manufacturing areas. An andon system is used as information tool to monitor production losses needed to calculate mentioned KPIs factors.

Opis:
One of the most important issue regarding scheduling problem is production uncertainty. From the standpoint of real-world scheduling problem, it is necessary to find solution of building the schedule which can be insensitive to production disruptions such as machine breakdowns, incorrectly estimated time interval of machines maintenance, absence of workers, unavailability of materials or tooling, production defects, variable processing times, etc. This research study is conducted to answer the question: how the researchers cope with the problem of production uncertainty taking into account the scheduling problem? Our investigation focuses on approaches developed for scheduling with production uncertainty consideration. Among these approaches the most popular ones are: reactive scheduling, proactive scheduling, predictive scheduling and robust predictive-reactive approaches. A brief explanation of individual approaches are presented. Further, models of uncertainty used in scheduling approaches are highlighted.

Opis:
The article presents the possibility to modify finding solutions when job-shop scheduling is conducted based on the idea of virtual cellular manufacturing. It is demonstrated that creation of virtual manufacturing cells for defined production orders and exploiting them in the process of job-shop scheduling allows to reduce makespan. In a virtual manufacturing cell, machines are dedicated to produce for selected production orders as in a regular manufacturing cell, but machines are not physically allocated in designated area. Virtual cell configurations are therefore temporary, and assignments are made to optimize the scheduling objective under changing demand conditions. In this research, an example of job-shop scheduling problem with embedded virtual cellular manufacturing is presented. The conditions of application of virtual manufacturing cells in terms of production flow modification are described.
