W pracy dokonano oceny biomechanicznej funkcji lokomocyjnych weterana wojennego. Uzyskane dla weterana wojennego wyniki ilościowej analizy chodu porównano z wartościami otrzymanymi dla grupy 56 zdrowych osób dorosłych, bez zaburzeń w obrębie narządu ruchu. Badania doświadczalne przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem systemu optoelektronicznego BTS Smart. Analizie porównawczej poddano parametry czasowo-przestrzenne i kinematyczne chodu oraz zmiany energii całkowitej, potencjalnej, wypadkowej energii kinetycznej w czasie chodu. Uzyskane dla weterana wojennego wyniki znacznie odbiegały od wartości/zakresów normatywnych, wskazując na znaczne obrażenia aparatu ruch, które poniósł podczas wybuchu improwizowanego urządzenia wybuchowego.
In the work the biomechanical evaluation of locomotion functions of a war veteran was made. The results of the quantitative gait analysis obtained for a war veteran were compared with the values obtained for a group of 56 healthy adults without locomotor disorders. Experimental studies were carried out using the BTS Smart optoelectronic system. The spatiotemporal and kinematic parameters of gait as well as changes in total energy, potential energy, kinetic energy and its components during gait were subjected to comparative analysis. The results obtained for a war veteran differed significantly from normative values / ranges, indicating significant injuries to the apparatus, which he suffered during the explosion of the improvised explosive device.

The article presents the socio-environmental policy of the selected entities operating in the rock raw materials industry. Integrated reports prepared by mining entrepreneurs may be a source of verification of the “raw materials policy”, identified as a manifestation of the care of these entities for the environment and society. Rational deposit management is closely related to the raw material policy. The preparation of integrated reports is compulsory from as of January 2017 (in accordance with Directive 2014/95/EU) for large companies in the EU. These are companies that fulfil the criterion of the number of employees (500 persons for public interest entities required under the Directive to extend non-financial information) and the balance sheet total (>EUR 20 million EUR) or net income (>EUR 40 million EUR). This obligation mainly applies to mining enterprises involved in mining and processing hard coal, lignite or copper ore. The mining of non-energy raw materials is no less important. The rock raw materials are used, among others, in road construction, railways or construction, in the form of aggregates, and stone elements, and also in the paper, cosmetic and ceramic industries. The article aims to analyze the socio-environmental policy of mining entrepreneurs dealing with the exploitation of rock raw materials in accordance with latest GRI guidelines (Global Reporting Initiative – G4). The scope of activities was compared in accordance with the principles of sustainable development of three large companies operating in the Polish mining industry: Cemex, Górażdże Heidelberg Cement Group and Lafarge. They compared the extent to which and the form in which non-financial data are is presented. It was presented and included which of the mentioned companies take into account the full value chain in the reporting process, from mining operations to processing and sale products, into account.
Artykuł prezentuje istotę racjonalnej gospodarki złożem wybranych podmiotów działających w branży surowców skalnych, w kontekście środowiskowym i społecznym. Zintegrowane raporty przygotowywane przez przedsiębiorców górniczych mogą być źródłem weryfikacji „polityki surowcowej”, interpretowanej jako przejaw dbałości podmiotów o środowisko i społeczeństwo. Racjonalna gospodarka złożem ściśle związana jest z polityką surowcową. Przygotowanie ww. raportów jest obowiązkowe od stycznia 2017 r. (zgodnie z dyrektywą 2014/95/UE) dla dużych przedsiębiorstw na terenie Unii Europejskiej. Są to przedsiębiorstwa, które spełniają kryterium liczby zatrudnianych pracowników (500 osób dla jednostek zainteresowania publicznego, mających zgodnie z dyrektywą obowiązek rozszerzenia informacji niefinansowych) oraz kwoty sumy bilansowej (>20 mln EUR) lub przychodów netto (>40 mln EUR). Tym samym obowiązek ten dotyczy głównie krajowych przedsiębiorstw górniczych zajmujących się wydobyciem i przetwórstwem węgla kamiennego, węgla brunatnego czy rud miedzi. Nie mniej istotne jest górnictwo kopalin skalnych (nieenergetycznych). Dostarcza ono surowców wykorzystywanych m.in. w drogownictwie, kolejnictwie czy budownictwie, w postaci kruszyw, a także elementów kamiennych, jak również są stosowane w przemyśle papierniczym, kosmetycznym czy ceramicznym. Artykuł ma na celu analizę polityki społeczno-środowiskowej przedsiębiorców górniczych zajmujących się eksploatacją surowców skalnych i sporządzających raporty zgodnie z wytycznymi GRI (Global Reporting Initiative – G4). Porównano w nim i zweryfikowano zakres działań zgodnych z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju trzech dużych międzynarodowych firm funkcjonujących w warunkach krajowej branży górniczej: Cemex, Górażdże Heidelberg Cement Group oraz Lafarge. Porównano, w jakim zakresie i w jakiej formie prezentowane są dane niefinansowe. Przedstawiono, które z wymienionych przedsiębiorstw uwzględniają w procesie raportowania pełen łańcuch tworzenia wartości, od działalności wydobywczej po procesy przeróbcze i sprzedaż produktów.

Alcohol abuse is one of the most significant factors in the development of liver fibrosis. The pathomechanism of liver fibrosis is the same regardless of its etiology. Fibrosis is a sign of an imbalance between the synthesis of the extracellular matrix components and their degradation. Among the many cytokines that affect hepatic stellate cell activation it seems that transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) is the most significant, either as the direct factor stimulating polymerase chain reaction (HSC) proliferation and transformation into myofibroblasts, or as the direct factor causing an increase in the activity of genes responsible for the synthesis of extracellular matrix components. The aim of the study was to reveal possible dependencies and differences between the presence of certain alleles of the TGF-β1 gene and its blood level in the study and control group. Blood samples were obtained from 39 patients, the control group consisted of 21 patients. The results obtained in the course of this study showed no statistically significant differences between the frequencies of particular polymorphisms. In the case of haplotype frequencies, insignificant differences were found for the algorithm Excoffier-Laval-Balding predicted haplotypes while one significant difference between the study and control groups was detected in case of the TC haplotype frequency predicted using the Expectation-Maximization algorithm. However, the difference in frequency of TC haplotype predicted by both algorithms was not significant. Genetic analysis of two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in exon I of the TGF-β1 gene did not show significant differences between the occurrence of particular polymorphisms and haplotypes in the populations under study.

Mössbauer 57Fe measurements of three ordinary chondrites type H and of three ordinary chondrites type LL were performed at room temperature. The spectral areas were fitted using the “Recoil” program (Lagarec i in. 1998). Fitting was repeated three times which allowed us to determinate the differences between the results of fits performed by different persons.

The work completed and discussed in this paper was to determine the level of smoke generation intensity in a selection of solid rocket propellants developed to minimise the level of generated smoke. This is an important issue for the application of the developed low-smoke propellant in, for example, the sustainer motor of a rocket missile. Reduced smoke generation levels can help to significantly reduce the feasibility of enemy detecting rocket munition launch sites. The authors of this paper developed a test stand that quantified the smoke generation intensity in rocket propellants. The test stand setup, based on the scatter of a laser beam by smoke, measured the smoke generation intensity, including during the operation of a rocket motor. A rocket micromotor was used along with a test chamber to measure the intensity of the smoke generated. It was located directly behind the motor exhaust and provided three laser- photodiode measurement channels. Tests of the smoke generated during the combustion of black powder and a standard mixture of HTPB and AP at a ratio of 20:80 provided reference baselines for the smoke generation intensity tests on the developed rocket propellants. The authors determined the smoke generation intensity of the propellants based on ADN, HTPB, and GAP with various additives. The results produced made it possible to compare the tested materials and select the most preferable materials as measured by their low smoke generation intensity.
Przeprowadzone prace miały na celu określenie poziomu intensywności dymienia wybranych stałych, rakietowych materiałów pędnych, opracowanych przy założeniu minimalizacji generowanego przez nie dymu. Stanowi to istotne zagadnienie w kontekście zastosowania opracowanego materiału pędnego o zmniejszonym dymieniu, np. w silniku marszowym pocisku rakietowego. Ograniczenie wytwarzania dymu może znacząco zmniejszyć możliwości wykrycia miejsca startu środków bojowych przez przeciwnika. Autorzy artykułu opracowali stanowisko badawcze umożliwiające otrzymanie wskazań intensywności dymienia rakietowych materiałów pędnych. Przygotowany system, oparty na rozpraszaniu wiązki światła laserowego w dymie, umożliwia pomiar intensywności dymienia m.in. w warunkach pracy silnika rakietowego. Zastosowano mikrosilnik rakietowy wraz z komorą badawczą układu pomiaru dymienia, umieszczoną tuż za wylotem z mikrosilnika, wyposażoną w trzy tory pomiarowe laser- fotodioda. Pomiary generowanego dymu podczas spalania prochu czarnego oraz standardowej mieszaniny HTPB z AP w stosunku 20-80 stanowiły poziomy odniesienia do porównania intensywności dymienia opracowanych materiałów pędnych. Autorzy określili intensywność dymienia materiałów pędnych opartych na zastosowaniu ADN, HTPB lub GAP oraz różnych dodatków. Otrzymane rezultaty pozwalają na porównywanie przebadanych materiałów oraz wyselekcjonowanie najlepszych pod kątem niskiej intensywności dymienia.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0, is about connecting the physical world with the virtual world in real-time. With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, manufacturing companies are introducing a number of solutions that increase productivity and personalize finished products in line with the idea of Industry 4.0. The application of, among others, the following: 3D printing, the Internet of Things, Big Data, cyber-physical systems, computing clouds, robots (collaborating and mobile), Radio-frequency identification systems, and also quality control and reverse engineering systems, is becoming popular. There are still not enough studies and analyses connected with the Polish 3D printing market, and also attempt to determine the attitude of those studies and analyses to the implementation of the Industry 4.0 conception. In connection with what is stated above, the principal objective of this paper is to determine the directions of the 3D printing industry development. In this publication, it is as well the survey respondents’ opinions relevant to opportunities and threats connected with the implementation of the Industry 4.0 conception in an enterprise are presented. The survey was conducted on a group of 100 enterprises and scientific research institutes in Poland, offering and/or applying additive technologies.

Two wooden piles, which used to be a part of the strengthening of the castle island are stored in Kórnik Castle. They were most probably excavated at the turn ofthe 1950s, during refurbishment works. In 2013, they were examined dendrochronologically and subjected to radiocarbon dating so that their age could be determined. It was established that the trees from which the piles were made were cut in 1511 (- 7/+8) (result for the oak sample) and 1512 (result for the alder sample).

The aim of the article is to present and evaluate the main activities that support the education of immigrant children in Poland and in selected European countries as well as to compare the models of integration in the field of the education of immigrant children in respective countries.The article uses the following methods: critical analysis of the literature and deductive reasoning techniques. The paper consists of three parts. The first part presents the role of education in integration policy and the objectives of the main models of integration in the area of the education of immigrant children. The second part presents legal regulations and key data relevant to immigrant children in Polish schools. The third part of the article presents integration models in European countries and compares the models of integration in Poland and in other European countries. The research hypothesis is the following: education of immigrant children as an important aspect of the policy of integration is characterised by diversified activities in respective European countries.

Celem pracy jest zbadanie wpływu związków platyny: cis- i trans-diamminodichloroplatyny (II) na interakcję DNA i aktyny in vitro. W doświadczeniu wykorzystano DNA wyizolowany z leukocytów wieprzowej krwi obwodowej oraz aktynę firmy SIGMA. Badania były prowadzone metodą analizy elektroforetycznej. Stwierdzono zmniejszenie ruchliwości elektroforetycznej DNA po inkubacji z cis- i trans-diamminodichloroplatyną (II) przy rt równym 0,5, 1, 2. W przypadku prób inkubacyjnych zawierających cis-diamminodichloroplatynę i aktynę stwierdzono zmniejszenie ruchliwości elektroforetycznej DNA. Elektrotransfer aktyny uwidocznił zmniejszenie ruchliwości elektroforetycznej białka w próbach inkubacyjnych zawierających cis-diamminodichloroplatynę. Obserwacje te świadczą o wytworzeniu wiązań krzyżowych DNA-aktyna przez cis-diamminodichloroplatynę.

Z art. 49 § 2 k.c. wynika, że osoba, która poniosła koszty budowy urządzeń przesyłowych i jest ich właścicielem może żądać, aby przedsiębiorca, który przyłączył urządzenia do swojej sieci, nabył ich własność za odpowiednim wynagrodzeniem. Charakter i treść roszczenia wynikającego ze wskazanego powyżej przepisu wywołuje wiele wątpliwości. W wyroku z 22 maja 2013 roku Sąd Apelacyjny w Szczecinie stwierdził, że przedmiotowe roszczenie nie ma charakteru bezwarunkowego, jednakże sąd w uzasadnieniu swojego rozstrzygnięcia nie wyjaśnił, jak należy rozumieć pojęcie „bezwarunkowy”. W niniejszym opracowaniu przedstawiono stanowisko zaprezentowane przez sąd oraz podjęto próbę jego oceny.
According to the article 49 § 2 of the Civil Code, a person who incurred construction costs of installations and who is their owner, may demand that an entrepreneur who connected installations to his own network, acquires their ownership against an adequate remuneration. Character and content of this claim raise a lot of concerns. Court of Appeal in Szczecin passed a judgement on the 22nd of May 2013 in which stated thatmentioned above claim does not have an unconditional character. However the Court of Appeal has not explained what does mean a term “unconditional”. This paper describes the point of view presented by the Court of Appeal with a comment.

W praktyce spółek prawa handlowego poddanie sporu pod rozstrzygnięcie sądu polubownego może nastąpić w dwóch sytuacjach. Po pierwsze, na podstawie umowy stron, w której wskazany zostanie przedmiot sporu lub stosunek prawny, z którego spór wyniknął lub może wyniknąć. Po drugie, wiążący spółkę oraz jej wspólników zapis na sąd polubowny dotyczący sporów ze stosunku spółki może zostać zamieszczony w umowie(statucie) spółki handlowej. Zagadnienie statutowej klauzuli arbitrażowej poddano szczegółowej analizie w licznych opracowaniach naukowych. Wątpliwości interpretacyjne pojawiają się jednak również na tle zakresu podmiotowego oraz przedmiotowego zapisu nasad polubowny zawieranego w umowie, której stroną jest spółka. W niniejszym opracowaniu podjęto, zatem próbę analizy przypadków, w których zakres podmiotowy skutków zapisu na sąd polubowny ulega rozszerzeniu, a w szczególności spróbowano odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy zapis zawarty w umowie, której stroną jest spółka osobowa, ulega rozszerzeniu na wspólników tej spółki, ponoszących odpowiedzialność za zobowiązania spółki.
In the course of the company’s operations submitting a dispute for settlement to an arbitration court may occur in the following two circumstances. Firstly, the parties may conclude an agreement specifying the matter at issue or the legal relationship from which a dispute arose or could arise. Secondly, an arbitration clause in the articles of association of a commercial company concerning disputes arising from company relationships is binding on the company and its shareholders. Problems connected with the issue statutory arbitration clause has been detailed analyzed in the literature. However interpretational doubts occur also in connection with objective and subjective scope of arbitration clause situated in the agreement concluded by a company. In this paper had been made an attempt to analyze cases in which the objective scope of an arbitration clause expands, in particular to answer a question whether arbitration clause situated in the agreement concluded by a company extends and includes the members of a company who held responsibility for the company’s assets.

Opis:
Autoimmune diseases due to probable common pathogenesis tend to coexist in some patients. Complex clinical presentation with diverse timing of particular symptoms and sophisticated treatment with numerous side effects, may cause diagnostic difficulties, especially in children. The paper presents diagnostic difficulties and pitfalls in a child with Graves' disease, celiac disease and liver function abnormalities.

Background: While moderate physical exercise has positive effects on the cardiovascular system, the data regarding intensive endurance sports is biased with studies suggesting that the inflammatory response to strenuous exercise may act proarrhythmogenic. In amateurs, the effects of intensive endurance exercise on the cardiovascular system have not been studied. Analysis of the effects of a marathon on the kinetics of inflammatory biomarkers may bring new insights into this issue. Material and methods: We studied the effect of a marathon on the kinetics of inflammatory biomarkers: Endothelin-1 (ET-1), Pentraxin-3 (PTX-3), Neopterin and Interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the population of 35 amateur male marathoners. The study was divided into 3 stages: two weeks prior to the marathon (S1), at the finish line (S2) and two weeks after (S3). Blood analyses for biomarkers were performed at each stage. Results: The concentrations of ET-1 (3.20 ± 0.90 vs. 1.30 ±0.34 pg/ml, p <0,001), PTX-3 (441.09 ± 295.64 vs. 279.99 ± 125.68 pg/ml, p < 0,001), Neopterin (9.97 ± 2.17 vs. 8.36 ± 2.68 nmol/l, p < 0,05) and IL-6 (32.5 ± 13.90 vs. 0.97 ± 0.77 pg/ml, p < 0,001) were significantly higher at S2 compared to S1. Conclusions: Running a marathon causes an acute rise in concentrations of inflammatory biomarkers. Further research is needed on the long-term effects of intensive endurance exercise on the cardiovascular system.

Opis:
The concept of occupational health and safety is not defined in Polish law. The only place where such a definition can be found is PN-N-1801:2004. Nevertheless, according to the Act on standardisation, the application of Polish Standards is voluntary. Activities in the field of occupational health and safety should be an integral part of business management. Companies from countries which are members of the European Union, in accordance with Directive 89/391/EEC, are obliged to implement standards related to occupational health and safety. The most commonly used and recognised standard for occupational health and safety management systems, in line with the specifics of each company, is the OHSAS 18001 international management system, while in Poland it is the PN-N-18001 standard. The study examined the scope of OHS at work among Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia employees. The employees were subjected to surveys. The results obtained show that employees appreciate the importance of OHS regulations, but they do not always consciously comply with them. One of the tools that enabled author to prepare this article is analytic method called desk research. Desk Research is a research method that boils down to analyzing the records of available data sources, including in particular their compilation, mutual verification and processing. Such analysis is the basis for drawing conclusions about the examined problem. For example - the effect of the Desk Research analysis proceeded as part of the labor market survey is the diagnosis of the state of the labor market in the studied area, the characteristics of all its component groups as well as a description and verification of the actions taken by the institutions operating within it.
