Opis:: The article presents a rock inscription of the Twentieth Dynasty king, Ramesses IV, found at the southern end of the Middle Hill of the Western Rock of Gebelein. It yields new evidence related to an unknown expedition sent via Gebelein to the south, and very likely, concerned with the acquisition of stone material for mortuary cult or/and king’s burial place.

Opis:: W artykule sprawdzono czy aplikacje napisane z wykorzystaniem wieloplatformowego szkieletu działają jednakowo wydajnie na wybranych systemach operacyjnych co rozwiązania natywne. Testowaniu poddano framework Xamarin.Forms porównując go z rozwiązaniami natywnymi Android SDK i Universal Windows Platform na systemach Android i Windows 10 Mobile.
The article examined whether applications written using the cross-platform application framework perform equally well as native solutions on selected operating systems. The Xamarin.Forms framework was tested against the native Android SDK and Universal Windows Platform frameworks for mobile systems Android and Windows 10 Mobile.

Opis:: The report outlines fieldwork conducted on the Eastern Mountain of Gebelein (ancient town of Per-Hathor/Pathyris) in the 2018 season. Despite extensive exploration in the past, the publication record for this area is poor. Current epigraphic research and archaeological field survey, as well as an analysis of published and unpublished archival materials has yielded new data concerning the topography and history of the area, which is presented in this paper.

Opis:: A double foundation deposit was found in the souteastern part of the Tuthmosis III Hathor shrine at Deir el-Bahari. The architectural features, a pit with a niche at the bottom, confirm the dating of both of these deposits to the times of Tuthmosis III. An original feature of the southeastern one is the initial circular cavity changed into a semicircular one by the building of a mud-brick wall in the east. Several courses of mud bricks built up the rim of the pit above the rock-carved cavity. The whole structure was plastered inside with mud plaster. The bricks were mostly reused from the Middle Kingdom structure of Mentuhotep II. The content, although disturbed, still consists of organic offerings as well as ceramics, but no inscribed material.

Opis:: The ‘Marea’ project of the University of Warsaw expanded the program to survey and excavation in the northern and eastern parts of the city in order to establish the character and chronology of the structures there. The eastern waterfront was uncovered, along with the adjacent latrines, streets and buildings which are presumed to be residential. The structures which were examined were very regularly formed and involved large-scale earthworks. They were built no earlier than the mid-6th century AD, and, although their purpose sometimes changed, they remained in use until about the mid-8th century AD. Accumulations of Roman, Byzantine and early Islamic date were discovered, including the oldest remains this season, that is, a row of locally-manufactured amphorae serving an unexplained purpose.

Opis:: All periods of Egyptian history are represented at Gebelein and it encompasses many kinds of archaeological site found in the Nile valley (that is, cemeteries, settlements, fortifications, temples, rock quarries etc.). The area was a significant centre in the history of ancient Egypt, but its exact role and the reasons for its importance still awaits explanation. That is why the Gebelein Archaeological Project was initiated. The field survey of Gebelein, which started in 2014, aims to recognise the topography of the area and the degree of destruction of the sites and to locate archaeological remains as well as to determine their interpretation and dating. This report outlines the results of work conducted during seasons 2014, 2015 and 2016, which encompassed the archaeological and epigraphic field surveys, geophysical prospection as well as work conducted in the rock-cut chapel of Hathor.

Opis:: Fieldwork in early 2019 by the Gebelein Archaeological Project encompassed surveys of two cemeteries situated south of the ancient town of Per-Hathor/Pathyris in the area of the Eastern Mountain of Gebelein. One of these is dated to the Old Kingdom and the First Intermediate Period, the other tentatively to Fatimid times. The third survey searched for local chert sources on the Western Mountain, investigating a local tradition of lithic tool production.
