    Opis:
    The aim of this paper is to assess the level and changes in the innovativeness of Poland against the background of EU countries, considering the role of regions in that process. The statistical analyses of reports prepared by the European Commission were performed. These reports were devoted to the innovativeness of Poland and other EU countries. The taxonomic method was applied for determining the level of innovativeness and economy in the regions of Poland. The time basis of our divagations corresponds to the programming period of 2007/2013, being in force in the European Union. The study results confirmed the assumed research theses suggesting low level of innovativeness in Poland, dependence upon external factors, weak role of enterprising, repeating foreign patterns in the regions, loosening the connections between innovative and economic development of the regions. In conclusion, there is the need for changes in innovative policy.
    Celem artykułu jest ocena poziomu i zmian w innowacyjności Polski na tle krajów UE, z uwzględnieniem roli regionów w tym procesie. Przeprowadzono analizy statystyczne raportów Komisji Europejskiej poświęcone innowacyjności Polski i innych krajów UE oraz zastosowano metodę taksonomiczną do określenia poziomu innowacyjności i poziomu gospodarki w polskich regionach. Podstawa czasowa pokrywa się z okresem programowania w UE obejmującym lata 2007–2013. Wyniki badań potwierdziły przyjęte tezy, które sugerowały niski poziom innowacyjności Polski, uzależnienie od czynników zewnętrznych, słabą rolę przedsiębiorczości, powielanie w regionach wzorów zagranicznych i rozluźnienie związków między innowacyjnym a gospodarczym rozwojem regionów. Wskazuje to na potrzebę zmian w dotychczasowej polityce innowacyjnej Polski.

    On the basis of statistical data for the year 2012 studies were conducted, which comprised territorial units on local level, i.e. communes in the province of Lublin. These studies were aimed at determining the role of local economy in the development of the Lublin region. The studies concerned the financial condition of particular categories of communes, their investment activity, as well as participation in European Union projects. The effect of regional surrounding conditions upon the formation of economic potential in the Lublin region was also assessed – in. a. urbanization level, economic structure, as well as the competitiveness of economy. Problems that the communes struggle with were indicated, together with the suggested solutions to them.

    Opis:
    It is generally assumed that metropolises are a product of globalization and the bases of globaliza- tion were created by network economy. Networks connect metropolis one with another, as well as with remote areas, create the basis for their cooperation and competition. The benefits drawn from networks cause the weakening of connections linking a metropolis with the regional base. The article is focused on analyzing the causes of weakening cooperation between the metropolis and the regional surroundings, their manifestations, consequences in the sphere of regional development and preventing these unfavor- able tendencies. Going over to the cooperation in a network is a necessary condition in contemporary economy. However, it cannot constitute a threat of disintegration of the region where the metropolis is situated. The regional base should still draw benefits from the neighborhood of a big city, which now functions as a metropolis on the principles adjusted to new conditions of economic development.

    The studies were aimed at assessing the relationships and changes in the developmental potential of Lublin, i.e. in the level of development, fulfilled functions, the city`s capital and its economic situation. They created prerequisites for concluding about Lublin`s position among the largest cities in Poland and its possible effects upon developmental processes in the region of Lublin. The study results demonstrated that changes in Lublin`s economy head towards modernizing it, which improves its position in the group of Poland`s largest cities and strengthens its influence upon developmental processes in the region. These changes are of durable nature, because they are based on innovations and development of research-developmental activities, focused on practical effects.

    The artice treats on two genres of mnemotechnical poetry: acrostichon and chronostichon, which belong also to poesis artificiosa current. There have been done genological analisis of this two genres, and there also have been showed their development on century time frame (since 14th to 18th century). This two genres of Old Polish poetry appeared in the first decade of the 14th century and there have been showed several variants of each genre and also their development far to 18th century. The article deals with all the availabe in print works, both in Polish and Latin, which belong to this genres. It was noticed that acrostichon had been useful and therefore was often practised in love poetry. The use of this genre was a good method of paying compliments to the beautiful woman. It was also a manifestation of baroque poetry with the use of puns and suprising changes of meaning.

    Opis:
    The article discusses image development in “Parallax” (an internet magazine devoted to computer games), with a special focus on aspects of visual identification. The article presents the characteristics of “Parallax”, the stages of building its image, and the building of the brand, with special attention paid to issues such as the design of name, logo, typography, and the selection of the appropriate color. The aim of the study is to demonstrate how conscious image building affects perceptions of the e-zine. Thanks to developments in interactivity, the mass media communication model is changing. The engagement of the sender and receiver provides clues for the proper functioning of this new-born journalism type, which is a key contributor that is rapidly gaining importance in relation to traditional media types. The author reveals plans to increase the contribution of graphic, visual aspects in internet media models when comparing them to “paper” media, which often seems to be underestimated by publishers and explains its importance for identity creation in internet media.
