This article discusses the effects of surfacing with the introduction of mechanical vibrations into the material using shot blasting. It does not require a rigid attachment of the vibrating system to the base material, and vibrations are introduced as a result of supplying energy of collision of the shot with the parent material. The effect of introducing mechanical vibrations through shot blasting during welding of P235GH steel on the structure and hardness of obtained structures was described. Comparative results of tests revealing the basic differences in the structural structure and hardness of reached welds without shot blasting and with its participation were presented. As a result of the conducted research, differences in the structural structure of the welds were shown and it was shown that shot blasting is an effective and alternative method of introducing mechanical vibrations supporting welding processes.
W niniejszym artykule omówiono efekty napawania z wprowadzaniem drgań mechanicznych do materiału z wykorzystaniem śrutowania. Nie wymaga ona sztywnego zamocowania układu drgającego do materiału podstawowego, a drgania wprowadzane są w wyniku dostarczania energii zderzenia śrutu z podłożem. Opisano wpływ wprowadzania drgań mechanicznych poprzez śrutowanie w czasie napawania stali P235GH na strukturę i twardość uzyskanych struktur. Zaprezentowano porównawcze wyniki badań ujawniających podstawowe różnice w budowie strukturalnej i twardości uzyskanych napoin bez śrutowania oraz z jego udziałem. W wyniku przeprowadzonych badań wykazano różnice w budowie strukturalnej napoin i pokazano, że śrutowanie stanowi efektywną i alternatywną metodę wprowadzania drgań mechanicznych wspomagających procesy spawalnicze.

Deformed soliton solutions are studied in a typical set of (2+1)-dimensional complex modified Korteweg–de Vries (cmKdV) equations. Through constructing the determinant form of the n-fold Darboux transformation for these (2+1)-dimensional cmKdV equations, we obtain general order-n deformed soliton solutions using zero seeds. With no loss of generality, we focus on order-1 and order-2 deformed solitons. Three types of order-1 deformed solitons, namely, the polynomial type, the trigonometric type, and the hyperbolic type, are derived. Meanwhile, their dynamical behaviors, including amplitude, velocity, direction, periodicity, and symmetry, are also investigated in detail. In particular, the formulas of |q[1]| and trajectories are provided analytically, which are involved by an arbitrary smooth function f(y + 4λ2t). For order-2 cases, we obtain the general analytical expressions of deformed solitons. Two typical solitons, possessing different properties in temporal symmetry, are discussed.

ObjectivesThis study aimed to investigate the prevalence of insomnia and risk factors among different job categories of steel workers in China, in order to improve their quality of occupational life.Material and MethodsA cross-sectional face-to-face survey was conducted which involved 5834 steel workers from a large enterprise located in northern China, including front-line, maintenance and inspection, and other auxiliary workers. The Athens Insomnia Scale and the Job Content Questionnaire were used to assess the status of insomnia and job stress/social support, respectively. Multivariable logistic regression was used to identify factors influencing insomnia.ResultsThe overall prevalence of insomnia was determined at 42.0% (95% confidence interval: 40.7%–43.2%). For front-line, maintenance and inspection, and other auxiliary workers, the prevalence was 42.3%, 39.8%, and 47.9% (p = 0.001), respectively. The participants with high stress and low support, and those who had experienced ≥2 major life events in the past 12 months, compared to those with low stress and high support, and those without major events, displayed an increased risk of insomnia among all 3 job categories (the adjusted odds ratio ranged 1.56–2.38 and 1.30–1.75, respectively). The educational level, shift work, alcohol consumption, and present illness were identified as influencing factors of insomnia for 1 or 2 job categories.ConclusionsThe prevalence of insomnia was the highest in the group of other auxiliary steel workers among the 3 job categories of steel workers under consideration. While the influencing factors of insomnia differed among the groups, job stress and major life events were common risk factors of insomnia among the 3 categories of steel workers.

A coated composite was prepared on polyester-cotton plain weave fabric, using PU2540 polyurethane as the matrix. The influences of the content of nickel powders on the dielectric constant (the real and imaginary parts and loss tangent value), reflection loss and shielding effectiveness of single-layer coated composites were mainly investigated. The results showed that within the frequency range of 1-1000 MHz, the value of the real part of the dielectric constant of the coated composites was the largest, and the polarisation ability with regard to electromagnetic waves was the strongest when the content of nickel powders was 40%. Within the frequency range of 15-225 MHz, the value of the imaginary part of the dielectric constant of the coated composites was the largest and the loss ability with regard to electromagnetic waves was the strongest when the content of nickel powders was 40%. Within the frequency range of 250-800 MHz, the loss tangent value of the dielectric constant of coated composites was the largest, and the attenuation ability with regard to electromagnetic waves was the strongest when the content of nickel powders was 40%. Within the frequency range of 1220-3000 MHz, the reflection loss value was the smallest when the content of nickel powders was 40%, and its absorption ability with regard to electromagnetic waves was the strongest. Within the frequency range of 760-3000 MHz, the shielding effectiveness of the coated composite was the largest when the content of nickel powders was 40%.

Graphite/talcum powder double-coated glass fibre felt composites were prepared using glass fibre felt as the base material, graphite as the surface absorbing agent, talcum powder as the underlying absorbing agent, epoxy resin E44 as the adhesive and low molecular 650 polyamide as the curing agent. The influences of the surface graphite content and underlying talcum powder content on the dielectric properties and conductivity of glass fibre felt composites were the main focus of the investigation. Results showed that when the frequency is less than 103 Hz, the values of the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric constant for double-coated glass fibre felt composites are largest when the surface graphite content is 50%. When the frequency is larger than 106 Hz, the value of the real part of the conductivity is largest when the graphite contents are 40% and 50%. When the frequency is less than 104Hz, the real part of the dielectric constant of the glass fiber mat composites is the largest when the talc content is 40%, and when talc content is 60%, the imaginary part of dielectric constant of glass fiber mat composites is the largest. The maximum loss tangent value for the composites occurs when the talcum powder content is 40%. When the frequency is larger, the value of the real part of the conductivity increases gradually.
W pracy przygotowano podwójnie powlekane kompozyty filcu z włókna szklanego w postaci grafit/talk. Użyto filcu z włókna szklanego jako materiału bazowego, grafitu jako powierzchniowego środka pochłaniającego, talku jako podstawowego środka pochłaniającego, żywicy epoksydowej E44 jako kleju i poliamidu 650 o niskiej masie cząsteczkowej jako środek utwardzającego. Głównym przedmiotem badań było określenie wpływu zawartości grafitu powierzchniowego oraz zawartości proszku talku na właściwości dielektryczne i przewodność kompozytów z filcu z włókna szklanego. Wyniki wykazały, że gdy częstotliwość jest mniejsza niż 103 Hz, wartości części rzeczywistej i urojonej stałej dielektrycznej dla podwójnie powlekanych kompozytów z filcu z włókna szklanego są największe, gdy zawartość grafitu powierzchniowego wynosi 50%. Gdy częstotliwość jest większa niż 106 Hz, wartość rzeczywistej części przewodnictwa jest największa, gdy zawartość grafitu wynosi 40% i 50%. Maksymalna wartość tangensa strat dla kompozytów występuje, gdy zawartość talku wynosi 40%. Gdy częstotliwość jest większa, wartość rzeczywistej części przewodnictwa stopniowo wzrasta.

In this study, an electrochemical method was used to permeate hydrogen through annealed DP590 steel under various pre-strain conditions (0-15%). Stress-strain and internal friction-temperature curves of the dual phase (DP) steel were obtained from slow strain-rate tensile tests and internal friction measurements, respectively. The diffusion of interstitial atoms, formation of Cottrell atmospheres, and embrittlement mechanism of DP steel were investigated under different prestress conditions before and after hydrogen permeation. The results show that the tensile strength of DP steel first decreases and then increases and the elongation sharply decreases with increasing pre-strain. The strength and ductility present similar trends with changes in pre-strain before and after hydrogen charging, however, after hydrogen charging, an obvious increase in tensile strength and decrease in elongation are observed. Furthermore, the γ peak amplitude decreases and the Snoek-Ke-Koster (SKK) peak amplitude increases with increasing internal pre-strain according to the friction-temperature curve. The γ peak and SKK peak exhibit the same trends with increasing pre-strain before and after hydrogen charging and both the γ peak and SKK peak decrease with hydrogen charging. The dislocation density in DP steel increases after hydrogen charging.

Nickel slag has a high-content iron and is a secondary utilization resource with great development potential. The coal-based direct reduction is an innovative technology that can be used to utilize the iron resources in nickel slag. The effect of the particle size of nickel slag on the strength and the reduction of nickel slag-coal composite briquettes were investigated. Four samples with particle size of 75~106 μm, 106~150 μm, 150~270 μm, and >270 μm were selected. The drop strength increased 9.4 times and the compressive strength reached 281.1 N when the nickel slag particle size decreased from >270 μm to 75~106 μm. The reduction degree determined by the data from the thermogravimetric experiment indicated that its maximum was 79.545%. The reduction experiments performed at 1200°C for 45 minutes indicated that the nickel slag with particle sizes between 75~106 μm were appropriate for the reduction of the nickel slag-coal composite briquettes.

We theoretically investigate the tight focusing of radially polarized circular partially coherent(RPCPC) beams through a high numerical aperture objective. The sub-wavelength super-long optical needle and dark channel can be obtained near the focus, by engineering the source coherent length of the incident RPCPC beams. The length of the optical needle and the dark channel can be adjusted, and the obtained maximal lengths of the optical needle and the dark channel are both 22λ.The full width at half maximum of the optical needle and the dark channel are 0.6λ and 0.48λ, respectively.

ObjectivesExposure to light at night (LAN) can disturb circadian endocrine and metabolic rhythms. Hyperuricemia (HUA) is an early-onset metabolic disorder. However, it is still not clear whether LAN exposure increases the prevalence of HUA.Material and MethodsThe authors used crosssectional data on the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei occupational populations cohort from March–July 2017. A total of 7664 steel workers were finally selected to investigate the relationship between LAN exposure and the prevalence of HUA among steel workers. The authors collected demographic and socio-economic data, as well as information on lifestyle factors, anthropometric measures, and laboratory tests. The restricted cubic spline method was used to analyze the dose-response relationship between cumulative LAN exposure and the prevalence of HUA. Logistic regression analyses were used to fit the relationship between them.ResultsThe average age of the participants was 43.5±8.6 years; 7051 (91.7%) of them were males, 2749 (35.9%) reported to suffer from HUA, and 1241 (16.2%) were not exposed to LAN. There was a significant non-linear dose-response relationship between them. After adjustment for the confounding factors, including demographic data, lifestyle factors, etc., the lower LAN exposure was significantly associated with HUA (0–1931.7 days, OR = 1.180, and the 95% CI: 1.000–1.394; 1931.7–4343 days, OR = 1.215, 95% CI: 1.035–1.426).ConclusionsThis study revealed that a certain amount of exposure to LAN is independently related to the prevalence of HUA in steel workers in China.
