Opis:
The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of Leishmania infantum and Toxoplasma gondii among household dogs in Shanghai (the most important industrial and commercial city in China), and to assess the possible risk factors associated with the infection. During 2014–2015, a total of 408 sera were collected from healthy household dogs and tested for L. infantum and T. gondii infection using commercial ELISA kits. The endemic characteristics according to gender, age group and breed were revealed by statistical descriptions and inference. The positive rates of L. infantum infection (24/408, 5.9%) were lower than those of T. gondii infection (37/408, 9.1%), and co-infection with both parasites was detected in seven dogs (7/408, 1.7%). Seropositivity for either parasite was more likely associated with age: the seroprevalence of T. gondii infection ranged from 1.3% (dogs≤1 year) – 18.7% (dogs>6 years), whereas that of L. infantum ranged from 1.3% (dogs≤1 year) – 9.9 % (dogs>6 years). Interestingly, the rates of exposure to both L. infantum and T. gondii were higher in males than in females. Relatively higher exposure rates for L. infantum and T. gondii were also observed in crossbred dogs compared with purebred dogs. However, neither gender nor breed is likely a determining factor for infection with these two parasites (P > 0.05). Identification of the risk factors that underlie these differences may help in the prevention of L. infantum and T. gondii infection in household dogs. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of L. infantum and T. gondii infection in household dogs in Shanghai, which shows that these two important parasites are still prevalent in this region. Therefore, it is necessary to take integrated strategies for prevention and control of infection in animals, which could help to reduce human infection in the region.

Opis:
Ancient Chinese embroidery is an important intangible part of the cultural heritage of mankind. Its colours and contours are a major source of oriental inspiration and design elements for designers today. This study presents an effective intelligent recognition of colour and contour based on K-means++ clustering and the Canny operator for colour and contour application of ancient Chinese embroidery images and for digital inheritance and innovation. First, digital cameras and portable scanners were used in embroidery image acquisition. Second, colour level adjustment, sharpening and smoothing were specially added to the preprocessing, because of the ancient embroidery age or colour errors caused by the shooting angle. Third, K-means++ clustering was used for colour clustering. Fourth, the Canny operator was used for contour detection. After the addition of colour level adjustment and sharpening in the preprocessing, the colours and contours could be acquired accurately and more effectively from embroidery images and be read and edited independently.

Opis:
This study investigated the nitrogen removal performance in wetland microcosms individually planted with different plant monocultures, including emergent, free-floating and submerged plants during ammonia removals, or large- and small-leaf free-floating plants during nitrate removal. For ammonia-dominated wastewater, both emergent (common reed) and free-floating (water hyacinth) plants in wetland microcosms achieved higher total nitrogen removals than a submerged plant (eelgrass) that significantly improved the microbial nitrifying performance. For nitrate-dominated wastewater, efficient nitrate removals in wetland microcosms planted with free-floating plant were achieved by both a full cover of water surface and the concentration of organic oxygen-consuming substances, which resulted in low dissolved oxygen levels and boosted microbial denitrification in wetland microcosms. FWS-CW developers and managers should thus pay close attention to the selection of wetland plant types and optimize their design to achieve optimum nitrogen removal performance.

Opis:
Dynamic softening behaviors of a promising biomedical Ti-13Nb-13Zr alloy under hot deformation conditions across dual phase α + β and single phase β regions were quantitatively characterized by establishing corresponding dynamic recovery (DRV) and dynamic recrystallization (DRX) kinetic models. A series of wide range hot compression tests on a Gleeble-3500 thermo-mechanical physical simulator were implemented under the strain rate range of 0.01-10 s−1 and the temperature range of 923-1173 K. The apparent differences of flow stress curves obtained in dual phase α + β and single phase β regions were analyzed in term of different dependence of flow stress to temperature and strain rate and different microstructural evolutions. Two typical softening mechanisms about DRV and DRX were identified through the variations of a series of stress-strain curves acquired from these compression tests. DRX is the dominant softening mechanism in dual phase α + β range, while DRV is the main softening mechanism in single phase β range. The DRV kinetic model for single phase β region and the DRX kinetic model for dual phase α + β region were established respectively. In addition, the microstructures of the compressed specimens were observed validating the softening mechanisms accordingly.

Opis:
Electronics, such as those used in the communication, aerospace and energy domains, often have high reliability requirements. To reduce the development and testing cost of electronics, reliability analysis needs to be incorporated into the design stage. Compared with traditional approaches, the physics of failure (PoF) methodology can better address cost reduction in the design stage. However, there are many difficulties in practical engineering applications, such as processing large amounts of engineering information simultaneously. Therefore, a flexible approach and a software system for assisting designers in developing a reliability analysis based on the PoF method in electronic product design processing are proposed. This approach integrates the PoF method and computer-aided simulation methods, such as CAD, FEM and CFD.The software system integrates functional modules such as product modeling, load-stress analysis and reliability analysis, which can help designers analyze the reliability of electronic products in actual engineering design. This system includes software and hardware that validate the simulation models. Finally, a case study is proposed in which the software system is used to analyze the filter module reliability of an industrial communication system. The results of the analysis indicate that the system can effectively promote reliability and can ensure the accuracy of analysis with high computing efficiency.

Opis:
The single-phase voltage loss is a common fault. Once the voltage-loss failure occurs, the amount of electrical energy will not be measured, but it is to be calculated so as to protect the interest of the power supplier. Two automatic calculation methods, the power substitution and the voltage substitution, are introduced in this paper. Considering the lack of quantitative analysis of the calculation error of the voltage substitution method, the grid traversal method and MATLAB tool are applied to solve the problem. The theoretical analysis indicates that the calculation error is closely related to the voltage unbalance factor and the power factor, and the maximum calculation error is about 6% when the power system operates normally. To verify the theoretical analysis, two three-phase electrical energy metering devices have been developed, and verification tests have been carried out in both the lab and field conditions. The lab testing results are consistent with the theoretical ones, and the field testing results show that the calculation errors are generally below 0.2%, that is correct in most cases.
