In Poland, rabbit is a highly valued animal, due to dietetic and flavour values of its meat, but above all, rabbits tend to be commonly used laboratory animals. The aim of the study was developing standards for counts of B-cells with CD19+ receptor, T-cells with CD5+ receptor, and their subpopulations, namely T-cells with CD4+, CD8+ and CD25+ receptor in the peripheral blood of mixed-breed Polish rabbits with addition of blood of meet breeds, including the assessment of the impact of four seasons of the year and animal sex on the values of the immunological parameters determined. The results showed that the counts of B- and T-cells and their subpopulations in peripheral blood remain within the following ranges: for CD19+ B-cells: 1.05 - 3.05%, for CD5+ T-cells: 34.00 - 43.07%, CD4+ T-cells: 23.52 - 33.23%, CD8+ T-cells: 12.55 - 17.30%, whereas for CD25+ T-cells: 0.72 - 2.81%. As it comes to the season of the year, it was observed that it principally affects the values of CD25+ T-cells, while in the case of rabbit sex, more changes were found in females.

The marsh zone areas include about 2,440 km2 in Kampinos National Park, which amount nearly 30% of park and its buffer’s surface. The specific characteristic of the KNP marsh zones is presence of shallow groundwater; mean depth to groundwater table is formed from 0.16 do 2.30 m. Range and tendencies of groundwater level changes in marsh zones are related to the influence of geogenic and anthropogenic factors. Among geogenic factors, the most important sense have distribution and seasonality of precipitation, which determine the value of infiltration recharge, evapotranspiration and watercourse drainage of shallow groundwater system. The basis of the researches on defining the role of factors determining range and tendencies of groundwater level changes in KNP, has been regular monitoring observations conducted in the park since 1999. The results of correlation indicate on high diversification of relation: atmospheric precipitation – depth to groundwater level. Determination of trend on the different significance levels provides detaching areas where relation between groundwater levels and precipitation is so high that influence of other environmental factors indicating on depth to groundwater table could be skipped and areas where the relation is so low, which indicates on influence of various factors. Groundwater level in marsh areas are characterized by large dynamic of changes. Since 1999, the beginning of the observations, downward trend of groundwater table has been observed, after 2003 the character of trend has been conversed. Another decreasing trend has started in 2007 and with assumption of previous tendencies, its inversion will occur after 2011 (after extremely dry year). Geostatistical analysis of spatial difference of mean year amplitude of depth to groundwater level enabled the assessment of surface water influence on groundwater level changes. The areas of highest value of amplitudes are localized in southern part of northern marsh belt and central part of southern marsh belt. Anthropogenic factors such as: water withdrawal and improper draining system, have not changed in recent years, so their influence can be called as “steady” and acceptably to eliminate in case of elaborating of programs of wetland areas renaturalisation.

Introduction and objective. Physical effort plays a positive role in reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to assess the cardiovascular status in postmenopausal women after several years of regular amateur training. Materials and method. A total of 55 generally healthy females aged 50–70 years, of whom 38 were members of a senior exercise group and 17 comprised a control group, were enrolled in the study. Parameters of blood flow, vascular resistance, myocardial contractility and thoracic fluid content were measured in a 10-minute supine resting test by impedance cardiography. Thereafter, central blood pressure, augmentation index and pulse wave velocity were measured by applanation tonometry. Results. Exercising women have a better outcome than the control group, when evaluated both with impedance cardiography and with applanation tonometry. They have a lower heart rate – HR (65.1 vs 71.5; p=0.033), higher blood flow (stroke index – SI, 58.6 vs 50.3; p=0.040), better myocardial contractility (acceleration index – ACI, 108.8 vs 88.1; p=0.027), higher preload (thoracic fluid content index – TFCI, 20.5 vs 18.1; p=0.002), lower afterload (systemic vascular resistance index – SVRI, 1972.9 vs 2110.5; p=0.026), lower central systolic blood pressure – cBPsys (119.0 vs 129.5; p=0.037), lower augmentation pressure – AP (10.3 vs 15.0; p=0.044) and lower pulse wave velocity – PWV (7.4 vs 8.4; p=0.001). Conclusions. Regular moderate continuous aerobic exercise training has a beneficial impact on the cardiovascular system in postmenopausal women.

In the paper we studied haematologic values,such as haemoglobin concentration, haematocrit value, thrombocytes, leucocytes: lymphocytes, neutrophils, basophils, eosinophils and monocytes in the pheral blood in Polish mixed-breeds with addition of meat breed blood in order to obtain the reference values which are until now not available for this animals. In studying this indices we took into consideration the impact of the season (spring, summer, autumn, winter), and sex of the animals. The studies have shown a high impact of the season of the year on those rabbits, but only in spring and summer. Moreover we observed that the sex has mean impact on the studied values of haematological parameters in those rabbits. According to our knowledge, this is the first paper on haematologic values in this widely used group of rabbits, so they may serve as reference values.

The hydroformylation reaction was discovered by Otto Roelen in 1938. He studied the side processes occurring during the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis with a cobalt catalyst and found some amounts of aldehydes formed from the olefin and syngas (H2/CO) [1]. The hydroformylation found application in the chemical industry, mainly for production of n-butanal from propene. Aldehydes obtained by propene hydroformylation are subsequently hydrogenated to alcohols, used as solvents. Butanal can also be condensed to C8 aldehydes and alcohols, 2-ethylhex-2-enal and 2-ethylhexanol, important components for plasticizers such as dioctylphtalate. The hydroformylation reaction can be applied not only for the synthesis of aldehydes but also for other products. In particular, successful synthesis of quaternary carbon centers by hydroformylation has been reported in which the rhodium catalyst was modified with a ligand that serves as a catalytic directing group by covalently and reversibly binding to both the substrate and the catalyst. Ionic liquids have been recognized as a novel class of solvents which can be successfully used for homogeneous catalysis [4]. Application of ionic liquids, non-aqueous and non-volatile solvents, has made it possible to construct biphasic systems in order to efficiently separate catalysts from organic products. It is also important that the properties of ionic liquids, such as solubility, acidity, or coordination ability, can be tuned by the use of different cations and anions. In the ideal case, the ionic liquid is able to dissolve the catalyst and displays partial miscibility with the substrate. If the products have negligible miscibility in the ionic liquid, they can be removed by simple decantation, without extracting the catalyst. If the products are partially or totally miscible in the ionic liquid, separation of the products is more complicated [4e, 4h]. The main problem with catalytic systems for hydroformylation containing ionic liquid phase was a significant leaching of the catalyst out of the ionic liquid phase, which can be overcome by modifying neutral phosphane with ionic groups. Examples of such systems are presented in the article. It was revealed that N-heterocyclic carbenes were formed in the biphasic hydroformylation reactions promoted by Rh complexes in an imidazolium ionic liquid [10]. Consequently, reactivity of the in situ formed Rh-carbene complexes can strongly influence on the hydroformylation reaction course [11]. The best methodology to perform the hydroformylation reaction would be a flow system in which the catalyst remains in the reactor and the substrates and products flow continuously into and out of the reactor. For the construction of such a system with soluble rhodium catalysts, ionic liquids could be considered as media used for the immobilization of the catalyst. The first example of continuous flow hydroformylation was reported by Cole-Hamilton [19, 20]. Different Supported Ionic Liquid Phase (SILP) catalysts have been examined in hydroformylation [15–17]. Interestingly, the neutral ligand can be applied efficiently in a continuous gas-phase SILP process, while in a typical biphasic system containing ionic liquid and organic solvent it would leach into the product phase.

A significant increase in the distributed generating sources connected and planned for connection to medium voltage (MV) grids makes voltage criteria very important in assessing the sources’ connectivity. Many requests have been submitted for connection of distributed generation sources at a considerable distance (even a dozen or so kilometres) from a main supply substation’s MV buses. As a rule, these are requests for the interconnection deep in an existing MV bus, but also directly to MV switching substation bays. Then maintaining appropriate voltage levels becomes a basic technical problem. Another technical problem relates to meeting the power quality criteria. THD index, and the level of individual harmonics, significantly increases, in many cases reaching or even exceeding the boundary values. With their extensive experience, the authors present examples and results of some analyses herewith. They indicate the impact of voltage conditions on the connection possibilities of distributed generation to MV grids.
Znaczny wzrost przyłączanych i planowanych do przyłączenia źródeł wytwórczych generacji rozproszonej do sieci średniego napięcia (SN) powoduje, że kryteria napięciowe stają się bardzo ważne przy ocenie możliwości przyłączenia przedmiotowych źródeł. Odnotowuje się dużo składanych wniosków o przyłączenie źródeł wytwórczych generacji rozproszonej w znacznej odległości (nawet kilkunastu km) od szyn średniego napięcia GPZ. Z reguły są to wnioski o przyłączenie w głębi istniejących magistrali średniego napięcia, a także bezpośrednio do pól rozdzielni SN. Jednym z podstawowych problemów technicznych staje się wtedy dotrzymanie odpowiednich poziomów napięć. Inny problem techniczny dotyczy spełnienia kryterium jakości energii. Współczynnik THD, a także poziom indywidualnych harmonicznych, znacznie wzrasta, osiągając lub nawet przekraczając już w wielu przypadkach wartości graniczne. Autorzy, dysponując bogatym doświadczeniem, przedstawiają w artykule przykłady i wyniki przeprowadzanych niektórych analiz. Wskazują, jaki wpływ mają warunki napięciowe na możliwości przyłączenia generacji rozproszonej do sieci SN.
