Opis:
The aim of the study was the determination the effect of foliar application of growth regulator containing Ti (Tytanit®), on Lolium multiflorum morphometry, photosynthetic activity, chlorophyll content and chemical composition of dry matter. A pot experiment was carried out in a plant breeding room of Siedlce University, Poland, in 2019. The experimental units were as follows: I) control - plants sprayed with distilled water; II) plants sprayed with 0.02% Tytanit concentration; III) plants sprayed with 0.04% Tytanit concentration; IV) plants sprayed with 0.06% Tytanit concentration. The following parameters were determined: the shoots number, the number and the length of leaf blades, the length of roots, the dry weight of roots, the dry weight of plants per pot and the content of chlorophyll a and b in leaf blades. In addition, maximum and actual efficiency of the leaf photosystem, photochemical and non-photochemical quenching coefficients and the content of total protein, crude fibre, monosaccharides, crude fat, crude ash, Ca, Mg, P, K and the ratio of K/(Ca + Mg), and Ca/P in the dry matter of plants were determined. Used in controlled conditions, the regulator contributed to the growth of most morphological characteristics, improved photosynthetic activity, increased the concentration of chlorophyll a and b, and the content of total protein, monosaccharides, calcium and magnesium, at the same time expanding ionic ratios.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to investigate how the foliar application of iodine, as well as its concentration in the working liquid, influence the growth of fresh and dry weight of plants, stems, leaves, roots and number of shoots and leaf laminae of sand Lucerne. The experiment was carried out in vases. The three plants that developed the largest number of leaves in the vase were left. The experimental factors as the plant growth regulator with the trade name Stymjod in three concentrations of 1.5%, 3% and 4.5% in the working liquid were introduced; the control involved distilled water. Two plant applications were performed. The first one in 6 appropriate leaf phase and the second in the branching formation phase. A single dose of the working liquid was 50 ml per vase. This dose of liquid caused the complete sprinkling of plants in a vase. The obtained results were statistically analyzed by means of analysis of variance. The experiment showed that the concentration of Stymjod in the working liquid is very important. It is difficult to say which concentrations gave the best results in cultivating sand lucerne. The present studies demonstrated that Stymjod applied foliarly at 4.5% concentration significantly affected the growth of stems and leaf blades. Additionally, 1.5% concentration increased the weight of fresh matter and dry matter of roots. The experiment showed that the effects of Stymjod application to hybrid alfalfa depended on its dose. It is difficult, however, to clearly state which concentration produced the best results so further research in this area is needed.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to determine the suitability of lawn grasses cultivated in monoculture and fertilizated by soil conditioners to establish lawn grasses used extensively in terms of their impact on the overall aspect. The following grass species were used in the experiment: Lolium perenne, Festuca rubra and Poa pratensis. They were sown on their own, each of them at the rate of 28 g∙m-2. Another experimental factor tested in the research was soil conditioners – Substral, Humus Activ Papka, Eko-Użyźniacz, UG-max. At the end of each growing season, between 2013 and 2015, an assessment of grass was carried out. Among other things its general appearance was assessed using a 9-point rating scale. This assessment was conducted in three seasons: spring, summer, and autumn. The obtained results showed that the lawn appearance ratings varied throughout the research, both in terms of the season, the species of grass, and soil conditioners. This proves that the soil conditioner effects depend on the temperature and moisture conditions, and that there is an interaction between soil conditioners and the weather conditions affecting the grass appearance. The lawn grass species responded strongly to different weather conditions by changing their appearance in different seasons and years.
