    Opis:
    Video walls are useful to display large size video content. Empowered video walls combine display functionality with computing power. Such video walls can display large scientific visualizations. If they can also display high-resolution video streamed over a network, they could enable distance collaboration over scientific data. We proposed several methods of network streaming of highresolution video content to a major type of empowered video walls, which is the SAGE2 system. For all methods, we evaluated their performance and discussed their scalability and properties. The results should be applicable to other web-based empowered video walls as well.

    Opis:
    W artykule przedstawiono informacyjny system wykorzystywany w doradztwie rolniczym na terenach wiejskich. W systemie tym użytkownik końcowy wykorzystuje środowisko MS Windows 98 i wyższe jego wersje oraz przeglądarkę internetową Internet Explorer wersja 5.0 i jej wyższe wersje, a także inne przeglądarki internetowe. Na poziomie nadawcy informacji wykorzystana jest technologia Linux JSP + serwlety. Zawartością informacyjnego systemu są instrukcje służące do rozwiązywania problemów takich jak: zarządzanie i marketing, finansowanie działalności rolniczej, dotacje, perspektywy rozwoju regionu, ochrona środowiska naturalnego, planowanie i ustalanie norm oraz budowa bazy danych służąca do zarządzania terenami wiejskimi.
    The information system for supporting decision-making on the level of rural regions with closed relation to multifunctional and sustainable farming is presented in the paper. The users PC platform is minimum MS Windows 98 and higher in combination with Internet Explorer version 5.0 and higher, or Netscape version 4.50 and higher is respected on the side of end users. On the level of information provider, the Linux, Postgre, JSP+servlets technologies are used. The database of the system contains the instructions for solving main decision-making situations on the rural levels on (in) the field (area) of management and marketing, position (standing) of the municipality, economic activity and financing of municipalities, subsidies, development and administration of the municipality, environmental protection, land-use planning and building-permit procedure etc. and providing statutes (standards- numerical etalons) for the data support of the decision-making situation within the rural regions (e.g. prices, limits, rates etc.).

    Opis:
    $Cu(en)_2SO_4$ (en = 1, 2-diaminoethane) was synthesized and its crystal structure determined. From a crystallographic point of view, the compound might represent an example for the realization of a S =1/2 Heisenberg magnet on a two-dimensional spatially anisotropic triangular lattice. Magnetic susceptibility and magnetization studies were performed to analyze the magneto-structural correlations and to characterize the magnetic subsystem of the present compound. The results indicate the presence of antiferromagnetic interactions between magnetic ions with zJ/$k_B$≈-14.6 K and short-range order near 7 K.
