In the traditional culture of the Polynesians, the unity of nature and the human being regarded as its part was something obvious. A significant part of the flora and fauna of the Polynesian island of Huahine had a quasi-religious character, playing the role of a taboo, objects of culture, landmarks, and not infrequently even being used as medicine. The colonisation of Polynesia by European nations led to profound changes, also in the way the relation between a human being and nature was perceived, making the character of the latter more utilitarian. Elements of the Polynesian flora became a sought-after raw material in the woodworking industry, the furniture industry, and the cosmetics and perfume industry. The paper discusses selected elements of the flora of the Polynesian islands and the changes in the way they have been perceived and used.

Opis:
This paper presents a method for obtaining the gel conductive systems being made of natural rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) (NR) and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR). For this purpose, a natural rubber (Hevea brasiliensis), coming from a rubber tree plantation in Ranni, Kerala State, Southwest India, was used. Rubber latex was obtained by making incision in the trunk of Pará rubber tree and then collected, afterward being imported to Poland in 2006. Due to good quality and low price, styrene-butadiene rubber was used in the study as a mixture of 1,4-cis and -trans forms, composed of 77% butadiene and 23% styrene, No. KER® 1507, which was produced at the Dwory Chemical Plant S.A. near Oswiecim, Poland. This rubber was obtained in the process of low-temperature emulsion co-polymerisation. As an agent inducing conduction in the rubber systems, divalent metal chlorides, such as BaCl2, CaCl2, CdCl2, CoCl2, CuCl2, FeCl2, MgCl2, MnCl2, MoCl2, NiCl2, SnCl2, SrCl2, or ZnCl2 (manufactured by Chempur®, Poland), and sodium perchlorate, being obtained in the result of sodium hydroxide and perchloric acid synthesis, were used. Active carbon (NORIT® SX, manufactured by Chempur, Poland), with a 900m2g-1 active surface, was also used. For all systems with the divalent metal chlorides mentioned above, specific conductance was determined in the temperature range of 273ºK to 313ºK. The optimum quantities of doping agents in the form of divalent metal chlorides and active carbon being added to natural rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) and styrene-butadiene rubber were determined. It was found that specific conductance for the rubber systems with the addition of divalent metal chlorides and active carbon amounted to 10-4-10-7 Scm-1. On the other hand, specific conductance for sodium perchlorate and active carbon-doped rubbers amounted to 10-3-10-5 Scm-1. The capacitance values for the polymer compositions being doped with divalent metal chlorides are as follows: 8 F/g for the SBR system, and 28 F/g for the NR system.

The oldest trilobite being found so far in an aggregate mine in Mielenko Drawskie is the Cambrian trilobite Agnostus (Salter, 1864). In the area of the Drawsko Pomorskie District, it is possible to observe a wide range of Ordovician trilobites. Ordovician trilobites of order Phacopida (Salter, 1864) are to be found in this area quite commonly. The most frequently observed representative of the family Pterygometopidae (Reed, 1905) is a trilobite of the genus Chasmops from the Ordovician Period. It can be found in sedimentary rocks on sandy and stony fields throughout the whole Drawsko Pomorskie District.

The paper describes the logical and at the same time the proper theory of the Newton’s law of universal gravitation in the universe. It presents the observed principles of “attraction” as a phenomenon of repulsion based on the difference of dark matter pressure. This paper proves in theory that the phenomenon of “gravitation”, as a phenomenon of attraction, does not exist (no mechanisms) and is mistakenly confused with the phenomenon of repulsion.
