Opis:
Objectives The aim of the study was to analyze the determinants of prison inmates’ personal quality of life (PQoL). Material and Methods Three hundred ninety men imprisoned in penitentiary institutions were assessed. Data were collected by means of the the Sense of Quality of Life Questionnaire, the General Self-Esteem Scale, the Social Support Scale, the Resiliency Assessment Scale, the Trait Personality Inventory, which have high validity and reliability. All models were specified in structural equations modeling using Mplus v. 8.2. Results The positive correlates of PQoL are: self-efficacy, social support, and ego-resiliency. The negative correlate of PQoL is trait depression. The study confirmed that 2 factors affected ego-resiliency: self-efficacy and trait depression. Conclusions All significant factors, such as self-efficacy, social support, ego-resiliency, or trait depression, should be taken into account in rehabilitation programs.

This study aims to test whether children with diverse frequency of school anxiety differ in coping strategies and whether the general self-efficacy moderates the relationship between school anxiety and coping strategies. 105 children aged 10–13 were examined with the Anxiety School Questionnaire by L. Czyżniejewska and G. Kopinke; the Self-Efficacy Scale by Z. Juczyński; and JSR-Questionnaire by Z. Juczyński and N. Ogińska-Bulik. The results show that children with higher frequency of school anxiety more often use emotional strategy to cope with stress. The moderating effect of the general self-efficacy on the relationship between school anxiety and coping strategies is not significant.

The aim of this study was to analysis relationship between coping strategies with stressful situations and the sense of controllability of this situation. 451 adolescents were investigated (278 girls and 173 boys) with Ways of Coping Questionnaire by Uchnast (1995), Sense of Controllability Scale and Survey by E. Talik. Results show that adolescents with high level of the sense of controllability more frequently choose strategies as follows: confrontive coping, problem solving and accepting responsibility. There are no significant differences between adolescents with different level of the sense of controllability regarding strategies as follows: self-controlling, seeking social support, distancing and escape-avoidance. There are significant differences between boys and girls with different level of the sense of controllability regarding coping strategies.

There are no significant differences between adolescents with different level of the sense of self- -efficacy regarding strategies as follows: seeking social support, accepting responsibility and confrontational coping.

Coping strategies among adolescentsAdolescents experience many stressful situations, concerning mainly personal problems as well as family, school, and peers problems. In such stressful situations, they employ different coping strategies. The aim of this study was to determine the types of coping strategies depending on the character of a stressful situation. 451 adolescents were investigated (278 girls and 173 boys) with Ways of Coping Questionnaire by R. Lazarus and S. Folkman, prepared by Z. Uchnast (1995), Religious Coping Questionnaire (RCOPE) by K. I. Pargament in Polish adaptation by E. Talik and L. Szewczyk (2008) and an original Survey. Results of the research demonstrate that in addition to traditional coping strategies, adolescents use religious coping strategies as well.
