Opis:
As an island nation, the topic of training and sending out seafarers is a present challenge in Japan. Awareness activities for elementary, junior high, and senior high school students are essential for securing future mariner job candidates. In this study, we conducted maritime and marine educational methods using various procedures to raise awareness about previous maritime industries. We also brought in maritime specialists for junior high school students who will be continuing to maritime educational institutions, and conducted a comparative study of the results. In this study, we compared three types of educational content: lectures on leadership techniques, observational field trips, and hands-on lessons. The results showed that students had the highest interest in the hands-on lessons, followed by observational field trips, then finally the lectures. These results demonstrated that when creating class content for maritime and marine education, this should be adapted to the identity of the young people who are to receive that education.

Opis:
This study analyzes the role played by social networks in maritime education and training. The objective of this study is to investigate the shortage of seafarers in maritime global transportation, as mentioned by the BIMCO. The authors divide the processes of maritime education and training into two categories: “Maritime educational institute” and “Maritime Company.” These are not systematically connected but are found in the processes between social networks; it has the social networks to both. Therefore, teaching staff members, in their roles as job advisors in “Maritime educational institutes,” use social networks in conjunction with “Maritime companies.” The teaching staff members communicate with students using these processes. The teaching staffs are the carriers in regard to how these processes are related. This study surveyed aspects of “personality” and “social networks” pertaining to teaching staffs and quantitatively analyzed the processes related to social networks.

Opis:
The effect of frustration in various localized and itinerant vanadium oxide compounds is discussed within next nearest neighbors Heisenberg and spin fluctuation models, respectively. In the localized moment case the S=1/2 $J_1-J_2$-model on a square lattice exhibits a rich phase diagram with magnetic as well as exotic hidden order phases due to the interplay of frustration and quantum fluctuations. Their signatures in the high field magnetization and in magnetocaloric quantities are surveyed. The possible quantum phase transitions are discussed and applied to layered vanadium oxides of the type $AA'VO(PO_4)_2$ where A, A' = Pb, Zn, Sr, Ba, Cd. In itinerant electron systems magnetic frustration may emerge as a result of electron correlations on a geometrically frustrated lattice. This mechanism causes enhanced spin fluctuations in a large region of momentum space and therefore can lead to a heavy fermion state at low temperatures as in the 3d spinel compound $LiV_2O_4$. The evidence from neutron scattering and NMR experiments is discussed within self-consistent renormalization theory based on local density approximation band structure calculations.
