Opis:
Companies need to constantly evaluate their activities in strategic planning process. These activities include all processes in the company, such as management and organization, research and development, production planning, manufacturing, post-sales services, accounting and finance. The aim of this study is to propose an evaluation model that can be used to evaluate management and organization performance for small and medium enterprises. In the proposed model, fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making approaches consisting of fuzzy analytic network process and fuzzy decision making trial and evaluation laboratory methods are used to determine the weights of performance criteria. A case study has been conducted in a small and medium enterprise for empirical evidence. From the outcome of our investigation, it is possible to conclude that "corporate communication" and "process management" are more important criteria. The most important sub-criteria are listed as, "senior management in harmony with each other", "employee requests and demands are collected periodically" and "pocket reference that includes procedures and fixed rules are available".

This study aims to recycle pure magnesium chips by a two-stage mechanical processing method. In the present study, the feasibility of recycling pure magnesium chips with the help of commercially pure magnesium powder was investigated. For this study, the magnesium chips mixed with different amount of magnesium powders in the range of 25-75 wt%, after mixing by hand and cold press, are subjected to hot extrusion to provide homogeneous microstructure. Furthermore, the effect of magnesium powder and their amounts on the mechanical properties and corrosion behaviour of the recycled magnesium alloys were studied. The results of the mechanical and corrosion test showed that the hardness and compressive yield strength decreased with increasing chip content, while increase in the chip weight fraction in the initial mixture resulted in a significant increase of corrosion resistance.

Opis:
To design breast ultrasound scanning systems or to test new imaging methods, various computer models are used to simulate the acoustic wave field propagation through a breast. The computer models vary in complexity depending on the applied approximations. The objective of this paper is to investigate how the applied approximations affect the resulting wave field. In particular, we investigate the importance of taking three-dimensional (3-D) spatial variations in the compressibility, volume density of mass, and attenuation into account. In addition, we compare four 3-D solution methods: a full-wave method, a Born approximation method, a parabolic approximation method, and a ray-based method. Results show that, for frequencies below 1 MHz, the amplitude of the fields scattering off the compressibility or density contrasts are at least 24 dB higher than the amplitude of the fields scattering off the attenuation contrasts. The results also show that considering only speed of sound as a contrast is a valid approximation. In addition, it is shown that the pressure field modeled with the full-wave method is more accurate than the fields modeled using the other three methods. Finally, the accuracy of the full-wave method is location independent whereas the accuracy of the other methods strongly depends on the point of observation.
