The paper presents a shape and grade of inserts depending on the surface roughness of the intermetallic coatings NiAl and Ni3Al. Intermetallic coatings on nickel based were sprayed with a torch Casto-Dyn 8000 on the steel samples. Thermal spraying intermetallic coatings have been high surface roughness, and therefore they must to be finishing. Experimental research was conducted for unalloyed steel samples with thermal spraying NiAl and Ni3Al intermetallic coatings. Before applying coatings, the samples surface was properly prepared by stream abrasive working, degreasing and finally by cleaning of oxidation products. To testing cutting inserts shape selects square and trigon made tungsten carbide and cubic boron nitride (borazon). Machining intermetallic nickel based coatings were carried out for the cutting speed vc = 214 m/min in the case of after-machining with inserts of borazon, vc = 107 m/min cutting inserts for tungsten carbide, used feed fn = 0.06 mm/rev and depth of cut ap = 0.3 mm. Intermetallic coatings are characterized by high resistance to tribology wear. These materials are used in such fields of technology, such as: electronics, energy, defense, automotive, aviation, shipbuilding, and more industry. The NiAl and Ni3Al intermetallic have found widespread applications as high – temperature structural material due to their high melting point, low density, good thermal conductivity and excellent oxidation resistance. The paper proposes the finishing flame sprayed intermetallic coatings.

In the manufacturing of machine elements was important to technological quality products. In surface engineering one of the economic and ecological treatments used for technological properties were burnishing rolling – pressuring process. This is a surface plastic forming a local plastic deformation based on the overall impression given by smooth and hard tool. In production, engineering cylindrical outer surfaces (e.g. plugs propulsion shaft centrifugal pumps seawater) were finishing. You can therefore propose burnishing in exchange for abrasive machining. The article presents the influence of parameters for burnishing rolling – pressuring process on the degree of relative strain hardening and surface roughness reduction ratio. Burnishing process carried out for 316L stainless steels. After the experimental study, it was determined that there was an increase in hardness and a decrease in roughness of the top outer cylindrical layer of stainless steel, which can be applied to the centrifugal pump shafts ship. Important question to determine in the article of the research was to receive appropriate technological quality. The burnishing due the technological and economic aspect in the production of machine parts in exchange for the abrasive processing can be used. After the experiments, it was found that the technical parameters are influenced by the hardness and the roughness of the outer cylindrical surfaces and the material ratio curve a convex shaped, which, taking into account the load capacity of the surface will be directly affected by its resistance to wear and corrosion of the surface layer.

Opis:
We are continuously faced with the need to update the knowledge that we possess. Performing frequent updates allows us to learn new facts and discard those that no longer apply. One can reasonably argue that most, if not all, of our knowledge is acquired via suitable sequences of updates. By extension, the same applies to intelligent artifacts, such as intelligent knowledge bases and intelligent agents. However, performing meaningful updates is by no means a trivial task. First of all, we have to be able to properly represent our knowledge and provide it with a precise meaning or semantics. Intelligent artifacts, such as databases and intelligent agents, must be provided with a mathematically precise representation of the knowledge. Moreover, such knowledge must be represented in a manner, which is independent of procedural considerations, easy to communicate, exchange and reason about. We must be able to handle updates in a dynamically changing world and thus we have to decide how to resolve contradictions arising from new updates. Quite often, adding a new fact or a new rule to our knowledge base forces us to remove some other facts or rules that are inconsistent with the newly acquired information. At the same time, we want to make sure that the set of facts that need to be revised or outright deleted is, in some precise sense, minimal. Finally, we need to choose between different approaches to and types of updates. After all, updates were quite extensively studied in the literature for a number of years now. In this presentation, I will describe updates using the so-called interpretation or possible world approach. We will show how a commonsense version of Newton’s principle of inertia can be used to provide an elegant and simple characterization of such updates which properly subsumes the important class of revision programs, due to Marek and Truszczynski [MT, MT2], and the formula update approach, due to Winslett [W]. The presentation is intended to be introductory and accessible to non-experts. Consequently, it will only touch upon the important issues involved. The presented results were obtained jointly with Hudson Turner. For details we refer the reader to our joint paper [PT] and to subsequent papers on dynamic logic programs [APPP, ALPPP].

Opis:
The paper presents selected results of experimental research of burnishing process of the steel tube holes. The ballizing process (NPS) is the method of burnishing where consists of pushing the tool through the hole, wherein the ball is greater in size than the opening of the value of the reduction ratio. Used tools to burnishing are hard and smooth surface. Burnishing elements are made of shape: ball, roll and disk. The ballizing process is carry out by a ball. The precise tube holes are made mostly methods abrasive machining. Machining these methods can usually maintain a within the tolerances established by the constructor size and shape and surface roughness. However, not achieved a satisfactory state surface layer of tube holes. Improve the properties of the surface layer can be obtained after application, as finishing, the slide burnishing. Modelling of the burnishing process using the method, NPS is to determine the impact of a specific curvature a rigid tool with of the workpiece. Ballizing process can increase the dimensional accuracy of tube holes, reducing the surface roughness, the strengthening of the surface layer, compressive residual stresses constitution. Compressive internal stresses substantially influence the fatigue life of machine parts. The aim of experimental research was to obtain surface layer state of compressive residual stress and the material ratio curve of convexity shape.

The paper presents choice results of experimental testing of burnishing process by methods BRP – burnishing rolling – pressuring. The burnishing process is a technology of surface plastic forming of machine parts. The plastic deformations are called out by arrangement of strengths causing the superficial crossing the value of tension pressure of the materials. They set the on cold causing except moving the unevenness also the cold work in top layer of workpiece. Studies were conducted for burnishing process of the external cylindrical surfaces. Burnishing carried out for stainless steels. Burnishing technology was proposed using burnished roller (BR-01) in order to give adequate operational characteristics of the shafts neck centrifugal pumps. An important issue to resolve in the article of the research was to obtain appropriate technological quality, and because of the economic aspect of the production and regeneration of machine parts, burnishing applied in exchange for abrasive processing. In experimental studies were obtained in the surface layer increase in hardness and the Abbott-Firestone curve a convex shaped, which given load capacity of the surface will be directly affected by its resistance to wear and corrosion. The burnishing rolling – pressuring process (BRP) were decreased in surface roughness of the top outer cylindrical layer of stainless steel, which can be applied to the centrifugal pump shafts ship.

In this study, it was achieved by using the method of impulse noise to detect internal or surface cracks that can occur in the production of ceramic plates. Ceramic materials are often used in the industry, especially as kitchenware and in areas such as the construction sector. Many different methods are used in the quality assurance processes of ceramic materials. In this study, the impact noise method was examined. This method is a test technique that was not used in applications. The method is presented as an examination technique based on whether there is a deformation on the material according to the sound coming from it as a result of a plastic bit hammer impact on the ceramic material. The application of the study was performed on plates made of ceramic materials. Here, it was made with the same type of model plates manufactured from the same material. The noise that would occur as a result of the impact applied on a point determined on the materials to be tested has been examined by the method of time-frequency analysis. The method applied gives pretty good results for distinguishing ceramic plates in good condition from those which are cracked.

The inadequate electricity generation in Nigeria is the major reason for her economic woes. From the literature some of the problems affecting power generation in Nigeria are lack of policy continuity, drought, Militant activities and corruption. However the degree of impact each of the problem has on power generation varies. Therefore there a need to develop a tool that will identify critical problems such that power generation managers’ will use bulk of the meagre available resources in addressing the more critical ones. In this paper a tool which combine Multi-Objective Optimisation on the basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) technique with Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is proposed for the prioritisation of the problems affecting power generation in Nigeria. The technique is illustrated with a numerical example developed from data from experts. From the result of the analysis, poor maintenance of power generation infrastructure, militant activities and corruption are the most critical problems hampering power infrastructure development in Nigeria. The proposed technique have been proven to be effective in prioritising power generation challenges as it produces almost completely same result with well-known mathematical techniques in literature.
