W artykule przedstawiono doświadczenia autora w stosowaniu do pomiarów wyładowań niezupełnych (wnz) w silnikach elektrycznych czujników antenowych. Pomiary te miały na celu ocenę stanu izolacji uzwojeń off-line i on-line. Autor przedstawił wyniki badań własnych w szczególności omawiając anteny na bazie termorezystorów RTD, anteny paskowe, pętlicowe i przenośne. Autor wykazał bardzo dużą użyteczność w pomiarach wnz silników układów antenowych typu termorezystory RTD wraz z zespołami antenowymi. Pomiary wnz przez poszczególne termorezystory umieszczone w silniku dają możliwość lokalizowania miejsc generowania wnz, czyli miejsc osłabienia izolacji uzwojeń. Czujniki antenowe są bardzo przydatne do pomiarów wnz i diagnostyki stanu izolacji uzwojeń on-line. Proponowane przez autora własne rozwiązania czujników do pomiarów wnz w maszynach elektrycznych w warunkach przemysłowych sprawdziły się.
The paper presents experience of the author with the use of antenna detectors for measurements of partial discharges in electric motors. The measurements aim at off-line and on-line evaluation of the condition of winding insulations. The author presents results of his own research, in particular discussing antennas based on RTDs, strip, loop and mobile antennas. There is shown high usefulness of RTD-type antenna systems together with antenna assemblies for measurements of partial discharges in motors. Measurements of partial discharges by individual RTDs situated in motors enable locating the place of partial discharge generation, i.e. the place where winding insulations are weakened. Antenna detectors are very useful for measurements of partial discharges and on-line diagnostics of the condition of winding insulations. The solutions proposed by the author regarding detectors for measurements of partial discharges in electric machines under industrial conditions have proved to be successful.

Opis:
Operation of electric machines is accompanied by partial discharges. Partial discharges have a very complex nature. Together with progressing use of machines, there is a change in the intensity of partial discharges with typical phase-resolved distributions. The diagnostics can be carried out using available partial charge detectors. Results of measurements of partial discharges in motors depend on: the condition of their insulation, motor load, temperature of windings, humidity, level of external interference, and characteristics of partial discharge detectors and partial discharge analysing devices.
Pracy maszyn elektrycznych towarzyszą wyładowania niezupełne. Charakter wnz jest bardzo złożony. W miarę upływu czasu eksploatacji maszyn, obserwuje się zmianę intensywności wnz przy charakterystycznych rozkładach fazowo-rozdzielczych. Diagnostykę można prowadzić w oparciu o wszystkiedostępne czujniki wnz. Wyniki pomiarów wnz silników zależą od: stanu ich izolacji, obciążenia silnika,temperatury uzwojeń, wilgotności, poziomu zakłóceń zewnętrznych oraz od charakterystyki czujników wnz i aparatury analizującej wnz.

Most commonly, industrial plants use a system of period diagnostic measurements of off-line and on-line rolling bearings carried out cyclically according to a certain schedule. Motors, particularly important in critical drives, are more frequently included in vibration monitoring. We can distinguish: protection monitoring systems; prediction monitoring systems; and systems combining both of these features. The article presents the problem of diagnostics of electric motors on slide bearings using measurements of relative vibrations. This motor diagnostics method is not applied in Poland. It is used for diagnostics of turbine sets. It is worth using the method of relative vibration measurement to diagnostics of motors using slide bearings. Vibrations are measured by two proximity eddy-current sensors measuring displacement of vibrations, located in a bearing casing or near the casing on a plane perpendicular to the rotor axis. There is an angle of 90° is between the sensors and 45° between sensor axes and the horizontal plane. A voltage signal of a single sensor depends on the distance between the sensor and the surface of the shaft in a given moment of time. XY type oscilloscopic observation of signals coming from a two-sensor system enables to observe the trajectory of the movement of the pivot middle. The diagnostics of motors uses characteristic diagnostic relations between inefficiencies of a turbomachine on slide bearings and features of the trajectory of the pivot movement in respect of the bearing sleeve. The following are accepted as features of the trajectory: size of trajectory; turn of rotation direction of a point in the trajectory; period; shape; invariability of trajectory features in time.

The article presents the problem of preparing measurement surfaces, the so-called “measurement paths” of electric machine rotors to measure relative vibrations. Measurement of relative vibrations of the rotor shaft is recognised as the most diagnostically useful measurement of machines on slide bearings. Contactless eddy-current sensors used to the measurements are sensible to local mechanical, physiochemical and magnetic anomalies of surface layer of the shaft. The sensors can result in serious interference in measurement of relative vibrations referred to as the runout. Because the runout has two principal sources: the magnetic and the electromagnetic source, there is the mechanical runout and electrical runout. The author carried out own tests to reduce the runout. Reduction of the mechanical and the electric runout succeeded as a result of the following actions: 1. On the shaft of the motor, one has to precisely determine the location of the so-called measurement paths, i.e. places that will be “visible” to relative vibration sensors; beforehand, the place of eddy-current sensors in the motor needs to be anticipated very precisely. The places should be “metrologically” correct. For example, these should not be nodal points of the rotor; they have to be freely accessible during motor operation, etc. 2. Initially deviations in shape of the shaft should be reduce, eliminating burrs, roughness, scratches, indentations, whipping in places expected as measurement paths. It is worth bringing about reduction of shaft whipping while it is rotating in a turning lath to the level of 0.5/100÷1/100 mm. Further reduction of the mechanical runout, reduction of residual stresses, heterogeneity of the structure of shaft surface layer, reduction of the electrical runout, i.e. reduction of residual magnetic field is obtained by successive surface roller burnishing. It is done using a diamond burnisher during slow shaft rotations on a turning lathe.

The RTD and the SSC wiring act as an antenna. As the PD pulse travels in the vicinity of the RTD and the SSC wiring the PD energy is coupled to the RTD and SSC. The pulse then follows the RTD, SSC wiring out to the transducer in common mode (between all wires and ground) where the PD pulses are extracted from the wiring and feed to the monitor or analyzer. In order to make sense out ofthe PD signals an appropriate analyzer to decipher the signals for analysis is required, ost of the medium voltage machines already have RTD detectors embedded into the winding by the manufacturer and these detectors can be used for partial discharge measurements.

Opis:
Optical systems used for measuring the phase angle are very important equipment of all signal analysers applied for diagnostic purposes. This paper presents a system to measure the phase angle when balancing with the use of SKF Microlog CMVA60 analyser. Then it discusses the use of phase measurement for balancing rotors, for the diagnostics of backlash in a rotating system, diagnostics of the shaft curvature and shaft bending. There are practical examples of the use of phase in the diagnostics of power system.
Bardzo ważnym wyposażeniem wszystkich analizatorów sygnałów używanych do celów diagnostycznych są układy optyczne służące do pomiarów kąta fazowego. W artykule przedstawiono układ do pomiaru kąt fazowego w czasie wyważania przy użyciu analizatora SKF Microlog CMVA60. Następnie omówiono wykorzystanie pomiaru fazy do wyważania wirników, do diagnozowania luzów w układzie wirującym, do diagnozowania wygięcia wału oraz skrzywienia wału. Podano przykłady praktyczne wykorzystania fazy w diagnozowaniu układów napędowych.

Opis:
Typical damages to the insulation of electrical machines are reflected in the PD signal and differ it in a very characteristic manner depending on the location. The paper presents typical sources of defects in the insulation of electrical machines and the corresponding equivalent circuit diagram and some characteristic features of PD signals. Results of PD measurements for sample motors are presented in the background of supply voltage of the selected phase of motors, deemed as the reference phase. Results of PD measurements are presented for different types of damages to the winding insulation. The usefulness of phase signals in the PD diagnostics of the winding insulation of electric motors is presented.
Typowe uszkodzenia izolacji maszyn elektrycznych znajdują swoje odbicie w sygnale wnz i w charakterystyczny sposób „różnicują go” w zależności od miejsca wystąpienia. W artykule przedstawiono typowe źródła defektów w izolacji maszyn elektrycznych i odpowiadający im schemat zastępczy oraz pewne charakterystyczne cechy sygnałów wnz. Przedstawiono wyniki pomiarów wnz dla przykładowych silników na tle napięcia zasilającego wybranej fazy silników, uznanej za fazę odniesienia. Przedstawiono wyniki pomiarów wnz dla różnego rodzaju uszkodzeń izolacji uzwojeń. Pokazano przydatność fazy sygnałów wnz do diagnostyki stanu izolacji uzwojeń silników elektrycznych.

Opis:
Each machine goes through four phases of its existence: construction, manufacture, operation and disposal. Each stage requires relevant diagnostics. For the purpose of management of owned machine, it is useful to divide them into 3 groups in terms of their importance: critical machines; quasi-critical machines; and auxiliary machines. It is also advisable to adopt the principle that critical machines should be subject to continuous on-line monitoring. Monitoring systems should involve systems that can simultaneously carry out measurements at all defined measurement channels at one time with current updates. Defects in operation of machine units using such systems are detected almost immediately. The article presents examples based on own research.

In modern branches of the industry in technically developed countries, electrical machines are increasingly covered by on-line diagnostics involving the condition of winding insulation based on the measurement of partial discharges. The nature of partial discharges accompanying operation of electrical machines is very complex. PD on-line measurements require specialist PD sensors and instruments that analyse PD signals. The analysis of signals for diagnostic purposes should be carried out taking into account the phase-resolved distributions and mutual correlations between PD and load, temperature, humidity and vibrations.

The necessity to carry out studies of resonant properties of engines results from several reasons. One of the most important ones is the requirement to test models and prototypes. In the course of these studies, it needs to be determined if there is not too much convergence of resonant frequencies and bands with frequencies of excitation forces, particularly low orders, especially equal to 0 and with large amplitudes. In practice, there is often a need for a "de-tuning" of the foundation or the manner how the engine is fixed due to the convergence of resonant frequencies of these elements or factors with resonant frequencies of the engine. This also forces the precise determination of resonance properties of the engine.

Opis:
Operation of electric machines is accompanied by partial discharges. Partial discharges have a very complex nature. Together with progressing use of machines, there is a change in the intensity of partial discharges with typical phase-resolved distributions. The diagnostics can be carried out using available partial charge detectors. Results of measurements of partial discharges in motors depend on: the condition of their insulation, motor load, temperature of windings, humidity, level of external interference, and characteristics of partial discharge detectors and partial discharge analysing devices.
Pracy maszyn elektrycznych towarzyszą wyładowania niezupełne. Charakter wnz jest bardzo złożony. W miarę upływu czasu eksploatacji maszyn, obserwuje się zmianę intensywności wnz przy charakterystycznych rozkładach fazowo-rozdzielczych. Diagnostykę można prowadzić w oparciu o wszystkie dostępne czujniki wnz. Wyniki pomiarów wnz silników zależą od: stanu ich izolacji, obciążenia silnika, temperatury uzwojeń, wilgotności, poziomu zakłóceń zewnętrznych oraz od charakterystyki czujników wnz i aparatury analizującej wnz.

The reliability of large power units has always had and continues to have a significant meaning to the operation of the Polish Power System. This paper presents definitions of the basic indices of power unit reliability used in Poland and in the world. First, numbers and the duration of specific states are calculated: (Tp, Tr, Tkp, Ts, Tb, Ta, Tk, Lr, Lkp, Ls, Lb, La, Lw) where: Tp – run (service) time of the power unit or a group of power units within the analysed period of time, Tr – outage on stand-by time of the power unit or a group of power units within the analysed period of time, Tkp – outage during a general overhaul time of the power unit or a group of power units, Ts – outage during a medium-scale overhaul time of the power unit or a group of power units, Tb – outage during routine maintenance time of the power unit or a group of Power units, Ta – outage during emergency repairs time of the power unit or a group of power units, Tk – time to which the calculations apply (this value is calculated by the system but is only used to calculate indices and is not printed anywhere), Lr – number of outages on stand-by, Lkp – number of outages during a general overhaul, Ls – number of outages during a medium-scale overhaul, Lb – number of outages during routine maintenance, La – number of outages during emergency repairs, and Lw – number of all outages. Based on the above-mentioned values, the following indices are calculated: availability index AF, share of the outage time in the calendar time FOF, failure index FOR, utilisation index of the capacity installed GCF, utilisation index of the achievable capacity GOF, index of scheduled overhauls SOF, utilisation factor of the calendar time SF, average run time ART.
Niezawodność dużych bloków energetycznych zawsze miała i nadal ma duże znaczenie dla pracy Krajowego Systemu Elektroenergetycznego. W artykule przedstawiono definicje podstawowych wskaźników niezawodności bloków energetycznych, stosowanych w Polsce i na świecie. W pierwszej kolejności są obliczane liczby i czasy trwania wyróżnionych stanów: (Tp, Tr, Tkp, Ts, Tb, Ta, Tk, Lr, Lkp, Ls, Lb, La, Lw) gdzie: Tp – czas pracy bloku lub grupy bloków w rozpatrywanym okresie, Tr – czas postojów bloku lub grupy bloków w rezerwie w rozpatrywanym okresie, Tkp – czas postojów bloku lub grupy bloków w remoncie kapitalnym, Ts – czas postojów bloku lub grupy bloków w remoncie średnim, Tb – czas postojów bloku lub grupy bloków w remoncie bieżącym, Ta – czas postojów bloku lub grupy bloków w remoncie awaryjnym, Tk – czas okresu, za który wykonywane są obliczenia (wartość ta jest w systemie obliczana, ale służy tylko do obliczenia wskaźników, nie jest więc nigdzie drukowana), Lr – liczba postojów w rezerwie, Lkp – liczba postojów w remoncie kapitalnym, Ls – liczba postojów w remoncie średnim, Lb – liczba postojów w remoncie bieżącym, La – liczba postojów w remoncie awaryjnym, Lw – liczba wszystkich postojów. Na podstawie wyżej wymienionych wielkości są obliczane następujące wskaźniki: wskaźnik dyspozycyjności AF, udział czasu awarii w czasie kalendarzowym FOF, wskaźnik awaryjności FOR, wskaźnik wykorzystania mocy zainstalowanej GCF, wskaźnik użytkowania mocy osiągalnej GOF, wskaźnik remontów planowych SOF, wskaźnik wykorzystania czasu kalendarzowego SF, średni czas ruchu ART.

Opis:
Every machine goes through four stages of its existence: construction, production, utilisation and scrapping. Relevant diagnostics needs to be performed at each of the stages. Based on the analysis of signals generated by machines and equipment, we can determine their condition. Among modern methods of diagnostic testing of equipment, we have to distinguish the very successful studies that are based on the use of information contained signals accompanying regular operation of machines. The signals include, among others, vibroacoustic signals accompanying every creative and utilisation process. Vibroacoustic signals are the reflexion of the most important physical phenomena occurring in machines. In his article, the author presents his own experience in utilisation diagnostics of electrical drives in the industry.
