Opis:
The paper is an attempt to reconstruct and characterise discourses in the comparative literature studies in the 20th and 21st centuries. Beginning with the presentation of the methodology of comparative research in the 50’s of the 20th century, the author undertakes the evaluation of research strategies, models and concepts in the consequent decades. She points out that the subject of controversies and disputes of comparative researchers referred to difficulties connected with establishing the identity of a developing discipline, its instrumentation and place in the contemporary, postmodern directions of literature studies. While recalling and commenting on the opinions of Polish and foreign academics, she indicates the methodological intricacies accompanying an attempt to clarify the research aims and tasks of comparative studies in the period of cultural turn. In this aspect, she also considers the category of the dialogue and discursiveness, interculturalism and transculturalism along with the aspect of translation and its role in the process of cross-cultural communication.
Artykuł jest próbą rekonstrukcji i charakterystyki dyskursów w komparatystyce literackiej w XX i XXI wieku. Wychodząc od zaprezentowania metodologii badań porównawczych w latach pięćdziesiątych XX wieku, Autorka podejmuje ocenę strategii, modeli i koncepcji badawczych w kolejnych dziesięcioleciach. Przedmiotem kontrowersji i sporów komparatystów, podkreśla, były trudności związane z określeniem tożsamości rozwijającej się dyscypliny, jej instrumentarium i miejsca we współczesnych, ponowoczesnych kierunkach literaturoznawstwa. Przywołując i komentując wypowiedzi polskich i zagranicznych uczonych, wskazuje na metodologiczne zawiłości towarzyszące próbie uściślenia celów i zadań badawczych komparatystyki w okresie tzw. zwrotu kulturowego. W tym kontekście rozważa także kategorię dialogu i dialogowości, interkulturowości i transkulturowości oraz zagadnienie przekładu i jego rolę w procesie międzykulturowej komunikacji.
Dieser Aufsatz versteht sich als ein Versuch, die in der literarischen Komparatistik im 20. und 21. Jahrhundert vorkommenden Diskurse zu rekonstruieren und zu charakterisieren. Nach der Darstellung der Methodologie der vergleichenden Literaturwissenschaft in den 50er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts, befaßt sich die Verfasserin mit Strategien, Modellen und Forschungskonzepten der folgenden Jahrzehnte. Sie betont dabei, dass etwaige Kontroversen der Komparatisten aus den Schwierigkeiten bei der Bestimmung der Identität, des Instrumentariums sowie des Standortes der sich entwickelnden Disziplin unter den zeitgenössischen, postmodernen Richtungen der Literaturwissenschaft resultieren. Das Anführen und Kommentieren von Aussagen polnischer und ausländischer Forscher lässt die methodologischen Probleme erkennen, die den Prozess begleiten, Ziele und Forschungszwecke der Komparatistik in der Zeit des sog. cultural turn zu präzisieren. In diesem Kontext werden auch die Kategorien von Dialog und Dialogizität, Interkulturalität und Transkulturalität sowie die Frage der Übersetzung und ihre Rolle im Prozess der interkulturellen Kommunikation erörtert.

The article presents the Trylogia Berlińska [The Berlin Trilogy] by Magdalena Parys, a Polish writer living in Berlin. The series consists of three thrillers (Tunel, 2011; Magik, 2014; Biała Rika, 2016 [Tunnel, Magician, White Rika]) which critics have described as „political thrillers”. In the multi-threaded plots, set both in the contemporary and historical realities (World War II and the immediate post-war period), Polish émigrés, rooted in the Berlin’s metropolitan area, without complexes and pursuing their professional goals play a special role. The Poles include representatives of the middle generation - Germans of Polish descent, policemen, photographers, journalists who investigate vicious and unsolved murder cases. The confrontation of characters of Polish descent with their German peers, whose parents and grandparents live with the trauma of expulsion or of being a victim of Stasi surveillance, makes the reader think about the memory and the problem of German-Polish relations in the 21st century.

Redakcja Zarania Śląskiego zwróciła się do 50 badaczy wywodzących się z różnych środowisk i pochodzących z różnych części naszego województwa z prośbą o odpowiedź na pytanie: „Jakie wydarzenia historyczne z perspektywy obecnego województwa śląskiego uznaje Pani/Pan za najważniejsze”? Prosiliśmy o wytypowanie pięciu najważniejszych wydarzeń oraz krótkie wyjaśnienie wyboru, pozostawiając autorom całkowitą swobodę w konstrukcji tekstu uzasadnienia. Sugerowaliśmy jedynie, by ograniczając się do terytorium obecnego województwa śląskiego, nie zawężać poszukiwań do ram czasowych, w których zostało ono stworzone. Respondenci wybrali wydarzenia tak różne, że trudno pokusić się o podsumowanie. Wyrażamy nadzieję, iż wnioski nasuwające się czytelnikowi przyczynią się do refleksji – a może wręcz wywołają dyskusję – nad skomplikowanymi dziejami regionu. Respondenci byli proszeni o sformułowanie krótkiej wypowiedzi. W tym miejscu publikujemy wersje skrócone tych tekstów, które przekraczały sugerowaną objętość. W Suplemencie znaleźć można wersje autorskie.

The purpose of the article/hypothesis: The aim of the article is to present the essence of a bank's information reliability and its assessment by a selected group of stakeholders, which are seniors. The conducted study allowed for the positive verification of the following research hypothesis: the bank's information reliability is an important factor that influences the bank's assessment by seniors. Methodology: The text has been divided into three parts. Two of them are theoretical and the authors focused here on a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. The first one describes the problem of trust in banks and public guarantees as factors influencing the shape of the sector. The second part focuses on presenting important issues related to the broadly understood information in the bank–client relationship. In the empirical part of the article, a questionnaire study was conducted in which the information reliability was assessed from the perspective of seniors using banking services. Results of the research: The research showed that 75% of the respondents had in practice encountered a situation in which the bank provided incomplete or false information. Two-thirds of the respondents also emphasized that information credibility is an important element of building trust in a bank. On the other hand, less than half of them indicated that the bank's information message was legible. The subject of this article is the problem of payment gridlocks and their significance for the enterprise sector and the risks they cause. The authors’ attention is focused here on presenting the essence of payment gridlocks, their consequences, as well as the causes on the sides of both the debtor and the creditor. In the empirical part of the article, the authors focused on assessing the problem of payment backlogs in selected mining and energy-production companies in Poland. A study on selected companies from this industry was conducted, the purpose of which was to show the scale of delayed payments with the particular identification of those that are payment backlogs (i.e. a delay of at least 60 days). Five major companies from the energy industry in Poland were selected for the study, representing both the mining and energy production sectors. These companies are Polska Grupa Górnicza SA, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA, ENEA SA, Energa SA and TAURON Polska Energia SA According to the available data, payment terms in this sector are the longest in the European Union compared to other sectors of the economy. In Poland, the situation is no different in this respect. This is especially visible in the mining industry, which is perceived as very risky when it comes to timely payments. Undoubtedly, reducing payment gridlocks in this industry is a difficult task, which results from its specificity and the number of problems it is struggling with, which have been additionally reinforced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Przedmiotem artykułu jest problem zatorów płatniczych i ich znaczenie dla sektora przedsiębiorstw, w szczególności zagrożeń, które powodują. Uwaga autorów skupiona jest na przedstawieniu istoty zatorów płatniczych, ich skutków, a także przyczyn ich występowania, zarówno po stronie dłużnika, jak i wierzyciela. W części empirycznej artykułu autorzy skupili się na ocenie problemu zatorów płatniczych w wybranych przedsiębiorstwach z branży górniczej i produkcji energii w Polsce. Celem badania było pokazanie skali opóźnień w płatnościach, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem tych, które wyczerpują definicję zatoru płatniczego (tj. opóźnienie wynoszące co najmniej 60 dni). Do badania wybrano pięć największych firm z branży energetycznej w Polsce, reprezentujących zarówno sektor wydobywczy, jak i producentów energii. Wśród nich są Polska Grupa Górnicza SA, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA, ENEA SA, Energa SA i TAURON Polska Energia SA Z ogólnodostępnych danych wynika, że terminy płatności w tym sektorze są najdłuższe w porównaniu z innymi sektorami gospodarki (w całej Unii Europejskiej). W Polsce sytuacja pod tym względem nie różni się znacząco od sytuacji w UE. Jest to szczególnie widoczne w branży wydobywczej, która jest postrzegana jako bardzo ryzykowna, jeśli chodzi o terminy płatności. Niewątpliwie zmniejszenie zatorów płatniczych w tej branży jest trudnym zadaniem, co wynika z jej specyfiki i szeregu problemów, z którymi się zmaga, a które dodatkowo wzmocniła pandemia koronawirusa.

Theoretical background: Banks, due to their nature and a specific role in the economy, are subject to significant regulations in the field of their activities. Currently, the increasing importance of ESG regulations is noticeable, which is on the one hand the result of changing requirements within the EU, as well as ownership requirements and noticeable market pressure. Non-financial disclosures in the area of ESG are becoming permanent and important element of the information policy of banks. Banks manage to monitor the indicators of their own environmental policy or disclose social and employee issues, although this certainly involves additional reporting burdens, and the scope of disclosures as well as the degree of their significance still vary. Purpose of the article: The aim of the study is to identify, systematize and evaluate EU regulations in the area of ESG disclosures relating to the banking sector, taking into account the identification of major limitations related to their implementation. Research methods: The literature review as well as ESG reporting regulations overview and a case study which presents the ESG disclosure practice. Main findings: Effective communication of a bank with its stakeholders is of a crucial importance. As indicated, the legal solutions in this area are new, there are possibilities for their different interpretation, the practice has also not yet been developed. In addition, and perhaps above all, information on the imple mentation of environmental goals indicated in the Taxonomy flows to banks from their clients. Therefore, the approach of bank customers to the discussed issues is important, while for banks it is and will be a huge challenge to verify whether the financed investment is actually ecological and the business activity of the bank’s client is sustainable.
