The effect of Kelpak® biostimulator, Wuxal® Ascofol and Pentakeep®-V leaf fertilizers were tested on Prunus mahaleb L. ‘Bogdány’ stockplants. Shoot production and characteristics, rooting and quality of their cuttings were evaluated. Biostimulator and fertilizers were sprayed four times on leaves before cuttings were taken. The number and fresh masses of the shoots, cutting weights, leaf chlorophyll indexes (SPAD) and indole3-acetic-acid (IAA) levels in shoot tip were measured on stockplants. Rooting rates, IAA--levels in the rooting zone of cuttings, fresh and dry masses of rooted cuttings, both weights of the root and shoot were measured. Based on these results Kelpak® pretreatment could be considered as the most effective in improving the productivity of Prunus mahaleb L. stockplants, leaf chlorophyll indexes and IAA-level in shoot tip of stockplant and in cutting base. The stockplant pretreatment by Kelpak® increased both the single shoot mass and consequently the fresh mass of prepared cuttings. While these pretreatments alone did not affect the rooting rate, the pretreatment of shoots by Kelpak® and Pentakeep®-V increased the dry mass production of cuttings during rooting. Kelpak® pretreatment affected the root dry mass positively, while Pentakeep®-V increased the shoot dry mass of rooted cuttings.
Przetestowano wpływ biostymulatora Kelpak® oraz nawozów dolistnych Wuxal® Ascofol and Pentakeep®-V na rośliny mateczne Prunus mahaleb L. ‘Bogdány’. Oceniono tworzenie i cechy pędów, zakorzenienie oraz jakość sadzonek. Przed pobraniem sadzonek czterokrotnie opryskano liście bio-stymulatorem i nawozami. Na roślinach matecznych określono liczbę oraz świeżą masę pędów, masę sadzonek, wskaźniki chlorofilu w liściach (SPAD) oraz poziom kwasu indolilooctowego (IAA) na wierzchołku pędu. Zmierzono wskaźnik zakorzenienia, poziom IAA w strefie korzeniowej sadzonek, świeżą i suchą masę zakorzenionych sadzonek, a także obie masy korzeni oraz pędów. Na podstawie wyników badań wnioskuje się, że wstępny zabieg Kelpakiem® można uważać za najskuteczniejszy w polepszaniu wydajności roślin matecznych Prunus mahaleb L., wskaźników chlorofilowych oraz poziomu IAA w wierzchołkach pędów roślin matecznych oraz w podstawie sadzonek. Wstępny zabieg Kelpakiem® zwiększał masę pojedynczych pędów, a w konsekwencji – świeżą masę przygotowanych sadzonek. O ile wstępne zabiegi same w sobie nie wpływały na wskaźnik zakorzenienia, to wstępny zabieg Kelpakiem® i Pentakeepiem®-V na pędach zwiększył tworzenie suchej masy sadzonek podczas zakorzeniania. Wstępny zabieg Kelpakiem® miał pozytywny wpływ na suchą masę korzenia natomiast Pentakeep®-V zwiększał suchą masę pędów zakorzenionych sadzonek.

This paper deals with the family of CMAC neural networks. The most important properties of this family are the extremely fast learning capability and a special architecture that makes effective digital hardware implementation possible. The paper gives an overview of the classical binary CMAC, shows the limitations of its modelling capability, gives a critical survey of its different extensions and suggests two further modifications. The aim of these modifications is to improve the modelling capability while maintaining the possibility of an effective realization. The basic element of the first suggested hardware structure is a new matrix-vector multiplier which is based on a canonical signed digit (CSD) number representation and a distributed arithmetic. In the other version, a hierarchical network structure and a special sequential training method are proposed which can constitute a trade-off between the approximation error and generalization. The proposed versions (among them a dynamic extension of the originally static CMAC) are suitable for embedded applications where the low cost and relatively high speed operation are the most important requirements.

Opis:
Application of remote sensing and other GIS methods in the subject of mapping mosquito breeding sites has not been premised accordingly. Despite the facts that the duration of field surveys would be shortened and the effectiveness of action plans would be higher with the supportance of computer modelling techniques. This work aimed to evaluate the applicability of digital elevation models and aerial photographs in the prediction of mosquito breeding sites. Relief analysis was carried out seeking depressions based on elevation models created with TIN and kriging interpolation methods. Spectral analysis was performed on aerial photographs to identify the patches of higher water content or moisture. The results show that terrain analysis can not give acceptable results due to its resolution and accuracy. Spectral analysis of normal (visible range) photographs can be a useful tool in predicting of breeding sites. On grasslands the verificitaion revealed 91% correct results.

Present paper deals with the development of geopolymer foam prepared from ground F class power station fly ash. The effect of the fly ash fineness on the rheology of the geopolymer paste and the foam properties have been investigated. The raw fly ash was ground in a ball mill for various duration, 5, 10, 20, 30, 60 and 120 min. Geopolymer paste was prepared from the raw and ground fly ash with NaOH – sodium silicate mixture as alkaline activator. Geopolymer foam production was made using H2O2 as foaming agent. Additionally, the geopolymer material structure was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, the foam cell structure was monitored using optical microscopy. The rheological behaviour of the geopolymer paste changed due to the grinding of fly ash (from Bingham plastic to Newtonian liquid). Grinding of fly ash has a significant effect on the physical properties as well as on the cell structure of the geopolymer foam.

In their paper, Bounds on the number of edges in hypertrees, G.Y. Katona and P.G.N. Szabó introduced a new, natural definition of hypertrees in $k$-uniform hypergraphs and gave lower and upper bounds on the number of edges. They also defined edge-minimal, edge-maximal and $l$-hypertrees and proved an upper bound on the edge number of $l$-hypertrees. In the present paper, we verify the asymptotic sharpness of the \( \binom{n}{k-1} \) upper bound on the number of edges of $k$-uniform hypertrees given in the above mentioned paper. We also make an improvement on the upper bound of the edge number of 2-hypertrees and give a general extension construction with its consequences. We give lower and upper bounds on the maximal number of edges of $k$-uniform edge-minimal hypertrees and a lower bound on the number of edges of $k$-uniform edge-maximal hypertrees. In the former case, the sharp upper bound is conjectured to be asymptotically \( \frac{1}{k-1} \binom{n}{2} \).

An opencast mine may cause negative effects in many ways. Landscape scarrings of opencast mines are harmful in aesthetic respect, engines, machineries and periodic blastings may cause notable noise loading which are injurious even if these mines are situated far from the settlements because the noise from the mines may disturb animals living in the surrounds (Kerényi, 1995, 2003, Barótfi, 2000). Besides the listed impacts the dust accompanied to the opencast mining cause the most significant load to the environment of these mines. In this study, the extent of dust loading is examined in the case of a North-Hungarian perlite mine. Milling of the exploited perlite is carried out in the milling plant located within the area of the mine in Pálháza which cause additional dust loading. Settling dust loading was studied by 22 measurement stations within a distance of 3 kilometres from the mine, during the installation of which even cover of the study area was aimed. Gathering of the dust samples were carried out monthly from August 2004 to July 2006 thus we have a two-year database. During the laboratory tests, the amount of insoluble and soluble dust fractions, altogether making up the total amount of settled dust, was determined respectively. In addition to the meteorological parameters having the most influence on the spatial distribution of the settling dust (i.e. wind velocity, wind directions and the amount of precipitation, air temperature, humidity and irradia-tion) that is why an automatic meteorological station was installed in the proximity of the mine, i.e. within the study area. It gave us the necessary meteorolo-gical data during the examination. Knowing that the most significant dust loading derives from the opencast mine we can not forget that periodically during the agricultural seasons from the arable lands and during the heating seasons through the chimneys additional dust might get into the dust-traps. To determine the origin of the dust in each dust-trap the dust samples were analytical examined as well. By the chemical composition of the samples we could find out how big roles the pollution sources outside the opencast mine played and hereby we could detect how significant the dust loading originated from the perlite mine is in its environment.

In this study the major topic were the bonding properties of the layer-clad aluminum sheets. The bonding was performed between AlMn1Si0.8 and AlSi10 alloys using hot rolling (a VON ROLL experimental duo mill). The experimental temperatures were 460, 480 and 500°C. The goodness of bonding was tested by tensile test and T-peel test. T-peel test provided a good description about the quality of bonding. Structure analysis was also performed by light microscopy to detect typical bonding faults. The aim of this investigation is modelling the bonding conformation in experimental conditions. Further aim of this investigation is to produce some typical bonding faults and find the cause of formation. The influence of the rolling temperature and surface roughness on the bonding was also analyzed. Rolling schedule and the role of first pass on the development of perfect bonding were experimentally determined.

In many cases the instruments, gages, ventilation stubs and other elements are installed in grain crop storages.The forces acting on elements of any shape can be determined theoretically in the labour-consuming manner, or sometimes they cannot be determined by any means. Conditions are different when the grain crop is moving and after a certain storing period when the material becomes aggregated. The task can be approached by means of the theory of cohesionless materials as used in the soil mechanics, too. In the course of moving, the grain crop flow can have three types of stress conditions, such as active plastic limiting state in forced movement or elastic state between the limiting states. Force ratio can be 6-8 fold for the two extremes. Theoretical investigation of the limiting states has already been made by many persons with thorough grounding. Most of them, however, delt with plane wall containers. Besides the theoretical work the measurements often give the simplified results, especially in the case with the form of certain instruments, gages, ventilation stubs. To solve the task the sample-experiments were carried out. In the experiments we built cylindrical elements in dry sand. Suspension forces were measured and recorded for various sand movement conditions. Measurements were carried out with stored and deposed sands, and in the case of discharge. Force meters, tensometers and recorders were used in the measurements. In addition to the numerical measures, the method of measuring was investigated, in the interest on future measurements in situ. According to the results, the greatest forces appear after longer storage periods.
Wiele przyrządów (mierników) jest instalowanych w magazynach ziarna. Siły działające na element dowolnego kształtu mogą być oznaczone teoretycznie lub w wyniku pomiarów laboratoryjnych. Warunki są różne, kiedy ziarno jest w ruchu i po dłuższym czasie przechowywania, kiedy w materiale tworzą się agregaty. Problem jest zbliżony do teorii materiałów spójnych takich jak wykorzystywane w mechanice gleby. W czasie ruchu cząstki ziarna mogą być poddawane trzem typom naprężeń, określanym jako stan plastyczny lub stan sprężysty pomiędzy granicznymi stanami. Teoretyczne badania stanów granicznych były przeprowadzone przez wielu badaczy. W pracy przedstawiono próbę eksperymentu, wbudowano cylindryczny element w suchym piasku. Mierzono siły zawieszenia i rejestrowano je dla różnych warunków ruchu piasku. Pomiary przeprowadzono z zagęszczonym i luźnym piaskiem. Zastosowano mierniki siły, tensometry i rejestratory. Ilościowe pomiary i zastosowane metody dobrano tak, żeby mogły być zastosowane bezpośrednio w polu.
Многие приборы (измерители) помещаются в склады зерна. Силы, действующие на элемент произвольной формы, могут быть определены теоретически либо в результате лабораторных измерений. Условия различны, когда зерно находится в движении, и после длительного хранения когда в материале образуются агрегаты. Проблема близка к теории связных материалов как используемых в механике почвы. Во время движения частицы зерна могут подвергаться трем типам напряжений, определяемым как пластическое состояние либо упругое состояние между предельными состояниями. Теоретические исследования предельных состояний велись многими исследователями. В работе представили попытку эксперимента, встроили цилиндрический элемент в сухой песок. Измеряли силы завешивания и записывали их для разных условий движения песка; Измерения провели с уплотненным и рыхлым песком. Применили измерители силы, тензиометры и регистраторы. Количественные измерения и примененные методы подобрали так, чтобы они могли быть применены непосредственно в поле.

In the presented work, we investigated the superconducting boron doped diamond polycrystalline film prepared by chemical vapor deposition by means of scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy. Differential conductance spectra measured at various temperatures were used to obtain the values of superconducting critical temperature and energy gap. Comparing various theoretical models fitted to the differential conductance spectra measured at 0.5 K suggests weak pair breaking. However, this cannot account for the high 2Δ/(k_{B}T_{C}) ratio, which therefore indicates strong coupling.

Hydrogen bonds and charge-charge interactions, determined by molecular electrostatics, play essential role in biopolymer-ligand associations. Accordingly, electrostatics is crucial in the qualitative and quantitative characterisation of the binding of drugs to their target molecules. In the following, we will give an account on the role of molecular electrostatics in a drug design, laying emphasis on our own work. We will survey the most important computation methods of molecular electrostatic potentials, then outline basic aspects of molecular recognition: steric, electrostatic and hydrophobic complementarity. On the basis of the complementarity, we will also define molecular similarity and discuss various applications of these concepts to the treatment of protein-ligand interactions and a rational drug design. Special attention will be paid to a receptor mapping and to a comparative molecular field analysis, with some our recent applications. A further important point will be the molecular electrostatic field (potential gradient) as a hydrophobicity measure. We will argue that the hydrophobic complementarity and similarity can be treated on the basis of matching regions of the interacting molecules that are characterised by a similar magnitude of the electrostatic field. The concept of the electrostatic complementarity will be extended to enzyme-substrate interactions, providing a firm basis for the quantitative estimation of catalytic rate enhancement.

The application and utilization of the industrial wastes and by-products in the construction industry is a key issue from an environmental and economic point of view. The increased use of lignite has substantially increased the available quantities of lignite fired power plant fly ash, which can be mainly classified as class C fly ash. The utilization of such raw material however has some difficulties. In the present paper lignite fired power station fly ash and metallurgical converter slag were used for the production of geopolymer concrete. The fly ash was used as a geopolymer based binder material, and a converter slag as aggregate, thus created a geopolymer concrete which contains mainly industrial wastes. As preliminary test experimental series were carried out using andesite as aggregate. The optimal aggregate/binder ratio was determined. The effect of the amount of alkaline activator solution in the binder, the aggregate type on the geopolymer concretes compressive strength and density was investigated. Furthermore, the physical properties - freeze-thaw resistance and particle size distribution - of the applied aggregates were measured as well. As a result of the experiments it was found that physical properties of the andesite and converter slag aggregate was close. Therefore andesite can be replaced by converter slag in the concrete mixture. Additionally, geopolymer concrete with nearly 20 MPa compressive strength was produced from class C fly ash and converter slag.

In our study we attempt to demonstrate the effects of uninsulated sewage tanks, which are the most important sources of contamination in settlements without sewage systems, on groundwater quality. We compared the results of measurements carried out before and one and a half years after the construction of the sewage system. We established 3 m deep monitoring wells within a 25 m radius of a sewage tank, which were then sampled, and the level of groundwater was recorded. The 3D model constructed on the basis of the saturated zone shows that the effluent wastewater formed a groundwater level dome with a height of more than 1 m. After the sewage tank was taken out of use the difference between the highest and lowest groundwater levels decreased to a few centimetres. In our study we investigated the spatial distribution of NH4 + (ammonium). Using the 3D model we were able to precisely determine the volume of water bodies with different levels of contamination. In an approximately 25 m3 water body, in the immediate environment of a sewage tank in use we detected NH4 + at a concentration which was characteristic of undiluted wastewater (>90 mg∙dm–3). After the sewage tank was taken out of use, the concentration in its immediate environment decreased by more than 50%, although almost everywhere in the modelled area concentrations were measured above the limit value. Based on the above, we can conclude that the cleaning process has started, but the complete decontamination of the groundwater will take several years.
W pracy podjęto próbę wykazania wpływów nieizolowanych zbiorników ściekowych, które są głównym źródłem zanieczyszczenia w osiedlach pozbawionych kanalizacji, na jakość wód gruntowych. Porównano wyniki pomiarów prowadzonych przed i półtora roku po zbudowaniu systemu kanalizacyjnego. W promieniu 25 m od zbiornika ściekowego zainstalowano studzienki o głębokości 3 m, z których pobierano próbki i mierzono w nich poziom wód gruntowych. Na podstawie trójwymiarowego modelu zbudowanego ze znajomością strefy saturacji stwierdzono, że wypływające ścieki uformowały wypukłe zwierciadło wód gruntowych o wysokości ponad 1 m. Po wyłączeniu zbiornika ścieków z eksploatacji różnica pomiędzy najwyższym i najniższym poziomem wód gruntowych zmalała do kilku centymetrów. W przedstawionych badaniach analizowano przestrzenne rozmieszczenie jonów amonowych (NH4 +). Stosując trójwymiarowy model można było precyzyjnie określić objętość wody o różnym stopniu zanieczyszczenia. W 25 m3 wody w bezpośrednim otoczeniu używanego zbiornika ściekowego wykryto jony amonowe w stężeniu typowym dla nierozcieńczonych ścieków (>90 mg∙dm–3). Po wyłączeniu zbiornika z eksploatacji stężenie to zmalało o ponad 50%, choć niemal wszędzie nadal przekraczało dopuszczalne normy. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników można wnioskować, że proces oczyszczania został rozpoczęty, ale całkowita dekontaminacja zajmie kilka lat.

There are global aspirations to harmonize soil particle- size distribution data measured by the laser diffraction method and by traditional sedimentation techniques, e.g. sieve-pipette methods. The need has arisen therefore to build up a database, containing particle-size distribution values measured by the sieving and pipette method according to the Hungarian standard (sieve-pipette methods-MSZ) and the laser diffraction method according to a widespread and widely used procedure. In our current publication, 155 soil samples measured with sieve-pipette methods-MSZ and laser diffraction method (Malvern Mastersizer 2000, HydroG dispersion unit) were compared. Through the application of the usual size limits at the laser diffraction method, the clay fraction was under- and the silt fraction was overestimated compared to the sieve-pipette methods-MSZ results, and subsequently the soil texture classes were determined according to the results of both methods also differed significantly from each other. Based on our previous experience, the extension of the upper size limit of the clay fraction from 2 to 7 μm increases the comparability of sievepipette methods-MSZ and laser diffraction method, in this way the texture classes derived from the particle-size distributions were also more in accordance with each other. The difference between the results of the two kinds of particle-size distribution measurement methods could be further reduced with the pedotransfer functions presented.

Cadmium is one of the toxic heavy metals which, getting in the nutrition chain through the soil-plant system, is capable of causing harm to human health. The objective of the trial was to study the effect of cadmium load in the soil-plant system. In pot experiments carried out under greenhouse conditions, effect of increasing Cd load on different crop plants (lettuce, maize) was studied. Literature data inform on the decisive role of soil reaction in mobility of cadmium in the soil. The answer was looked for the question of the effect of cadmium treatments at uniform rates on Cd uptake by plants on two soils quite different from each other in pH value. It may be concluded that increasing Cd load can result in the decrease of biomass production of maize and lettuce, but significant differences were obtained only on very acid SN soil. The concentration of Cd in plants increased on both soils as a consequence of growing Cd treatment rates. In corresponding treatments the Cd levels in lettuce and maize plants grown on very acid SE soil were several times higher than in case of plants on the KE soil. Obtained results confirm that Cd mobility on acid soil may be much higher what is clearly reflected in cadmium uptake by plants. On acid soils the cadmium uptake by plants is more intensive, therefore this toxic element is more likely to get in the nutrition chain. Considerable differences in Cd uptake can be detected among the plant species. On the same soil at the same rate of cadmium treatment. Cd level in lettuce plants was by several times higher than in maize. The lettuce plants can accumulate cadmium in the leaves at high concentrations without any visible symptoms. In the experiments no toxicity was observed on test plants.
